hey doc, i have had this EXACT INJURY in mixed martial arts i did NOT get surgery and i still have a disfigured color bone sticking out and EVEN STILLL competed I'm mixed martial arts with this injury its been 2 years without surgery still and the pain es extremely MINIMAL to none but there is major discomfort i plan to get surgery sometime soon will there be an issue with gaining back my full range of motion ?
@@Itsjoanyo I don’t think getting range back is an issue. There is residual weakness in external rotation against gravity but you r probably compensating. The full reduction may not come thu due to delay
Brother if you're referring to an acromion decomprssion, my advice.... do NOT do it. I went in for a labrum tear repair in December 2022, and during the procedure they did a subacromial decompression where he shaved off some of the bone... I cannot tell you the can of worms that opened of terrible symptoms. My trapezius no longer has sufficient support and my neck yanks to the opposite side (left), further compressing my already damaged discs. My deltoid cant grow muscle properly, and cannot keep itself upright anymore. My should falls, and its throwing off my entire balance. I think he caused suprascaular nerve damage, because my bicep / essentially entire right side of my back has significant muscle atrophy. Could be diff from your scenario if you actually injured that area, but just the shaving of the bone they performed on me has ruined the entire upper body on my right side. I was an athlete, and I find it hard to play tennis anymore. I am looking for an acromion grafting revision procedure at this point to reverse what he removed. Idk if this helps. Oh and i have a ton of scapular dyskinesia now.

Sir I have same problem but 10 months is passed away and i didn't get surgery but now i planning for it,, my question is that should i go for surgery and after geted done , can I lift heavy weight ... please let me know
Sir, my doc (Dr. Arun Kannan) is suggesting me to do an open distal clavicle resection with CC ligament reconstruction. I had sustained Neer type II B distal clavicle fracture 1 year ago, was treated conservatively by a local doctor, but the fracture did not heal and I still feel pain while lifting heavy weights. So I sought help from Dr. Kannan. Will this technique be helpful in my case? Please sir reply. Thanks.
Souvik, A fracture is different from a dislocation & it depends on whether your Doc is planning to reconstruct the ligament along with excision it may make sense
