Lmao all these people in the comments trying to justify how an accord is keeping up with the 5.0 instead of just admitting that the accord is realistically a sleeper.
Jason Guzman I had both accord is quick stock and even quicker with some mods but my 5.0 is faster hands down. I loved my 15 accord coupe still night pearl color so much I bought a daily 18 accord 2.0t the same color lol. Honda makes amazing products.
It is fairly quickly but he clearly has somestrong mods ons. Probably making like ~380hp which is significantly more than the stock 270. The mustang was stock.
Sinoops mustang was not stock. Intake headers full exhaust an a new tune. Accord was running full bolt ons with no tune. Mustang also was an auto everytime the accord shifted he jumped 6 feet. Those mustangs are slow my boosted single cam walks any mustang under 600whp
@@reyfuentes4572 yea I mentioned that but aside from that what else is there? You don't have to deal with lines, downshifting, braking, cornering, heel toe, etc. Assuming both drivers can shift properly, it's just a dyno test between two cars
E Rojas ,2013 till 2018 hondas has an earth dreams technology engine, Not the same anymore, some reports gas IN the oil. I don’t know the explanation, but that’s what I saw in some videos
loading.. Sounds a little high to me but the v6 came stock with high high 200s HP if I remember right, so a tune with bolt ons making 400 doesn’t sound far off at all
@@drummer12films a My 335 came with 320. You need full bolt and soft tune the turbo psi to get 400 so I'd say this accord is reaching even at 350. Same engine as the 3.2 TL and they don't see 400hp usually without a turbo
As an owner of an 08 G37 6mt i was thoroughly impressed with both the driver and the accords performance. Would’ve loved to have been the one to have a go at it even though i would probably get chopped. Never understood the flack that a lot of Hondas get, they are quick, easy to mod and affordable.
Had my 17 accord 6/6 coupe stollen 10months ago! Insurance gave me the full value, and I’m now driving a 18 VW Golf R.. But when it’s all said and done I really miss my Accord coupe! Miss the amazing growl of that J35! And the look on people’s faces when I leave them behind in the dust Lol. True sleeper .. Not a big fan of the new 18 accords! Those lobster Claw taillights are hideous! Thanks for the Vid!
The 2018 Accords is mostly hideous. It's a shame Honda shelved the Accord Euro (Acura TSX) in Australia. That makes my next car a >2018 V6 Toyota Camry. I'm sick of NA 4 cylinder motors since Honda never released the Accord Euro with V6.
@@EzComEzG0 it would be amazing if Acura brought back the TLS for 2020-2022 with the turbo 3.5Lv6 mated with a Manual Transmission.. Or do the same settup and bring back the Honda Prelude.
Good runs! Damn, you put some lengths on the TL :( (I drive a 6MT TL). Goes to show that these 6-6 Accords are really underrated. UPDATE: Holy shit I never realized this would get so much likes! Yes I know the Accord is modded, but even stock for stock, the 6-6 Accords will beat our TL. It makes sense our TL has the 3.2 with only close to 260HP at the flywheel while the 9th gen 6-6 Accord has like 278HP while weighing LESS than the TL.
You lost me at at mustang for a second but then I was like meh he's a car guy he knows what the deal is on cars...bro my 09 sedan lxp is quick pushing 300hp that didn't play around making these and I cam from 8th get si and this car pulls and is way better daily
i think from 2006 on up the 6 speed version of these cars are so underrated and sleeped on, also i think they make way more horse power than they say they do.
The v6 accord isn't much faster than my gsr swapped civic we are neck and neck my cousin owns one....dont make it more than what it is. You will have to invest money plus labor into a v6 accord to make It keep up with a stock 5.0 or a DODGE SRT SCAT PACK!!!
I have a G37 and my mother has a V6 Honda Accord. The Honda is fast but the G is faster. Also the Honda in the video do not have a stock exhaust note. That is for sure.
I am so surprised about this car! The car sounds totally stock too and totally quiet in the inside of the cabin like a fault! Nice shifting by the driver! It really gave the mustang a real run for the money! Forget about the type R lol!!!
This goes to show that the J35 is at its best when mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. The 9 speed ZF in my TLX doesn't do this motor justice, best motor Honda has ever made, can't wait for the J35 turbo!
Type S is definitely confirmed. But I totally agree that they should have the 6 speed manual option for the type S model. I suspect the 2021 or 2022 TLX Type S will have the option of either the 6 speed manual or a 10 speed automatic. I would definitely get one in the 6 speed manual.
I guess that is fine too because the Current TLX 4 cylinder is actually using a DCT. Anything is better than the current 9 speed ZF, which feels like it's tuned more for economy, very often the transmission shifts too early even when using paddle shifters it still shifts by itself at a certain point, and annoying delays between each shift is just a complete waste of such a good motor. I miss how dynamic the 6 speed manual transmissions are, that is why I miss my 8th Gen Si, but I'd definitely pick the J35 over the K20 (as good as that motor was).
Its obviously a modified accord v6... the 2.0L accord only has 185hp which Is slower than my gsr swapped ek and the v6 accord is 278hp/252lb-ft of torque....5.0 is 435hp and 400lb-ft of torque
@@ToombzOfficial power to weight makes a difference as well. My main point was that this car is a total sleeper. You wouldn't think think twice about the v6 accord being quick as it is. Even if the car is modified it is still very impressive. You get a car that is fast, cheap and reliable. Wish I could say that about my Sti. As for mods, this guy is running a full exhaust, tune, intake, upgraded clutch and flywheel. Not a whole lot of money put into the car and it keeps up with 5.0s that cost 45k.
@@J.NOBODY.1 yes I understand I drove a v6 accord and it was fun as shit and a mustang 5.0 weighs 3800 only 200 lbs more than the accord...I agree with you that the honda is cheap and fast (depending on which model) but you do risk your reliability by increasing power (more ware and tear).. and I'm pretty sure he is running race cams, aftermarket performance pistons and intake manifold... you cant get a shit load of power out of that motor without upgrading stock internals. THAT WILL MAKE IT UNREALIABLE.
@@PatrickB4 would you trade in your sti for a honda?? All you need is a bigger turbo and more psi n minor upgrades depending on the state of your engine now
@@ToombzOfficial NA all day, I've done some light modding to my 14 (Takeda SRI, Throttle body spacer) intend on getting a k tuner this year and PCD that I'll go and get coated at jethot, and looking at upgrading to the 3.7 liter intake manifold and 80mm throttle body with a 2 inch spacer for added low end torque, ( also thinking about getting port and polished intake runners) I need to swap the pulleys and belts out anyway at 125k so I'll swap in light weight pulleys and drop the compressor from the belt and use an under drive pulley to reduce hp loss from the accessories. All this, without swapping any engine internals, not to mention the gains youd get from a catless jpipe or better yet, talking to a custom exhaust shop to fab titanium true dual exhaust
Why all the excuses? Different rear end... Auto.. manual.. going up hill?? Hahaha lesson is dont think your fast when ur x piped auto mustang.. learn from these guys dont hate. Give the accord props. Its a 3.2 vs 5.0. Imports shine top end especially when weight to power ratio is better.
Shit my 09 v6 sedan can pull man god forbid i put a supercharger on it ...i get v6 mustangs all the time just romping it these kids and just walk it in my 09 lx s
2013 Accord 6/6 owner here. I have a GS430, E350, 535i from a dig and Accord 2.0, Camaro SS and Genesis from a rolling start under my belt. This car makes magic!
@@LoXHumaN Honestly I knew he botched the start. But he caught up when I was already in 4th gear doing like 100+. The Camaro and mustang has similar performance and as you see it's not exactly dominating the Accord!
I have a 6-6 accord and they're underrated. Especially since mine is a sedan I get a bit of callouts and they're shocked when they lose by a bit. Nice video man! You are a good driver mod!
Escobedo SVT I have a 06 6-6 sedan. The wide eyed looks when I walk on people is priceless. Love it when mustang gt or ss Camaro start in 4 gear on the highway and I walk them .
@@slow6six620 You ain't beating stock 2011-2014 Coyotes unless you are heavily modded! LMAO....2011-2014 Coyotes best 1/4 time is 12.6 with auto, and 12.7 with manual.
Cali Guy lol believe what u want but a fast car with a shitty driver is just a slow car lol. 5.0s run mid 12s stock lol with a good driver. Stock 9th gen accords run mid low to mid 13s the Honda Accord comes with an open differential no lsd I ran a 9.1 in the 1/8th bone stock numbers are just numbers
Cali Guy my car just has catless 3 inch j pipe exhaust a tune and intakes. I recently added a clutch and flywheel and I’m port matching my manifold and runners currently
Cali Guy lol u want other examples of 5.0s with shitty drivers losing to bolt on accords ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OyHQoGMeB5Y.html
I’m sorry but that mustang must be defective unless I’m missing something he should’ve gapped you he’s got at least 150 hp on you and can’t weight much more?
@cdrrhd mine has exhaust and c.a.i it beats new edge 4.6 gts and newer rt mopars and i cant beat new 5.0 but i give them a run for there money thats for sure
There's no denying accords are underrated sleepers and this one is awesome but this accord is not stock, check out this video from team mojo of a stock v6 accord. Granted it's a automatic but as you will see a cvt maxima dosent get gapped as bad as this accord gapped a g37 and a genesis. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eGt7GbVhElc.html
6-6's are fast, and one of my favorite cars, I almost bought a 2014 yesterday, but coming from my 2008 Lexus IS350 the Accord feels much slower to me now, it's still a quick car, just doesn't have that "scary fast"sub 5 seconds to 60mph thing the IS350 does
@@jumbie4972Right but the IS350 can do 4.8 seconds to 60mph and pull off a 13.1 quarter stock (not the shitty new one of course, the older, better model). The pull from the IS350 can be scary whereas the Accord is far more tame.
I feel the Accord 6-6 would be faster from a roll due to 1) less weight 2) more power being put down to the ground due to FWD. Your IS350s are fucking insane from a dig because they have such aggressive gearing. Lowkey want one as a daily since the damn IS-F is so expensive lmao
You have some great driving skills, this is an awesome video, sad that the mustang got you but he had 2 extra cylinders so I’d say your doing pretty damn awesome
Very cool race guys, what this shows me is that there are a lot of options out there for us these days! This is great to see, I love all cars. I’ve owned quite a few over the years and wouldn’t scoff at the chance to own or drive a lot of newer cars, no matter the brand. If someone handed me keys to a new Ferrari I’m not going to say “no, I love my Honda Civic” lol
If someone gave me a Ferrari, I would sell it, pay off my 2017 V6 Accord Coupe Touring, buy a 2017 V6 manual transmission Accord Coupe and twin-turbo it for the ultimate 650HP street sleeper, and buy a Tesla.
it is a shame that was the pre-revamp genesis, the new one has another 50 horses for a total of 350, at the very least the newer one would had kept up with you, still very impressive on the Accord, it just sucks that they dont make them 2 door anymore
Robert Ornelas The newer direct injection version of the Genesis Coupe 3.8 is basically an exact match for the G37 coupe, so it would've only done as well as that car did in this video. The pre DI versions with only 306hp would lose to my old G37 convertible(way heavier than a coupe), and the DI ones barely pulled away from it. The cars are all pretty close from a roll, which is to say a single mistake by the driver can change the entire outcome.
randall bollinger his is a coupe but in the new shape before the most recent one they offered a manual in the sedan. They still might but not fully sure on that.
bro these accords are sleeper af. mine has basically the same mods except stock clutch and flywheel and i kept up with my boy’s 400whp+ stinger GT. people underestimate how quick these things are lollllll
I also think a car is only as fast as the driver if they don't push the car to the limit and the other guy does then the other guy is faster. My car by many accounts isn't fast but I have no problem doing speeds and maneuvers that others wouldn't do if they were paid. And that's how I reach the finish line/ area first. I'm not into one trick ponies. That are only arbitrarily fast in a straight line. But like you I do appreciate builds for their respective areas. But don't build a V8 and say it's the best. Cause the Europeans will say that v12 is better. In my opinion bigger isn't always better. What I said about lack luster is, is that it's no big deal when someone builds a V8 to many people do it. To me it's like whoopdy do. It doesn't take as much ingenuity to build a V8 as it does 4&6 cylinders. They have to be done right to reach the levels of v8's. Too many muscle car owners think that cause they have a V8 they are always the fastest.
True. But in a straight line, that's a different story. I drive an accord v6 with 200hp, it's stock but I pull on v6 mustangs and turbo vw's but not a v8 mustang man. Or a challenger. The horsepower matters
I'll put my 99 accord 4 door on that mustang after ordering some mods. Supercharger off eBay, new shock absorbers, front end mounts etc.. Honda's always seem to have to prove doubters wrong when mustangs come around and let mustang know they're not King. At school anytime I see a mustang park 5 mins later all the cool cars park besides it like g35 or beautiful lifted trucks and hellcats while my car is on the other side of the parking lot by itself and if someone parks next to me it's a Hyundai, a Beatle, or some old beat down suv. Honda is on the throne to me
You do realize that kids in high school, even with fancy cars have no idea how to drive them. That's why you see Hondas outrun Stangs, because the drivers are usually young as fuck and don't know how to shift well, or they are automatics. By the way, lifted trucks? What the hell? Those are so slow.
I really miss my Accords sometimes. I’ve got an Infiniti now, but for the last decade + I’ve had a new Accord every few years and always whatever “performance” model was offered. I had an 06 3.0/6MT, then a 2011 3.5/6MT, then a 2015 3.5/6MT and lastly a 2020 2.0T/10A. All great cars that ran crazy well for what they were with just some bolt-ons and each one faster than the next. The 10 speed 2.0T Sport I had was a different animal all together, and if they had continued to offer that drivetrain in the 11G Accord I would still have one now, but they only offer very modest 1.5T and hybrid power models these days so I looked elsewhere. First at the TLX but once I test drove the Q50 and looked at the numbers the Infiniti made the most sense for me, though a TLX-S would be a very close second. I think the Acura looks better, but the Q offers more performance potential for the dollar.
