John you failed to tell viewers what your error with the switch label was that you experienced and 1 the cable harness needed to be rerouted around the speaker frame otherwise it will not lay flat allowing the roof to connect properly and 2 that the switch settings are Yellow for ON and black for OFF which to me is not logical since the background is yellow. and in my case here in Australia my chip is soundless and I am having a long winded email session with Accurascale trying to sort out. They are very responsive and are going to send me the sound file, other than that the loco runs excellently. Sorry if I sound a bit off my Class 37 is the only one of the three that my fellow Canberra club members have received giving trouble.
Great easy to follow video. My 37043 Loch Lomond is due from DHL in the next 2 hrs according to the tracking 🤞. I’m the same as you have the DCC ready version and have bought the decoder and speaker separate…….. I shall be watching this again before lunch hopefully 😬. Subscribed 👍 @Mapplewell_Park
I think I am going to get one of these. Not sure what livery to choose though. I do BR era. Great video John and here is a like from me. I am a new subscriber and I look forward to more! Peter.
Well that was super easy. That is really ‘design clever’. It would of been great to hear the loco start up after you installed the sound chip….. PS - Just subed.
Given these grey speaker clips are not available to buy, currently, your locomotive must be DCC sound supplied. I have been in contact with Accurascale about the grey clips, and they will be available in 6 weeks' time. There will be class 55 clips and class 37 clips and possibly other classes also. I must admit I hadn't given any thought about the dip switched, so I will need to check mine out for the correct settings, if not already. I see others and my myself are experiencing body and / or roof missing magnets, so make sure to check.
Hi there, the speaker came out of a different model to do the video for this install, I do say I'm not sure if the clips come or can be got and if not use some blacktac just to hold in place. I found the dashboard lights were on all the time when I placed it on the track with dip switches not set correctly. Thanks for watching, John
@@dinmorejunctionmodelrailway I have had a magnet missing and the roof won’t sit flush . The speaker seems to be sitting to high in the body pushing the roof up 😢
@itsallabouttheclag Yes, I found that the roof doesn't settle as low as it should as for spare magnets contact Accurascale they have already sent me some
Hi John good video. When the sound is on does your loco move of on step 1. Install the sound decoder from accurscale yesterday does not move off until step 8. Is this correct
I bought mine with a non-sound Lokpilot decoder fitted. That responds like a 'normal' DCC class 37. However, I noticed with the Loksound decoder fitted, it does behave differently, re delays and moving away. Like the movement is tied in to the pre-programmed engine behaviour, rather than responding instantly. (eg, throttle - 'thrash - thrash' - move) One thing to mention - I noticed that sound-fitted 37's have 2 speakers - the big Accurathrash, plus a sugarcube. Turns out the non-sound loco also has the sugarcube fitted as standard, below the main circuit board. (Verified by unplugging the bass speaker and you can still hear tinny sounds coming from the loco).
I’ve got the standard version. Just out of curiosity in case I go dcc, does it work out cheaper to fit the bits yourself rather than by the dcc version? Cheers mate.
@@StarWarsJay 37 has 2 speakers. The cube is already installed in a DCC ready model but the woofer is not. An AC Electric may not have a woofer because the bass is not as heavy. Bachmann's 90 comes pre-installed with just a cube & that sounds fine.
Fabulous models but cannot get the lights (except auto reverse running lights) to work on Hornby Hm7000 21TX Bluetooth decoder. All the sound options work brilliantly with the HM7000 with Accurathrash speaker (just as good as the LokSound in my view) but Accurascale won’t help me with mapping the other lights to the Hornby decoder. I think they only want to sell their own decoders. Shame as IMHO the Hornby HMDCC app is defo the way to go.
Hi john, A quick question, Would you know how to turn up the Accurascale 37 volume CVs?,and a good sound level. Mine has just come back from Accurascale and is pretty quite. ATB Stuart
Mine arrived (sound decoder fitted) with the wrong switches selected at the factory. Not good. I changed them and the lights still didn't work. They work for Accurascale, so they think it's my Prodigy Express but every other loco works perfectly. I don't know whether to stop buying Accurascale models or buy a different controller.
Fail. John. You should have removed the sugar cube speaker that comes preinstalled. By not doing so you have the new thrash speaker wired into it in paradellel. Which half’s the ohms. So all you get is 2 ohms. Remove the sugar cube speaker and main speaker will give 4 ohm,s which is the manufactures recommended setting, Your guru of sound title has been revoked,Also the horn sound is far better with no crackling. Go stand in the naughty corner for not giving your uttermost in fitting the decoder set up. Naughty John.
It's 2.7ohm actually, and as ESU made the pcb boards for these models with their loksound decoders in mind. I have noticed that glueing the sugarcube in it small enclosure gives you a better air tight seal and speaker doesn't distort with the horns, much clearer. Thanks for the comment though.
