Great video! Glad you did the kill-o-watt tester! Another way to cool it that I found worked out really well was putting a wet towel over the compressor and I actually set up a water drip on top of it with a fan blowing on it. Kept the compressor around 120-130F running 600w (it was a bigger compressor for 12000 BTU AC). The compressor is meant to be in an outside unit so the wet towel and water isn't an issue and it kept the temp down about 40-50F lower than with just air alone. I did this b/c I wanted to run the compressor 24/7 as a vacuum pump for filtration, so it would have burnt up otherwise. Also, I'm guessing you know this, but keeping the temp down in the compressor and the air intake will boost the CFM output of the pump b/c the cooler air is more dense. Same reason they use intercoolers on turbo's, so the cooling of these motors as an air pump is more important than it is when running as a refrigerator compressor. BTW, the best blower I found for this is an old microwave vent fan (dual squirrel cage blower) as it concentrates the air very well and moves a lot of CFM over the motor. You can use a normal light dimmer to control the speed of these motors/fans.

the ac compressors are very reliable and will last many many hours working, just make sure you replace the oil in them as refrigerant oil is hydrophilic and will attract water vapour i have heard motor oil is more durable and will last longer

so at the end you talk abou the syphon. And syphon works great with high flow and pressure, then it sucks a good vacuum. We use 8bars on car cooling system vacuum systems. We have a syphon system that sucks a big vacuum in the car cooling system to then fill it without air bubble. But that thing wont work at anything below 4 bar(about 60psi?) And at 120psi it wil just suck so hard that all the hoses wil collapse under the vacuum. So for syphoning(wich is just suckin in by vacuum) you need high pressure and good flow for the nozzle size. Now you tested it and flow is not that high, so you need a really really really smal hole to atleast get good pressure for its flow to then work as a syphon. But then the flow of oil wil be so low it wont self sustain. So i would also say get some help from gavity, make that allready put the oil in the hose and then the pretty weak vacuum the compressor manages to make wil be enough to draw it trough the nozzle and in to the air stream.

Add an oil drip into the air inlet and it should live a long time

you can try to get a rotary compressor from a used window air conditioner more than 2 ton useing r22 foreon , which have larger than 40cc. that is huge , at least 3 times larger than the compressor you showed in this video.

Have you tried a regenerative blower yet? Same type used for Koi ponds. They are a continuous duty motor that can run all day.

Can you get more combustion out of it by adding a leaf blower to this exact setup? I'd like to see the result

would be cool to have a burner with 20 watts input and 2000W output so it can run of batteries and a mini fan/compressor, could be marketed as portable version best product made would be "i-burn" / "i-burner" xD

Ok.... I went back to the beginning of the video...... Yes Sir. Someone did say that...... Uhhhhhh ........ I guess Yes, it (the ac compressor) should have some sort of wind hitting it, because when in a window unit, the ac is pulling in air from the room {that is a wind flow}.

ok...... I've run window ac's for many, many hours without turning 'em off.......... I think you mentioned that someone said the compressor you're using will burn out quickly??? If that's what he or she said.......... I don't think so.

Only way your going to get all the old oil out of the compressor is to drill a hole in the case then weld a bung for a pipe plug.
