What is your favourite Assassin's Creed game?
Assassin's Creed Origins is the 8th entry in the Assassins Creed Franchise, probably. I have lost count.

Origins was the only RPG AC game I could get into, I absolutely adore the game and it's a nice revenge story that reminds me of Ezios. Also just simply one of the most beautiful games I've ever played.

Formula of protagonist in series is about loss of loved one(s). After the loss character want to become an assasin or leave behind his old life. Altair lost his creed and belief, ezio his family, connor his family tribe and achilles, edward wanted to be rich and lost everyone in this cause and most of innocent people got hurt, arno his father, fryes their father(i dont know i hate syndicate), bayek and aya their son. Kassandra/Alexios and Eivor are very different cased. After origins ubisoft forgot how to make a great protagonist and wanted to chose to follow "our choice is matter" formula.

Forgot to mention how Bayek is one of the best Assassin's Creed protagonists, right up there with Ezio, hes genuinely funny, likeable, has a strong sense of pride and duty to protect those around him but also has this undertone of primal rage and need for vengeance for the murder of his son.
@jtmax908
@jtmax908 Год назад
I’d say Eivor is up there too. He was always a really cool character to me with some pretty witty lines.
@devinosland359
@devinosland359 Год назад
@@jtmax908 eivor is pretty cool, ive only played male eivor and he brings an interesting take to not just vikings but as an assassins creed protagonist. He's not the main guy, he has Sigurd who is his jarl and ultimately does as he says but is still very much his own person. He's witty and pretty wise and often is pretty soft spoken which is not what you'd expect from an average viking. I don't think he's as strong as a character as bayek though, he still has this tone of arrogance and superiority type personality, which I can totally understand with him being a viking but he just doesn't seem quite as genuine and fleshed out as bayek. Bayek has such a huge range of emotions that we get to see and is genuinely a servant and protector of the people, he talks to everyone with respect unless they are truly an idiot or can't be trusted. He feels deeply for those around him and shares in their struggles. Eivor just doesn't have a lot of these qualities, it's not necessarily a knock against him. Again, Eivor is a viking in England where he has to kill and raid and plunder to build a new home so it makes sense how he can't be as sympathetic as he is atleast in some way a part of many of these people's problems. I definitely think evior is underrated as a character but still not quite at the level of Bayek because he just gets to show so much depth in his character.

Origins should have been a soft reboot gameplay-wise. I fully expected Ubisoft to give Bayek & Aya a trilogy, where Part 2 and 3 REINTRODUCE core gameplay elements of the AC series like the parkour, social stealth, silent assassinations, blending in the crowds, black-box assassination missions etc. It would be so cool to see Bayek's journey from a Medjay warrior to a real assassin who learns how to operate stealthily. Wasted opportunity.
@splatmaster2007

That actually sounds like it would have been awesome. If somebody else was given three mainline games of character development, Ezio might have some real competition for best Assassin.
@BruhMoment-1267
@BruhMoment-1267 Год назад
There was a perfect set-up too. Aya was in the sea so the 2nd installment could have some boat additions, and she was also in rome if I remember. They did add the DLC for Bayek but I feel at least The Hidden Ones DLC could've been an entirely new game if they just sort of added to the story a bit.
@CinematicSeriesGaming
@CinematicSeriesGaming Год назад
@@BruhMoment-1267 The sequels seemed like a no-brainer. Origins even has an open ending that teased Aya in Rome. The sequel could naturally pick up on the Piece of Eden arc (the Apple was lost somewhere in the desert and this old lady from the CotP DLC said similar sightings have been observed in Judea). Kawab also said he would go to Judea to oppose the Romans. So we have a good setup. In the 2nd game, Bayek goes to Judea to search for the lost Apple and to continue his fight against the Roman occupation and the Order of the Ancients as the Hidden One. In the last game, Bayek travels to the Italian Peninsula and to the city of Rome itself. There, he reunites with Aya and helps her lead the Roman brotherhood in the fight against the Emperor Octavian, as he's the new leader of the Order after Ceasar was killed. At some point, Aya kills Cleaopatra using the snake (like the statue in the Auditore Villa showed) and Bayek assassinates Octavian. We'd also see the Esio of Cyrene! Bayek met him in Cyrene when he was a boy, and then met him years later in Thebes, when he was a smuggler. Bayek sent this kid to Rome to be trained as an Assassin under Aya. This means we could see him again as one of the allies. Perhaps he could be one of the Assassins that we get to command as Bayek! Like come on! The story and gameplay write themselves! We could have 2-player co-op mode where one person is Bayek and other is Aya. Both playable characters could have slightly different animations and abilities (Bayek being more brutal and stronger in combat, while Aya is faster, more agile and better at stealth). We could have the Brotherhood system where you recruit Assassins, upgrade them, take them on missions and command them while you're in Rome. Both games could explore the creation of the remaining tenets of the Assassin Brotherhood and explain why Amunet was remembered and Bayek was forgotten. Perhaps there is some interesting conflict between the two and Bayek is erased from history. Or maybe he leaves the brotherhood in the end and erases his legacy himself. Gameplay-wise, both sequels could add a lot of great features. We could have more sailing, assassination missions, actual parkour, more inconspicuous Assassin robes for Bayek, crowd blending etc. The 2nd game would have AC1 vibe, being set in Judea, and the last part would feature a large part of the Italian peninsula, with a lot of small towns, Roman camps, cities, forests, hills, and of course - the city of Rome, which would be the largest urban location. I strongly believe that Ubisoft should have done this INSTEAD of making Odyssey and Valhalla. The series had the opportunity to finally go back to greatness. It could have had a 2nd iconic character like Ezio Auditore. An epic trilogy spanning 3 distinct areas of the ancient world - Egypt, Judea and Rome. I bet AC fans would start CARING again. The series needs solid protagonists! It doesn't work as an anthology where every game is a standalone story with some generic protagonist. Bayek was the best AC protagonist since Edward and he was ROBBED. It's been years and I'm still angry about it. It's one of the biggest blunders in gaming history IMO. Such a waste.

After I quadruple checked to make sure they were both from the same franchise i decided to play ac3 which i wouldn’t have done if it wasn’t for odyssey being so horrible in comparison that i bought ac3 just out of disbelief that it came before odyssey. Well after ac3 i got into the other older games and loved all of them. Thats why i find it so funny when new fans say that i only defend the old games because of “a nostalgia trip” when in reality i probably picked up the franchise after they did 😂

It's also interesting to note that the player character was a lot more realistically responsive to changes in motion in the older games, whereas Bayek simply rotates his body like a robot. I know this from empirical experiments - when loading into games like AC3, I would rapidly shift the movement stick left and right to see how funny it looked as the character on screen would adjust their left and right legs accordingly. But when loading into Origins, Bayek does what I pointed out - simply statically rotate his body.

Open combat was so easy in fact, it's preferable over stealth. Why sneak and blend around for 10 mins when you could walk in and kill evrryone in 2 mins? Because you want to *FEEL* like an Assassin, no other reason to not go open combat.

Where Origins is about Bayek's rage, Odyssey is more about the Eagle Bearer's family tragedy and how they choose to handle it. The fact that I as a player am choosing whether or not to kill my father inherently makes the choice more compelling imo. Not that every story needs player agency, but when it's done well it highlights the incredible advantage video games have over other media, and Odyssey does it very well

I think that part that kills me with the rpg games is sneak attacking only does bonus damage it doesn’t actually assassinate them unless your level and gear is high enough

I honestly don't really agree with the skill aspect considering thats per player 😂. I had no skill issue because I focused purely on stealth. I think the game actually punishes you for not being stealth based. Sure you CAN go all out swords blazing but if you just take your time you'll realize the stealth route is the way

You guys can say whatever you want. You can say that this game doesn't remind you of assassin's creed. But the story, protagonist and setting of this game is peak. And that's not negotiable

I'd argue that even though the gear is important to the combat system, it actually requires more skill than previous AC games that only required the player to push one button

Yeah Origins was cool it was the last Assassin’s Creed I’ve played. I wasn’t a fan of the RPG play style (it worked for Gow) but for Assassin’s Creed it took away from the core

Ehh, I wouldn’t say a crux of it is being the leveling system causing u to miss out on certain areas. Reason being is because u can level up to get to those areas by playin the content in the other areas. During my playthrough I 100% every area of the map before I got to Alexandria. N I disagree with the whole overwhelming map too, I think all of their RPG styles games have it. But Origins def having the least of that feeling

I prefer odyssey. It is less stressful for me. easy to use, inventory, even the ability upgrades. The graphics are better too and the attacks are faster. also I like that life and loot detections are easier for me too. And the ships are beeetter.
@mjolnirbaldur5770
@mjolnirbaldur5770 Год назад
Lol I'm the opposite, just looking at the inventory in odyssey gives me a headache, you have different builds for stealth, combat and whatever else there is, you have tones of random weapons and items you pick up, you need tonnes of random materials and crystals to level everything up. It just confuses me. If I play the whole game I'd probably get used to it but the menu and abilities in origins were a lot more straightforward and a lot less grindy.
@andiamora
@andiamora Год назад
@@mjolnirbaldur5770 Just play it more and youll like it. For example, odyssey has ships, like huuuge and origin or valhalla have boats and I dont enjoy seeing them. also just the details are better like odyssey crew sings haha. maybe Im too softy about those cuz Im a woman but just try and reach higher level. with the crystals, ore, woods etc necessary for upgrades, theyre easy to get once your around level 30 cuz youll get high level items and quest that you can get more money to use to buy more materials for upgrades.

I played the first phase of Assassin’s Creed(the original story) but never finished any of them. It feels bland for me. I’m kinda more into like Witcher style game(hack n slash RPG). Then this new Phase of Assassin’s Creed come out. Origin, Odyssey and Valhalla. I enjoyed them so much and played all(finished both Origin and Odyssey along with the whole DLCs, currently playing Valhalla). The only thing is, you kinda get bored with it sometime because of it being too massive and you can get drawn away of the main story because of this.
