ACC Spotlight: Can NC State Stand Out From the Pack in Realignment? | SEC | Big 10 | Big 12 

Hopefully in an ACC break away conference with FSU and Clemson.

Doing my best. Finding the guests is the hard part. And yet NC is a desirable state for these conferences to get into.

There's so much going on behind the scenes, which makes predicting this impossible. But I do think your scenarios have all seem realistic.

Agreed, UNC is a major domino that has to fall before many of the other next moves can be determined. I could see them in either the SEC or Big 10.

But perception is reality. If you asked 100 random college football fans who had a better diurnal brand between NCST and Duke, in guessing the vast majority say NCST.

Same question I have. You don't think UNC to the Big 10 and NCST to the SEC is a possibility?

Carolina hasn’t won an ACC Championship since 1981 season! They are no good in football!

NCS would be like UNC, USC,Vanderbilt ,just another team for the big boy to beat up on

But that's what they want. Schools that bring in value because of good enough brand and market but won't actually threaten to dethrone them.

@@JohnOakley-nc7pg yes I am aware the last time UNC won the ACC. I am not claiming UNC is a blue blood in Football, but a solid program yes. When you have so many other titles in so many other sports it’s hard to be elite at everything.

If I had 3 guesses, it would be 1) UNC and State to SEC as a package deal, 2) UNC to Big10 and State to SEC, 3) State to Big 12 regardless of UNC. I agree I don’t think State is left out; Big 12 is the floor. I just thought his overall tone was pretty negative and down. He was very down on NC State leadership for last 20 years, and while I agree some of that is warranted, Debbie Yow did a tremendous job in raising our overall athletic program. He was also very depressed about the thought of competing in the SEC. And while some of those teams might be a step up in competition, you can’t be the best if you don’t compete with the best consistently. I am excited about the trajectory of the program and I am optimistic in the future rather than pessimistic thinking we will never compete with the SEC.

I don't see them going to the same conference. And the NCST fans I've met tend to be very frustrated. It seems like there's a lot of potential and expectations that aren't met

I'm not a fan of how realignment is shaking out either. And while it is insane those schools will pull in so much money, I'm not sure they will ne able to put it to good use regularly.

They feel like a school that have a chance to at least be competitive in most games.
