No sympathy for Syracuse or BC here. They've been taking Power 5 football money for years, but refused to invest it back into their football programs. They've leeched off of Clemson and FSU's TV ratings to get lucrative TV revenue that they never would have gotten on the merits of their programs...Swafford was an imbecile for bringing them into the conference to begin with, but that doesn't matter now. It's all going away and now they will have to make due with what they deserve on their merits.

Miami has no market. They have to give tickets away and still don't fill their stadium. That is the difference between them and FSU. Their fans are indifferent when they aren't a top 5 team.

Point taken. Also, part of that is there is nothing in Tallahassee other than FSU, just like Gainesville and UF. Miami is a thriving city with shit tons of stuff to do. You really have to fight hard to keep people's attention and earn their money. Miami fans are not going to show up on the regular if the university is not even serious about the football program. Now that they are once again serious, we will see if there is an uptick in attendance.

Miami is a big TV draw even in losing years. 20% lower than FSU still, but upper half/quad of BIG/SEC. UM is finally spending SEC money on FB. When we win, we’ll be top 5-10 in viewership esp playing a BIG/SEC schedule

Because as much as these guys like to pretend they know what’s going on they actually know nothing. All of their info comes from “twitter sources”. These people all claim winning matters while in the very same sentence saying the SEC and B1G want UNC and Virginia. The truth is nobody except the Conference Presidents, school AD’s and lawyers actually know where everyone is going.

I have a question. The Big 12 is set for the base schools to get around $50 per school with the additions to get around 12 million less than that number this summer. The contract if anyone read it states the following ESPN will Pro rate up to 4 Schools. Fox will renegotiate which they did and agreed to pay same as ESPN. HERE IS THE QUESTION! If Big 12 takes on any ACC schools, That means both ESPN and Fox must renegotiate the worth of the Big 12. What would be the effect and possible new number that could be deployed? Second Question! People have a short memory. Both FSU and Clemson have for years have asked to join the Big 12. There was a Big effort just before the current bad ACC contract was done. But Bowlsby refused to act in Big 12 interest as ACC hired him help fix their issues. Should the Big 10 and SEC decide to stay at their current number punting the expansion down the road a few more years, Could the Big 12 just take 2? That theoretically could bump the payout for the Big 12 to close to 60 million a year would it not? The Big 10 contract is not as big as media is reporting and that is now proving to be somewhere in the low to mid 60s number as they are still negotiating and working on the flawed math of the agreement. Big 10 is waiting on ND and one other as the next move. SEC has stated they already have all the valuable markets in the SE locked up and is not expected to take any new teams. What is the take given the realities not lies and crap that is thrown out to see what hits the wall?

Something that has not been stated is that back when VT tried to get into the ACC, there was a push by many to have Syracuse in instead, but the governor and the legislature of VA stepped in and fought to have VT put in instead because of the economy of SW VA is so linked to UVA and VT being together. Remember, Syracuse eventually got in, but not initially. I think VT and UVA will be a package if they go anywhere. Personally, I feel, "Let whichever schools want to leave go, and keep those who wish to stay." These conferences are getting way to big. What makes good rivals are playing each other annually, not the big money that is being tossed around at the expense of the students.

If the B1G were smart they would target unhappy top brands for invitation. FSU (not happy with ACC $) and Texas A&M (unhappy Texas joining the SEC). Add FL & TX and B1G would have a presence in all the big population states.

Miami is an AAU institution, 5.3B operating budget, football viewership that’s is higher than UNC and UVA combined and about 20% below FSU/Clemson (in our worst years). UM has an SEC/BIG athletic budget (smack in the middle to upper quarter). Miamis upside is huge. Location, recruiting, NIL, money, media market… FSU gets you North FL, South Fla is a different animal. Both FSU/UM would give BIG a lions share of FL superseding UF/SEC.

Firstly, I'm sure you know Miami's academics are no where near any of those three. Secondly, GT and UNC are research top 20 schools (in the country). UVA is better in that department than Miami but doesn't absolutely dwarf Miami the way the other two do. For athletics, UNC has BB... they are the number 1 BB brand in the country. In review, that is in the country. BB may not drive the bus but this program is the best for viewership. They get football levels of viewership for the BB. UNC/UVA would give them a new state and instate subscriber fees for the BTN and SECN... which Miami (and GT) would only do for the B1G, operating under the assumption FSU isn't their first choice. All three are larger public schools (than Miami). All three have large, wealthy alumni bases. GT exists in a better market (top CFB market in the country), which is at least a tiny plus. All three have their own stadiums.

This channel has some of the most inconsistent takes I have seen and often uses conflicting evidence in his arguments . Why is Virginia a "lock" for the Power 2? The whole video they were saying football moves realignment, not basketball (see their argument for why Duke is not wanted by the Power 2). Virginia has no football history and is consistently bottom 3 in football viewership despite the strong basketball brand. Same applies for UNC, but not as severely. Very mediocre ACC football team (would be a Power 2 bottom feeder), elite basketball brand, but does fit the desirable criteria this channel claims. Based off this criteria, Miami, NC State, and Virginia Tech be more desirable to their superior TV viewership numbers, fan supports, and football history. I don't have a problem with them claiming that Virginia or UNC to be the most desirable to the Power 2 outside of Clemson and FSU, that may be the truth, but the argument that they are good football programs is blatantly and embarrassingly false.

Even more than it surprised me when they didn't pursue the Southern California teams and Oregon to be a part of the SEC or Baylor, TCU, Houston and Oklahoma State to the SEC. Even if they were to change the name of the conference. It should be about making money not the name of the conference. It not like about even being genius. Why are some of those schools going to Big 10 as opposed to the SEC is perplexing considering all of the money 🤑💰💲💱💸 to be made. Also, NCSU may end up in the Big 12, and they would be lucky to get them cause they are a program that continues to grow in success across the board as does the city and region they exist in. Unlike many BIg 12 schools. NCSU is currently in 7th in the country in Directors cup standing and football will be preseason top 20.
