Rendille are keeping the original Somali tradition alive. For example, Somalis and most Cushitic people (Somali, Oromo, Afar, etc) worshipped a God of the sky named “Waaq” before Islam. For example, are Somali word like Barwaaqo (bountiful),and there are two towns named Ceel Waaq (God’s Well) and Cabud Waaq (Worship God). Also, Rendilla are camel herders and live in huts 🛖 just like Somalis do - in Somali huts is called “Aqal Somali”. Fun fact, Somalis are the first to domesticate camels. Lastly, as a Somali, I understood some of the conversations they were having. This was an eye opening for me to see how close Rendille ppl are to Somali ppl. Thanks for sharing it.
@@wzupppp Yes, but there are still many Somali words in their language, iam from Somalia and i could understand many words they said because they were using many words from the Somali language.
Thank you Korean Communications commission for doing this marvelous job, my people the Rendille are less known in the outside world and their history has not been recording though still so intact.
Iam from Somalia, and i could understand many words of the Redinle language, that means the Redinle people are ethnic Somali people who emigrated from Somalia to Kenya hundreds od years ago. I could really understand many Somali words which they said when they were talking to each other. That is verry nice Masha Allah.
I am somali I all understood what they said in Rendile language. Rendile are somali as I hope. Apart from the language which we are same; the area where they live looks like our land somehow 🤔. The camels is another evidence and even their culture.
These people are not lost ,they live in their Land , i.have checked their Land is neigbours with NFD Kenay, waqooyi bari kenya which is somali area so they not far anyway, i thought they were deep in central Kenay or Tanzania

You can see the Asian mentality in this documentary. For them to be without equipment is to be poor. What makes this commentator think that these people are poor? They live by nomadism. They have their livestock, they move a lot, they have a healthy and sporty life.... Yet they see them as poor people. Poor Asians, full of complexes and sterility.

The language is almost Somali. The narrator said the doors of the huts were high. Rendile girl said "dherer aa loo dhisaa" which means we build them high (doors), that statement is 100% Somali.

I am Somali and I understand partially the language. Most probably the Rendile are a Somali clan or Oromo . I say hi to my Rendile brothers. Kabiirow noogargaar( God help us). They might be disconnected with their Somali brothers for centures and centures and that is why they developed their own language patterns and vocabularies that we Somalis may not any more understand or may be they are Oromo . Ilaahay baa yaqaan waxay yihiin lk luuqadu waa AfSomali ama luuqad udhow AfSomaliga .
Please stop saying they are lost. They are aware they come from Somali lineage its us other Somalis just discovering them. Also they are in their native land that many somalis occuppied and it was given to Kenya by the British. The most common known reason they seperated from other Somalis was that they rejected Islam. If you know Somali Language very deeply you may not need translator to understand Rendiles(Ree Diinle). Even Some of their words are very old that can only identify by Somali Language experts. Would like to hear from Educated Rendile youth their experiences with Somalis if they ever interacted with.
That's true, when the old lady was telling the child of the sick mother to drink, she said "dham", my Grandmother used to greet people with "caano ma dhantay" she always said "caanaha wa la dhama"
