This is not the replacement for Torquay as mentioned in the previous review, this is the second manor model that I had on order. Both have now been replaced, and I am satisfied with the outcome.
Today I look at another Manor from Accurascale - is it better than last time? (Hint - No!)

It should be noted that this IS NOT the replacement for Torquay, this was an entirely separate order. Both models have now been replaced, and a satisfactory conclusion was reached. Thank you Accura for having great customer service!

I had to return mine. It's been nearly 4 months since I returned and I'm still waiting for a replacement.

@@MG-Driver That's annoying. Have a word with Accura via Facebook or Love chat or something - their customer service is great, so they'll be able to sort something for you.

It's a shame some models have been problematic. If you have replacements for both could you kindly make a video?. I had to return mine as not all the tender pickups were making contact. Regards Paul.

Yeah, it seems a little more work is needed in the factory to ensure a satisfactory model. I might make a video about the replacements, but it probably wouldnt be a full length one, more a short.

Yes, my Accurascale Manor slows down on R2 curves, why? Well the driver Back - to - Backs are 14.4mm to 14.5mm which is spot on spec for 00 gauge, however, there is very little sideplay in the driving wheels. I believe if you invert the Manor in a cradle and lay an R2 curve on the driving wheels you will see there is not much "give" and the wheel flanges on front and rear Driving axles make a strong contact to the rails. It's this increase in drag that causes the slow down, I contend.

Yeah - that seems the same in my two - hopefully their other locos are better!

It looks like you are using DC? These are completely different running DCC on my test track. I also have Torquay. Saying this it should still run as smooth on DC so something to mention to accurascale? (Other reviews on DC have also had the sane problems)

Yeah, I've mentioned this to Accura and now got a replacement. I've seen these running wonderfully on DCC so hopefully, when I get round to chipping them they'll be better!

I am very disheartened after seeing your manor videos and reading the comments. My 7810 Draycott Manor was received just before Christmas and all I have been able to do so far was the 9 volt battery test and I got no response at all from the tender wheels yet loco and tender appear to be properly connected. I don't have a layout at present so all I can do is put it on my rolling road or run it along a short piece of temporary track. Neither of which will show up the R2 problem. I am DC so fitting a decoder is not an option. You have returned 2 locos to Accurascale and I wonder if they made any comment about the issues or did they just replace your locos and cross their fingers. I am in the same dilemma with my class 37/0 received at the end of November- lots of reports of faulty motors which do not appear immediately. Accurascale's communication is usually good but I wish they would come clean over these issues or the excellent reputation they have built up will be at risk. I feel like updating my reviews as these were done based on looks and value for money. I have spent £500 on three locos (I have a deltic) and maybe they will all go back for a refund!

Yeah, I get where you're coming from. They're not too bad on DC, I think this was just a dodgy motor - as the replacement was much better. I too have heard many reports of not performing well on DC, so hopefully this isn't a theme with Accurascale!

Just seen Accurascale now offering lifetime warranty - so you should be covered!

That’s funny mine is one of my best

Yeah - I have heard that. Though if it's DCC I'm not surprised - I've DCC fitted. Both of my manors now (after having replacements) and they're superb performers!

Why didn’t you run a locomotive (preferably another 4-6-0) to prove the track ok. Also check to gauging of loco in case it’s tight.

I was going to say the same thing.

That's a good point, and if I'm honest I didn't consider this! But if you watch any of my other videos youll see that 99.9% of my other locos work fine. EDIT: I did consider gauging, but I didn't consider showing it in the video

Since filming the review I've fitted it with DCC and the performance has improved significantly - but glad it wasn't just me that had problems!

Have you checked the radius of the track
@timbervalleyproductions
@timbervalleyproductions 11 месяцев назад
I have, yes. My track is 3rd radius, and the tightest curve I have is 2nd. It was definitely the loco, the replacement is much better!
