I give him credit . I mean it is what it is . When I saw GNR a few years ago , I thought “ Axl sounds like crap “!! But hey … they put on a 3 hour show and he seemed to have a ton of energy. I know this : Axl and I are the same age . I played In various R&R bands thru the years and if I had had back to back gigs , it was really hard to put on an awesome performance the next night . ( as a lead vocalist). Night # 1 was always the best . The 2nd ??? Ahhhhhhh ….. was ok . Thank God I wasn’t on tour or anything . I never said I was a great singer . No !! Yeah I can sing my ass off but a great singer will give you the best vocals if they have longevity. These songs are not easy !! Used to hurt my voice . Again -- one night a week they were awesome . But 2 or 3 shows a week were not good IMO . I would of never made it in a touring band . So Kudos to Axl ❤️🎵🤠
Angus is the best guitarist out there. The Beatles are the best band but I can't deny that Angus is the best guitarist. He keeps classic rhythm and blues with the hard rock feel of the 70's and even makes his solos sound perfect for the songs they're played in. He is the only true rock n roll guitarist out there today keeping the genre alive and he's not gonna stop till he dies.
Respect, Axl Rose! He sang with Queen, as well. He can reach 8 octaves and this is impressive! No surprise Brian May from Queen invited him to join the band for a couple shows. No surprise Angus Young accepted him to join AC/DC for this tour. Axl is a huge fan of AC/DC. And by the way, he was never trying to replace anybody. I mean, Brian Johnson is irreplaceable, just like every huge rock legend, such as Freddie Mercury (RIP). I hope the legend Brian gets well soon and comes back to rock! Axl Rose, I respect you and your career! Peace out, people! This is just my opinion! :)
Axl Rose is not an average rocker, he's a super rock star, on the top of the constelation. He created a style of this own that could never be recreated by anybody, he's the face of the 90's rock, his voice is unparelleled. Nevertheless he humbled himself down to go and sit in for a fellow rocker in a legendary band and and be bound to be vebally abused by fans of AC DC. In this moment he's shown to the world that he's bigger than life. Hats off to a true living legend. More respect with Axl, he doesn't need money and doesn't need to show anything to anybody.
I think you meant late 80’s.... the crown of the 90’s goes to Kurt Cobain. But yes Axl and Guns did really save rock from being mass produced pop rock during the 80s (not pissing on those bands but Ie: Bon Jovi, poison) and yeah Axl was easily the biggest star from 1987-1990
Jack McDouglas axl rose is humble about nothing lol. His voice is gone, he sounds like Mickey Mouse after smoking for 30 years. It sucks I like Guns N’ Roses but I think it’s time for him to retire
Real AC/DC fans should respect the fact that AC/DC asked Axl to sing for them for the sake of the tour. From AC/DC "As much as we want this tour to end as it started, we understand, respect and support Brian's decision to stop touring and save his hearing. We are dedicated to fulfilling the remainder of our touring commitments to everyone that has supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Rose has kindly offered his support to help us fulfill this commitment." Now for those who nitpick AXl's weight, aren't you forgetting that Brian Johnson also used to be thin when he was young and now he's got a gut sticking out. It's called aging. And for those who still want to nitpick, let me hear YOU hit those high notes yourself and let's see if you could do a better job.
I am with you, Axl actually was morbidly obese at one point and lost a ton of weight since then. Bless the guy, he sounds the best he has in years. He did a fine job of filling in some huge shoes. I was leery as fuck about him taking over as frontman but he proved me wrong.
Who in their right mind would have a problem with this, are you kidding me?? This is one of the greatest things I've ever seen in my life. Axl's vocals are PERFECT, he has all the swag needed to front AC/DC and crushes it. I didn't know this happened, and I'm so glad there's video of it, it makes my heart happy to see these old fuckers still out there killing it.
Saen Simon AC/DC is a force now. Tapping Axle to pinch hit was a good idea. He has the voice for it and adding a Legend to another Legend just makes for interesting , fascinating Rock history and hold on to those ticket stubs !
@@stevescontriano860 He's sold millions of records and is on the rock hall of fame. What have you done with your life? Also, kinda weird to reply to a comment from 2 years ago, bro.
Umm. I never knew Axl ever played with the masters. As difficult as this is to say, I honestly, (at this point) couldn't think of anyone who can scream and hold those notes like our previous loves could. In a jam? Call Axl. He pulled it off. They deserve it. Thanks for the memories..Always!
Axl was the man of the year. Broke his foot...sang from a throne loaned to him by a guy he used to feud with. Kills it with AC/DC and Guns n Roses...at the same time...alternating gigs. On time, 3 hr shows. He didn't turn over a new leaf, he flipped the whole damn tree.
axl was asked if he would help out he isn't trying to take over and be the new voice of AC/DC. he does an excellent job sounds good . axl is the man he can still perform at a high level.
+Dr Gru but cliff is retiring after this tour. what are they gonna do then? 3 of there band members are gone. i personally would love it if they found new members and kept touring. i just dont see it happening....
Rose is a pompus ass, who abandoned his fans years back... walking out on concerts and throwing fits... fans never forget. He doesn't sound close to Bon Scott or Brian Johnson... just a bunch of yelling monotone crap.
Axl sounds okay, tbh. Different than Brian but then again Brian sounded different than Bon. I think newer fans who weren't around for Bon are having a harder time accepting Axl as the lead singer of AC/DC. For younger people, Brian is all they've known. Older fans understand that the lead singer has changed before and could change again. btw, Axl is younger than Brian so there's also that!
you quote." For younger people, Brian is all they've known."younger fans have the possibility to listen to bon, watch videos and choose whoever they like.
I think he means younger by someone close to axl rose age who grew up listening to the brian era like how fans of early black sabbath love the ozzy era more which is better to me than the dio era
well thats a bit silly because i know a lot of younsters who discoverd acdc through cds and videos and are in favour of bon scott, how many people who were born in the 80s,90s much prefer the old pink floyd albums like wish you were here , dark side ofr the moon or meddle recorded in the 70s
Though I was hoping (but not expecting) they would get someone who evoked Bon's legacy more than Brian's, (was never a fan of Brian, though I respect the guy) I gotta say that Axl nails the Brian stuff, and probably pulls off the Bon stuff about as well as Brian did (which is not great IMO, but he manages). Considering Brian's long standing tenure, I don't really expect them to try to recapture the Bon era after almost 40 years. I can't really think of a better choice to pull off Brian's insanely unique vocal feats.
This works better than anyone imagined. No bs, no drama, no politics for Axl, he just sings the songs true, and he knows he's with a great band and when to step back and let Angus and the band take the spotlight.
He is probably one person in the world who could step into Brian's shoes and not fail... One reason is his voice, energy and unlike any young unknown singer he knows well what big stage is and how to pefrorm there. You don't like it because he is Axl, not Brian but you can't honeslty say that he did it not well...
That took some balls, Axl, and you PULLED IT OFF, and thank you for helping out our favorite band of the original old-school hard rockers of all time. Singing out, old school AOD and HTH fan from the FIRST YEAR OF RELEASE!! (Okay, it took me till the new release of "Dirty Deeds.." in 1981 to get into AC DC, but I got Highway to Hell IMMEDIATELY!"
No importa como luzcan ya han pasado los años y el tiempo a nadie perdona pero las leyendas nunca mueren y siguen con ese punch ke jamás morirá sus voces como si el tiempo no las hubiese tocado
This guy is a TRUE LEGEND! Maaan! Amazing! All of them in the stage belong in the legend category, but the Axl case is just another level. Those were some big shoes to fill, and he did it AMAZING! He's really gifted.
I like Axl in AC/DC, but he's hit and miss (as expected). This song is one of the ones where I'd say he's very weak up until the end. Not unable to hit the notes, but it just sounds thin and 'smooth' which this song doesn't really work with. I love Axl's smooth voice sometimes don't get me wrong (Street of Dreams is my favorite Guns N Roses song believe it or not). For this song I'd say it's just in a part of his range that isn't as consistent as a little higher or a little lower. Those notes at the end support that I think.
What a mash up. Two of the best rock artists together should always be celebrated. Sure, none of them sound like they once did in their respective heydays but who cares when they’ve still got it in spades, and still own all the young bands coming through today. Mighty 💪🏻
I bet it has been an eye opener for Axl to see how a band like AC/DC manages their personal lives. So professional and consistent, compared to what he has lived. But I think he has done a stand up job. This cannot be easy to step into the very big shoes of Brian Johnson.
Bon was the man, Brian was who they needed to move on . No disrespect but brian is a studio singer sounded shit everytime i seen him live .Axl i first thought WTF but he does the job well and sounded better than Brian ever did live ! At the end of the day it keeps Angus going can you imagine Angus retiring from doing all he,s ever known not likely he will rock on til his number is up. AC/DC will never die !
They Rocked the show. Axl Rose's voice is still incredible as when he was younger. AC/DC and Axl's talents are unbelievable and amazingly great. They never sound like they got aged. Amazing. 👏👏👏
Love axl. Thank u axl. Thank u for the voice. The songs. The chaos. The performances. The excitement. The unpredictability. . The man. The legend. I feel so blessed to have grown up with guns and Roses. Best front man ever.
Just like to say thankyou axl for helping AC/DC out cheers a no your a AC/DC fan but Bon is the true AC/DC frontman Brian is fucking good but Bon was the man AC/DC forever
To Executioner aye Bon is dead but Brians not retired and as for axl aye probably has the best range but as Good as axl n Brian are its Bon who a like the best out off the 3 cliff Williams is retireing after this tour and as iv said before Angus wont keep the band goin without Malcolm
With Brian Johnson it was a comedian that said Angus had kicked him to the curb and cause he is Brians pal he was angry but that is true he did forget to ware earplugs during a race it was Brian that said he couldnt continue playing live but hoped to do at least some of the shows a hope theres no more to it than that but you cld be right theres alot of things they cld have done like wearing ear defenders like workman do a hope to see Brian playing live again but doubt it
Brian Johnson fez história no comando do AC/DC, Axel é um dos poucos homens de frente que ainda existem no cenário musical, não combina muito com o estilo dá banda mais está representando legal.
Anyone who plays the guitar ever tried to move around or run around while they're playing. The fact that he can still do that at his age is absolutely amazing. I couldn't even do that when I was 20 years old. Not run and jump around and play at the same time. I still think they are the best raw rock band ever. They never completely sold out like most bands do once they became successful.
As a HUGE ACDC and Gnr fan this really made me happy...i was going through some bad shit at this time and got to see not only ACDC with AXL but also the Gnr not in this lifetime tour and it helped turn me around...loved both shows
