Due to that being a Chamberlain Security+ 2.0 opener, it does not allow for simple contact closure. To use contact closure, you have to solder two wires into a pre-wired button.
@@vrryan6 yes in Canada all devices are bonded or at least plastic devices the box they are mounted to will be bonded if it’s just for a demo system it doesn’t need to be though but the panels still should be grounded
Hey, that looks like a really cool system! Also, could you send me the parts you used for the control panel, RFID reader, lock, and anything else you used in the system? I'd love to recreate it. Thanks!
@@trevgood4171 No it’s not as long as I follow some pretty basic precautions it will be just fine. Simple things like don’t use it for email or web surfing. This PC is dedicated for access control application and my security cameras. I’m using this older PC that would otherwise be going to the scrapyard to extend its useful life for use with a dedicated applications with little to no access to the Internet why spend the money to upgrade it’s an old dell OptiPlex That probably can’t even handle windows 10 or 11 if I keep the endpoint protection up to date as long as it supports Windows 7 that will be an added defence along with a good router/firewall don’t use an administrator account for normal use and keep the RDP ports closed. I appreciate the concern but for what it’s for it’s fine
People are telling you to update to windows 10. I do not recommend. Windows 7 was the last good windows and windows 10 is garbage. Microsoft just doesn't care anymore. Also my windows 11 laptop is unstable and has many bugs and glitches. I would use windows 7 but the programs i use don't support it anymore.
