I am a product manager for mercedes remote services at r&d center in bangalore , explanation to the voltage temp relation is very apt by munish ji . lot of issues related to tcu deep sleep and low battery even in mercs are very much due to reason mentioned. Good discussion. 👏
@@navmeet7 i m not sure what it means in VW but in layman’s term its the way of staring a vehicle remotely but doesnt start sometimes because of no response to api calls as the battery is dead or low voltage .
@@seemanchalmohanty646 API calls ah.. 😂 you seem like a developer... I am interested to know where else the API calls are used to communicate between the parts Can u please tell me? Because I am from EC and in MCs and MPs the communication is done by machine level language with the use of event calls and are those programmed into API calls with a machine code friendly language?

We need more people like sunderdeep for bringing german companies into limelight and make Indian customers realize what they are missing by not considering Skoda and VW
This is pure technical discussion… Being a person who loves knowing the technological aspects of functionalities used in the vehicles, I am really enjoying each video with you Sunderdeepjee & Munishjee. More importantly, credit should be given to VW/Skoda for getting such features in their low end vehicles for the masses, although most people have termed such feature (Start/Stop) as gimmicky feature. There is so much engineering involved in designing these vehicles. I feel like going back to my engineering days 😊 Great video & kudos to VW/Skoda 👍👌
No word is sufficient for your efforts Sundardeepji. You have given ample opportunity to us to know our VW cars. A special thanks to Munishji for sharing of his outstanding knowledge and explanation.
Hi… hopefully you are reading this comment! Pretty informative videos btw. Wanted you guys to discuss the steering wheel alignment issue that seems to be pretty common in VW Virtus? The driver has to slightly align the steering wheel to the right to maintain the car in a straight line. And no, no amount of wheel alignment/adjustment has resolved this issue. Hoping to get more insight on this and whether or not it has been resolved by the company.
Rather than giving bland features of cars sunderdeep is giving great knowledge. Big channels does have a biased opinion. So promoting true people is necessary for us. It takes a lot of effort to make videos of its not your primary thing to do. It does not give a lot of money that you are motivated to do the effort. But a really revolutionary person try to take time out of his personal life and give you a true word then appreciate it
12:48 Best moment of the entire video 😅 Very nice point explained by Mr Munish about cooling of turbo engines, even my i20 and Tucson CRDi keep their fans running after switching them off to cool their oil-burners but still as a precautionary measure I always idle the engine for a minute after my expressway drives.
Good but your method of keeping engine off for min is more for bumper to bumper traffic. On highways at higher speed your radiator gets cool air directly from outside. On bumper to bumper the rad fan has to run to cool radiator. But very good point on keeping engine just on for next 30 sec to 1 min.
Wonderful explanation about auto off engine and their conditions. If the rain and out side temperatures varies much will not allow engine to off . It is very good feature! I have Slavia 1.5 engine I was not aware of this . Thanks a ton Munish .. wonderful it’s platform to know more about VW & Skoda customers! God bless you .. keep doing wonderful work . I am enjoying your videos..
Hooked to these podcasts kinda discussions. About AC use in Bengaluru: I have always found my Taigun 1L AT decent enough for me. But, sometimes rear occupants complain. What happens is rear AC vents don't throw same level of air like front AC vents, and cooling takes a hit. Keeping temp at around 21-22 degree eases the situation. When I drive alone, I close passengers AC vents and keep the AC at 23-24 degree and it's good for me. Without closing the vent as well, with 1 person in car, 22-23 is good enough for me. Someone who likes it chilly then they may need to lower the temperature. I am not very fond of cold environment. I would still highlight, that AC in pre facelift Baleno I sat in Chennai summer had much effective cooling, set at 24degrees, than the Taigun. So, the AC needs to get more powerful in VW cars.
U r right...but in my old Vento, when driving alone...i keep 25 and maintains excellent cooling , after 10 min i have to lower fan to 10% , as cooling is excellent 👍
Hi Sunderdeep Sir, SSA! I finally binge watched all your podcasts with Manish Sir and liked them so much! Thanks a lot to both of you for providing this invaluable deep insights about our VAG cars. Dear Sir, I want to request you to please ask a question on my behalf to Manish Ji in the next/future episode - “Carbon Deposits on the inner side of Valves in GDI engines, because the fuel is sprayed directly inside the cylinder on the pistons and valves don’t get an option to clean themselves like that in the case of normal fuel injected cars”. I am concerned about this issue that is specific to GDI Engine cars, as I learnt about that after going through a lot of youtube videos on this topic. Thanks 🙏
Start stops works flawlessly on my Virtus. When you move the steering the engine starts itself and people don’t realise this and tend to keep moving their hands on the wheel when the vehicle is stationary and then tend to complain that start stop doesn’t work properly.
Sir the knowledge we are gaining with this type of technical videos we want more of this stuff from both of you as a series on vw technologies. Thank you
The discussion involved will definitely help in understanding the tech involved in VW Škoda cars, most of the rival companies’ salesperson term them gimmicky and so less reliable but then the customers’ ignorance and lack of knowledge force them to go for other brands. That is why it is said that these German cars and their technologies are still unfathomable for us as we are not evolved as car buyers and still find ourselves trapped in features shown to us by auto brands. Kudos to you and Munish ji💐💐
I own a Taigun comfortline, also stop start will not engage if the - AC fan speed is on 3 - if you are waiting on red light to take a u turn, the front wheels are in the direction of the u turn then also it will not engage
Great points regarding Start Stop system .I have been driving Virtus since last 6 months ..Now today, I got answer to all my queries regarding start Stop system( not working sometimes , turbo idling queries, cooling, using battery )You hit the nail on the head . So in a nutshell, we can completely trust Start System ..Thanks for another great Video !👍
Sir I have so much respect for you yk because the information you have the enlightenment which you are giving to the common public and the non car enthusiasts who are just falling in the dark side of Indian car market i.e Future Funda - they are providing car with cheap durability and with greater on paper features and are less expensive so they should know what to buy and what not. Hats off to you for great work. I personally own the 1.2 MPI Polo Manual 2015 model. Driven 92000 kms across Bihar. Love from Patna. Cheers. ❤ ( Hope you reply ) 😄
Just by listening to these videos I speak what I learnt in front of my friends and family They started calling me car guru 🙈😂 All credit goes to manishji and sundar paji 👏👏👏
@Sunderdeep ji! Namaste🙏🏼 I am a Volkswagen fan too but there are certain things which needs URGENT ATTENTION from Volkswagen. Auto Start-Stop System is way too aggressive and engine shuts down when slowed down to cross the massive speed breaker. As you have a direct contact with VW Chief, please escalate this issue and ask them to fix. Thanks ji...enjoying your content. I drive Virtus GT
Munishji, I am impressed by your in depth knowledge of automobiles. Can you please elaborate why the skoda kushaq manual has long clutch travel. Is it a common trait among all VW/skoda manual cars? How to deal with this trait of a car especially in heavy traffic conditions?
Sir apart from how good and safe these cars are, no matter how much you pamper these cars. Its a machine and it will definetly give you problems afters 10 yrs. Its a fact and vw group is a luxury type of brand it will be hard on your pocket compare to other car brands after a certain kms. If its your choice that you want to drive a great car then vw is your brand if you want a car that give a low ride quality and machine and you want it to be economical then go for other brands. So either way choose wisely. I genuinely appreciate the effort sunderdeep is giving. To give You better knowledge. I am owner of rapid, fabia, audi and own a innova crysta. So take my advice guys i know what difference between toyota vw and other brands has. After 120k -130k kms or 10 yrs these cars will demand. money. Thats why you can see that sunderdeep has bought a skoda slavia when his polo completed 10yrs as well as 1lakh kms.
Sundardeepji and Munishji - I got my slavia 1.0 updated for the AC fix. AC has improved but I’m noticing the below 2 changes and I’m not alone. I’m part of mycarhelpline slavia/virtus group. Most of them are complaining the same and we have driven atleast 100-200 kms after update 1. Pick up at lower gears have reduced but feels smooth at transitions. When I pass through the same humps before it used to pass through even with third gear but now have to come down to 2nd and that also feels a bit sluggish 2. Mileage clearly has come down by atleast 1.5km/L This is a clear difference Apparently service centres are promising another update which will come another 3 months of time
Yet another wonderful session full of exciting learning and knowledge . The more the information the more the interest to know more and more and more the love for our cars. This series should never end. Loving it more with every episode
The battery also don’t to crank longer with auto start stop because when the engine is shut down during auto start stop the crank position when the engine stops is stored and this information is used for quick start of the engine during auto start stop. So you must have noticed that during auto start stop the engine starts in fraction of a sec compared to when doing cold start of the engine. Plus all primary electrical functions are kept running and these cars have capacitor to store some amps so that during auto car start the battery voltage don’t drop drastically causing other electrical components starve of the min operating voltage.
Great video explaining the start/stop system. I had this doubt about this feature impacting the tsi engine. Got it clarified in this video.. i hav anothe question, when we are in a traffic signal which mode (for a torque converter) we should put the gear? Asking this doubt as i am a novice in using TC. Coming for a manual swift to taigun 1.0 AT. Really grateful to Sunderdeep ji and Munish jee to spreading such good content to people. God bless
Bhai itna intezar toh humne GOT ke seasons kaa nahi kiya tha, jatna apke agle episode ka karte hai. Waiting for Munish ji's Passat review as I Love that car but fear for the maintenance part.
This start stop issue I also faced and for this visited Skoda service station they said the same thing which Munish ji said however, Munishji explained much more in simpler way now I understood the start stop system how it works and respective algorithms. Thank you so much to you guys. PS - falling in love more and more for my Slavia
Quite informative and helpful. Request you to also cover Auto Stop Start feature, issues it causes in bumper to bumper traffic and possible solution by VW. I believe if this component is re calibrated to cutoff after 4 seconds of idling it will become more useful.
Very informative and technical discussion you had specifically for the users of turbo engines, no doubt they are gasoline or diesel engines and stop start feature and really understand the technology which vw or brand like fiat or gm are providing from last many years which the common popular brand are so far not mitigating. This in-depth knowledge are very useful for choosing the brand which we want to use for long time trouble free ❤
VW and Škoda should be indebted to you guys for speaking on the issues that are generally left unattended 👍👏 Would like to meet you guys once I come over to Punjab and you are available.
Could you discuss ecu remapping and/or aftermarket tuning with him? We need someone as knowledgeable as him to explain the benefits and disadvantages of the same.
At 15 min temperature start stop issue is very important to me to knowledge well. Very nice 👌 video 👌 📹. Great discuss with deep knowledge 👌. Lovely 😍 👌 series.
Thank You Munish ji for telling about start/stop function. I was confused because of its irregular working, sometimes car does'nt turn off and sometimes gets turned on even without pressing clutch or moving steering, I spoke to Skoda Service for same and even they were confused and gave useless explanation
@@munishsharma96 Munish ji in your first video you told about a lubricant of indian oil that you put in our vento while refueling. Do you suggest any such lubricant for current Slavia 1.0
I am also annoyed by Start/Stop System in my Karoq , sometimes it would turn off the engine even when the vehicle is in motion around 10 kmph and then if you suddenly try to accelerate you feel a jerk which makes me feel like the engine is trying to coming back to life and trying to cope up with my accelerator input which eventually makes me feel for a split second the car is struggling to maintain it's motion (This happens mostly when either you were about to stop at a red light then as the car slowed down the light turned green and when a big lorry is ahead of you almost stopping then you find a gap to overtake but the start/stop messed up and you missed the chance to get past due to oncoming traffic on the other lane.....) Even my Father gets annoyed due to this whenever he drives the car.
Love to watch your videos.Always delivering knowledgeable content paaji👍🏻.i own a kushaq 1l automatic and i get to know my car better because of your videos and i am proud of my decision by going for skoda.
Good discussion.....i understood most of it coz i m electronics from long time.... Also i would not opt for auto start stop....as it affects battery life..... Regarding AC cooling issues i don't have any in my 11 years Vento..... cooling is awesome.....
This moment 12:45 makes my day blissful 😂 my whole family surprisingly see why i am laughing. Hat's off to you guy❤ For such Valuable & pure technical knowledge sharing 🙏😊
nice blog!! Auto on-off feature is super proactive, it activates even when car moving at slow speed. One extra thing, does underbody engine protection add to the safety to delicate DSG since MQB 2 platform cars miss on it? any threat on engine or DSG gearbox bcs of it?
No sir. Actually the ground clearance of VAG is well packed nd class leading. Some 180 mm for sedan which is something amazing. I dnt think it cn rip its belly on bad roads
@@munishsharma96 Thanks a lot for your comments. I would actually mean if water splashing from road while driving during rainy season could lead damages to sensitive DSG set up. I have clocked around 5000 in a month and never faced any problem except the notorious cracking noise from the hard suspensions. The suspension travel is minimal and while crossing small pothole of hump, it would make such a bad noise as if axle or wheel would fall apart.🤪
Good day to both of you and New year wishes. Inam using Tata Tiago Diesel 1.05 L Model is XT It completed 4 years and 80 Thousand kms. This time I want to use Fully synthetic engine oil buy Tata service centre doesn't have this option. They provide on 5W30. Please suggest which brand and what grade shall I buy. Your suggestions matter to me.
Mighty New year wishes to you too Sir 🎉 Thanks for the comment Would love to help u for sure. Since ur Tiago car is fitted with 1.05 L Revotorq engine which needs 5w30 ACEA A5/BS 4 litres of engine oil. My first pick is always fully synthetic engine oil and will surely suggest you the best stuff available on the planet as per the toughest quality, strong molecule and unsurpassed engine Lubrication. I am writing 3-4 engine oils as per the top priority and chronology.. Which you can pick as per the availability 1. Motul Eco-Tec Plus 5w30 2. Liquimoly Molygen 5w30 3. Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5w30 These are top of the line stuffs Below are normal but good stuffs 4. Shell Helix HX8 5w30 5. Castrol Magnatec Stop Start 5w30 I hope this will help u sir
Bhai.. Also check with Manish Bhai if we should wait for few seconds during cold start as it starts with 1500 rpm and then drops to 1000 rpm after 45 seconds approx.. is it fine to move the car even before rpm drops to 1000 ? Or better to wait
Sir thr is no negative to use 91 octane petrol. No issie wid reliability too. Yes xp95 is better n recommended esp in turbo engines because higher octane rating increase combustion efficiency as turbo engines spins fast nd hv very less time to ignite finely atomised fuel in combustion chamber. So the blast nd energy produced by more refined nf well burning fuel will translate to increased acceleration, no knocking nd fuel efficiency obviously
Nice technical discussion by Manish Ji. Hope to see more videos for sure. I do request a discussion on low voltage states of the battery which according to threads in team BHP leads to electronic issues in German cars especially.
@@sidz0001 no nothing. Its just electronic actuator installed above head in tapet cover controlling hydraulic lifters of cylinder valves side by side controlling Fuel delivery and injector triggering in precise pure electronic manner. Nothing to do with reliability
Another good insightful video. Munish , one learning for all is to read the user manual in detail, thanks for that. I had one observation in general (not VW or skoda). You mentioned the turbo temp is in the range of 1000 degrees when being pushed, so can this be a higher risk of fire incase of an accident. For eg the recent case of Rishabh Pants merc getting burnt. Just curious to know and how do companies try to mitigate it. If you have any insights on this element it will be helpful. Thanks
Actually car engine temperature goes high when the car is turned of after a long drive because the coolant is not working so usually the system starts the fan and you can see in a thermal camera also if you will turn on a car it will be much cooler then if it is turned of just then.
What about scrap policy should i hold my 2010 i20 now and sold it next year or i should get rid of it right now . Your opinion . And please make video about it ❤
Sir mujhe vase automatic wale mai AC issue tha but service centre mai dikhaya in around July 2022 (this was before the software update) and uske baad se toh koe cooling and tripping related issues nahi face hue hai
Munish Ji and Sunder Ji after watching all of your videos and owning Rapid & Superb for a decade my third car is again a Skoda Slavia. As Munish ji always says when you drive a car you carry an environment so the kind of environment VW & Skoda gives with 125 years of experience is difficult for competitors to even think. PS don't bother about the duration of your videos being an automotive enthusiast I love & enjoy watching them
I own a Polo 1.0 TSI automatic 2022 model. Should i use premium petrol (95 octane) or normal petrol ? As there is a sticker on fuel lid saying RON/ROZ 95. I usually drive my car with engine speed below 3000 rpm and only hit redline twice or thrice during long journeys. Please help.
Paaji ek honest request h jitna ache se yeh ac wala issue explain kia h woh EPC wala bhi kr do... Online we see all different news saying high octane fuel use kro etc etc so want to know what was the actual reason and how it was fixed in kushaq taigun and should we worry more or not
Today I faced AC issue with Kushaq ..where AC didn't started even after good speed 2..3 KM also and we all were boiling ..So as per your Video..We should increase RPM after start ..and then start AC not Imidiately after start ..is It ?
Can you please find out if vw tsi engine have additional Port injection along with direct injection in the cylinder like some other gdi engines from other brands.
Skoda kushaq owners manual recommends to use RON95 petrol. However, it clearly says to use min RON91 petrol. Please advise if it is worth it to use slightly expensive RON95 petrol. Does RON 91 affect the engine in the long term?
Thr is no long term effect on engine with the use of either 91 or 95 But yes 95 has significant benefits. Better combustion, no knocking nd obviously better acceleration nd power delivery with Fuel economy
Also sirji I wanted to check - If I keep headlights at auto (night time) and idle start stop kick in and shuts the engine But headlights will not shut off. Is it recommended to manually shut off headlights and manually on them after we start the engine. This was followed during halogen times will it still hold good Few mechanics tell that we shouldn’t turn on the engine while headlights are on at ignition level
Sir nw LED setups are coming which are highly energy efficient nd are significantly less power consuming. Watts are much much lower den halogens so nothing to worry
The Start-Stop system algorithm is definitely faulty. When I am trying and slow down due to a speed breaker, it stops the engine & then immediately (without even a second lapse) starts the engine on its own without me pressing the accelerator; this while I am still slightly pressing the brakes to slow down the car & it has not yet crossed the speed breaker. This has happened too many times & the first thing I do now is to disable the start-stop. I like my engine to be running till I stop it so it's anyways irritating to me. I would prefer to disable it permanently. Once I kept it on in bumper-to-bumper traffic & the battery volt got slightly reduced at the end of the journey. I feel these things are introduced to squeeze out fuel efficiency but I would rather spend a little more on fuel rather than let battery (and possibly engine) suffer. 1.5 Slavia DSG.
Got the understanding that in automatic, because the ECU and other electronics take the control of the mechanical part, so does that means if we have driven the car for long in an average of 2500 to 3000 RPM, we do not need to idle after the trip?
