Exploring the Origin of Humanity
Dumagat tribe
At the province of Isabela, around the Palanan coastline in the Philippines,
there are the early Filipino settlers who live scattered in the form of nuclear families
The people of Dumagat swim freely in the sea as they hunt fish
with their high lung capacity that's 10 times better than the average person

A very sensitive video from which I have learned a lot about the Dumagat tribe. When the new road from ilagan is completed I hope the Dumagat families will be protected, but how do we preserve their lifestyle when Divilican and Palanan become popular tourist destinations? I watched a video about Divilacan, Isabela in which it showed these people living on part of the beach. Somehow we must ensure that these people have a choice between their definition of civilisation and ours. I ask myself which is better and am tempted to say theirs. Interestingly they could teach us a lot about protecting nature.

Wow love to see those one of the twenty black Filipino tribes of the Philippines..since from ancient times Philippines is a multiracial country specially around 16th to 17th century when manila was a center of slave center of the world. Many people from India,Indonesia,Myanmar,Thailand,Vietnam,Japan,Malacca,Arabia and Africa was brought in the Philippines as slaves and brought by manila Acapulco galleon to America's and some choose to live in the Philippines. Many native American Aztec from Mexico,Guatemala,Peru and Ecuador was also brought to the Philippines by Spaniards as warriors and choose to live in the Philippines..and no wonder on my DNA I'm 36 percent southern Mexican indian and 64 percent Filipino.

Where did you get that Manila was once the centre of slave trade from? That's nonsense. Do you have any links to back up your claims? Africans were never brought to the Philippines as slaves. Sulu was once a hub of slave trade though during the colonial times.

@@JcDizon yes, why don't you try to hit the web and search it..it happened during manila Acapulco trade.. don't you know that?? Or you don't have enough knowledge on history.???no place for ignorant people in this world...use your computer and search your question for you to learn....slaves not define just for blacks from Africa don't be narrow minded...there are also indios, Negritos, malays,Chinese,Indians, Indonesian papuans was brought to America's as slaves....search it for you to know...

@@rurallifemindanao7423 Ok, I apologize for coming out so rude, I guess I was just in disbelief that my birthplace was once a hub of slave trade in the world. I know about the Manila galleon trade that regularly went passes between Manila and Acapulco but I thought they just exchange goods like Chinese goods from Manila and silver from Mexico. I was also in disbelief that there were widescale foreign slavery in the Philippines during the colonial times and the African slavery that happened in the Americas never happened in the Philippines but it seemed that there was minor African slavery in the Philippines after all. All this time, I was thinking that there weren't much slave trade in Spanish colonial Philippines except during the pre-colonial era (the alipins which is quite different from slavery as practiced in the Americas) and slavery among the Muslims from Mindanao who regularly raided Visayas in search of people to enslave.

I think the best help the government can do is protect their environment from commercialization and industrialization. If you give them their land they will not run out of food and resources. They want to be left alone so they can teach their children their ways so that these won’t get lost for more generations to come. Please let them be but protect their oceans and forests.

Watching this video saddens me. While some parts of the Philippines are living in high technology and get help from the goverment, there are some parts where people are still thriving life in a primitive way without access to food, education, and medication. I wish the government would not forget the indigenous people. They played a big part since the beginning of the Philippines history.
