Accelerate Stop! Not today, Accelerate Go only. Not for the faint of heart.

We depart 8A7 in a Baron after some avionics work. Thorough run up and off we go. Should we lose an engine at Vr ( Our rotate speed) we would not be able to stop on the remaining runway. Not a lot of great spots to stop after the runway ends either. Lose it at Vr and we are going flying. Good times!

Nice takeoff. Need faith in the flying gods. 😊 Suspect the long landing being either your request to get to hangar further down the airport, closed taxiway or possible tower request.

@@chriskoppel3940 I mentioned I was going to MRO side and he allowed me to land long for an easier taxi.

Oh, man, it would be difficult to clear those trees on one engine on a cool day like today. Imagine max gross on a high DA day. @jeromecannon8575, you're a better man than I, Gunga Din, flying out of there every day. 😬

Yikes, V1 cut = 1.) overrun the runway, 2.) clip the trees, 3.) VMC roll. No thank you.

throttles in the middle??? that had to have only been for a few model years

It's a holdover from the older twin beech airplanes with geared engines.

Explain please…. Accelerate stop/go? Haven’t heard that one before…
@ProPilotPete
@ProPilotPete 12 дней назад
@@Parr4theCourse some refer to it as balanced field length, which basically means you can accelerate up to your normal rotation speed, about 84 in the Baron, then lose an engine at that worse possible moment, then have enough runway to stop. The app I’m using (instead of diving into performance charts in the POH) said I needed 3300 feet for acceleration stop. This runway goes slightly downhill which it factors in. I only needed 1300 feet for accelerate go, which is I’d accelerate to 84 and then if I lost an engine I’d be forced to go, climb out on one engine. You then have to verify you can out climb terrain, or trees as in this airports case. The app has those numbers as well. I prefer to have the accelerate stop numbers because it’s much easier to abort the takeoff if you lose one. Just something to think about. A twin will always out perform a single if both engines are working. Have one quit it’s a whole other story!

This really applies to light twins. The jet and turbo props are in a different category, different options when you have a lot of power.
