He was a genuine hard working guy and inspirational too overcoming his alcohol issue and of course in the later stages with his time in the band he still continued to work until he couldn't. He's a guy we should all look up to in one way or another !
Yes. Exactly. Sadly during his life with us he was not that much talked about. It was always Bon and Angus...later Brian and Angus. Malcom WAS ACDC, and in the words of Angus..."he was a bloody better guitarist than me".
Malcolm Young.........absolute legend!! What he did for Bon Scott's family upon Bon's death was such a selfless and honorable thing to do. It would have been very hard on Malcolm knowing that he only had hours to call Bon's family before the news got to Australia......how sad and tragic, especially for Bon not seeing the fruits of his labor after so many years on the road!
Hoplite Warlord Bon just drank far too much is such a pity. Really missed his incredible presence and stage antics. Brian deserves all the credit he's an entirely different singer. Really love both equally.
@@TheMoonchild1969 Brian done well as a take over , just bloody sad never seen more years of Bon , personally Bon had more charisma , stage presence , would of taking them higher again , but full credit to Brian but personally Bon was AC/DC as a perfect mix , someone's misfortune was anothers gain sadly .
Bon was simply incomparable as a performer. His mannerisms his wit. He never needed to put on a stage Bon, unlike others who change personas when they are performing or in interviews. Even Angus - who turns into a beast onstage is quite a quiet gentleman in everyday life.
I got a big scar on my forehead from flipping a 72 pinto in 1985 turning the radio up when Hells Bells came on.And I still turn it up at 54 minus the alcohol while driving...That album was when I first herd them and played the 8 track over and over, cannot remember the 2 concerts (little rock and okc)or years..
My dad planted the seed when I was very young. I'm not 30. I lost my dad when I was 15. He would be proud that I'm sat watching anything I can acdc related. Wow what a band. Fingers crossed for 1 more UK tour. Might just get to see them.
I will never forget buying my first AC/DC album in the summer of 1977: "Let There Be Rock". These guys could do more with three chords than anyone I had ever heard!!!
a film must be made urgently, while they are still alive, Angus, Brian, Cliff, Rudd,. if any group deserved a Hollywood 3 hour film, then it is AC/DC. They are simply number 1 who had the most influence on the music scene .AC/DC is an institution, the biggest rock brand, like Mc, Coca Cola. AC/DC had an influence on every group and musician playing today, and the most famous looked up to them, learned from them, played their riffs, songs. the group with the greatest influence on the rock scene but also other musical directions, the loudest, the most rhythmic, simple but difficult, almost impossible to accurately observe, as AC/DC does and does.
tbh i started crying when Mal started talking at 7:21, like those words killed me. Cos the way he said it just screamed that they're all still of shocked about Bon's death, even after such a long time. It's heartbreaking.
@09:15 My heart breaks for Bon Scott's Mom and for all the band members,,, I mean that must have been such an awful time for all of them to go through such an awful TRAGEDY ya know,,, it must have been so damn heart breaking for everyone involved :-((
You see these dudes rocking out and just enjoying themselves no drama just Rock n Roll Hands down the best Rock and Roll band around with Bon and Brian they are so Humble, alot of Rock bands should really take notes yeah they wanted money but u dont see them flashing money Just playing music .You dudes are BAD ASS #1 i have so many memories with your music u just dont know . Much Love sent your way from Jim Ciccarelli
I saw the second ever show of ACDC at the Hollywood sportatorium this was after their first ever show in West Palm Beach. That was,the loudest band I've ever heard. I believe I left part of my eardrums at that venue. They were there with TightSqueeze, Todd Rundgren, Pat Traverse, Charlie Daniels and Grinder Switch.
Mum was a Christian but worked in Indonesia..leprosy stuff .. brought me back some cheap tapes. The first tape I ever owned. Still surprised she brought me this one . Being Christian and all. Thanks mum .
I never got to see them with Bon, I saw them on the Back in Black tour at the Toledo Speedway Jam the year the album came out and it was of course with Brian. I wish I had gotten to see them with Bon. These guy's were all great guy's and seem like they were really down to earth people in the interview's I've seen of them. I have a friend who is a waitress and she served them one night at her restaurant and they were super cool she said and they all took pictures with her and the staff and the whole restaurant was all happy that the band was eating with them and the staff locked the door's so no one else could come in. RIP BON and MALCOLM you guy's made life better for everyone.
I was living in England with both of them died; had just seen Led Zeppelin at Knebworth ('79), sad to see them both go...by, apparently, the same cause. Never saw Bon perform live, but went to the "Back in Black" tour at the Hammersmith Odeon; where they had a (symbolic) coffin on the stage...seems like yesterday.
@@leonhardtk i foolishly turned down an invite to see led zeppelin in 1973. i loved their music, had all their records but was a different person at that very young age, hadn't smoked pot, too young to drink, and was into sports and being healthy. and to this day i still hate being around crowds that big. especially with how wasted people got back then. hard drugs not my bag, and those people made me real nervous, seen some crazy ass shit. saw bon with ac/dc a few years later, a little older and more into the concert and music scene. was smoking pot and a weekend warrior. was in iowa visiting family and saw them close by in davenport 1978. smaller venue. i'll never forget it, raw, high energy, in your face loud rock and roll the way it was meant to be played.
@@tomitstube There probably were some that were doing drugs at the Led Zeppelin concert, I didn't see anybody. I wasn't into the drug scene either and I enjoyed the concert .
That's a horrible way to go. R.I.P Bon Scott. I can't imagine how horrible it would be to have to tell your friends parents that they're dead. And now Mal is gone. Jesus, AC/DC have had it rough.
Live Wire I would have felt guilty, or felt that the parents could have blamed me and the band if I were in his shoes... What do you fucking tell them ?
I love AC/DC this is a just a sad testament to what the fucking booze does to you if you don’t keep it at a moderate level .... I once saw Angus in an interview say that there was a lot of drugs too especially for Bon ...RIP just a bunch of great humble guys rest in peace Malcolm as well😊❤️😔
That live outdoor concert they were showing was A Day On The Green #3. July 23rd, 1978. AC/DC, Van Halen, Pat Travers Band, Foreigner and Aerosmith headlined It was a great all day event
Wow, i didnt know it was that year! I was just thinking about him when they said he choked on his vomit! The last person with John turned him on his side and left - i thought that was what you were supposed to when you leave someone drunk to keep airways open? So what to do???
Sudden shocking death? Really? Bon was heavy on booze and drugs, everyone knew it. There's nothing sudden or shocking about his death. He had the voice but man he threw his life away on the side partying and booze.
@02:45 OMG Angus is so freaking hilarious ,,,,4 reels he is the shit for shore,,,,,ha ha ahhh LMFAO ROTF ;-) Jail break, jail break , love the riffs on so many of their songs,,,, I mean really who doesn't love good ole hard driving original rock n roll , I loved these guys and loved their music,,,,it fng rocked out BIG TIME...... i had the privilege of getting to see one of my all time favourite ROCK N ROLL bands AC/DC --- fucking eh mon,,, and being a Canadian I got to see them on July 27 1980 in Sudbury Ontario Canada, , , , , , what a blast that was,,,Id do it again in a heart beat and then some...... hail fuking eh ,,,,what an amazing party and it was like 90+ degrees out and we all went skinny dipping in Ramsey Lake which is a pretty big lake in the middle of Sudbury Ontario ,,,,what a blast that was growing up their as a youngster..... party hard was one of the main motto's !!! hhmmmmm This was the best rock concert of a lifetime,,,,absolutely loved it as did 100+ of my good friends at the time,,,,,what a fing awesome show,,,,I would give anything to see this concert again ANYTIME ANYDAY ANYPLACE :-()
I saw then in 1979. I thought I was going to a Ted Nugent show and ACDC and Scorpions were the warm up bands. I don't even remember the Ted Nugent set. I didn't even know who ACDC were back then. They rocked out big time. Soon after I started hearing them on the radio. I recognized their sound easily. I don't remember anyone talking about the name "Highway to Hell" being a controversial name, or people saying they were Satan worshipers. I just remember that album was getting so much radio play starting September 1979. No body that I knew ever heard of them before that summer. Angus Young is one of the best rock guitar players ever. The way he can bend notes and add the vibrato is like no other player I have ever heard. A few months later Bon Scott died and I couldn'y believe it. I never really like the Brian Johnson singing. Angus just kept getting better. His Playing on the album "Back in Black" was some of his best stuff, in my opinion. After that album they started going down hill. The creative well runs dry eventually. The songs were as good as their earlier material.
Malcom's rhythm guitar chords were the unsung hero too. Listen to 'Whole Lotta Rosie' at River Plate live again. His brain was fried too -- all instinct by then.
acdc Phil Rudd is a rock n roll durm machine so cool 😎 no one can replace Phil the band are not the same without him good luck Phil bon Malcolm rip rock in peace bring back mark Evans 🙏
Chances are the Young brothers never even had a guitar lesson!!!?? The more videos i see of them in action the more i appreciate their music, I think Angus was never appreciated for his AMAZING guitar skills, natural performers!!!!!
I was small kid of 10 and my father brought music tapes from Saudi Araba and started to listen to ACDC and still listen in 2019 but I really like the Bon Scott time. My son is named Scott as well
U wanna hear real rock n roll that kicks ur ass.acdc bon scott is some of the best jamming rock u could hear.sit down shut up and hold on.incredible sound.up there with zep.one of the best.fuck i was so sad.i loved bons scratchy voice.now malcom is gone.still dedicated as my one of my favorite rock bands.
FUCKEN Aussie version of Queen without training wheels. Classy, genius, scientific and pure unadulterated ROCK AND FUCKEN ROLL!!!! AC/DC will live on forever!!!
