My friend just had her religious profession last week. She is now wearing the Veil. She came from a wealthy family, was educated in the best university in my country, but chose to gave it all up to take the vow of poverty and serve the lord. Indeed who says money and fame is everything. Some people take a vow of living poor to take care or the old and the sick and actually find fulfillment
That's how it is... LOVING GOD and having Him capture your heart, mind and soul is the highest thing ON EARTH! She was very smart and made very good decisions for herself. As you get older you realize that materialism cannot MAKE you happy... on the contrary. Finding peace is right in front of each one of us... it's a matter of giving up this earth and living for what GOD wants of each one. TRUE PEACE is hidden because we are to FULL of vanity, pride and self.

She sounds very happy with her decision, but I was moved when Don visited the abbey and as he left, she seemed to watch him with a longing, and then as he drove off, she turned to the statue of Christ and looked lost or sad. I know she was engaged to Don and they remained close until his passing, but she must be happier with her decision to stay at the abbey. That is what counts-happiness. That segment was very touching though, and I would love to know what she was thinking during that scene.

I think it would have been better if she titled it: God is bigger than Elvis. To be honest that's what I thought the title was. When I found out what the title actually was I was a little shocked. I'm not offended by her choice though. She is clearly a woman of God.
