My first job offer I received after Army service was from Accurate Arms back in 1992 to work sales and help develop data. They flew my then wife and myself to Nashville where they reserved a rental car and a hotel for us. The operations address said McEwen, but the actual area is called Bucksnort. My contact Harold received us so well, and made us feel at home the whole three days we were there. The interviews went well, was shown around the area and met everyone from the President to the folks in packaging. I was a kid in candy shop on Christmas morning... At lunch one of the white collar folks was shooting a .350 Rem Mag on the properties outdoor range, Marty the chief ballistician and I had some nice conversations while looking over the test equipment. If I recall correctly the only mishap they ever had was something dealing with a .270 Weatherby mag, and I can't remember exactly what happened. Also at the time (and still) high explosives were stored in bunkers on the property, which was a familiar sight to me from the Army. Today since there are only explosives on this property, the new company is named: Accurate Energetic Systems LLC. I also have to say It was refreshing to see just how down to earth everything was: The "reloading lab" was a single wide trailer with multiple single stage Lee presses and some scales. Packaging was several nice ladies scooping propellant (some from China) from 55 gal paper drums onto scales for further packaging. The whole place had a nice laid back vibe and I really enjoyed all of it. Soon after I received a call and was asked to join them... I was so, so happy. We started getting ideas of where to live, getting a U-Haul, etc... Then about a week later Harold called me and said the position was dropped, and another made up (HR) for the president's college friend. I was devastated to say the least, but at least I had the opportunity to see the nuts and bolts and make a new friend. Didn't mean to go on so long, but though some of you might have found it interesting. Also, nice work Jeremiah. I taught myself to reload in 1981 at 15; got my first copy of HANDLOADER MAGAZINE in 1986 while in college and always found it interesting and informative. Thank you.

Very nice video for Accurate #7 powder. I have been using this powder for my 9mm for decades and have had very good results using 7.2 grains for 115 gr RN bullets. I recently purchase a S&W 2.0 M&P 4.6 inch in 10mm and checking what others are loading for this caliber to get some feedback. So many powders to chose from but I like Accurate #7 for my 9mm and Winchester Super Target for my 45 ACP and 40 S&W. I have been sold on the more spherical powders to get great flow through the powder measure on my Dillon 550B. Thanks again for the video and now to look for the 10mm video for your featured Sig 10mm pistol and load work up.😂

Thank you very much for the kind words and taking the time to share your experience and what you are working on. @@HandloaderTVTo be hones the pistol is very nice, I did get to shoot it a last week after purchasing it several months ago. Every round out of box of 50 fire with zero failures. However, that trigger is not what I expected which is very gritty and not like my M&P 1.0 40 S&W and smooth. I had not fired it and contacted S&W about the trigger and they said to put some rounds through it to smooth it out, which I don’t believe will work. However I will fire a few hundred more and reevaluate the trigger, but thus far very disappointing on the trigger or what is causing that gritty pull through, for the 10mm 2.0. I also installed a HOLSUN SCS Green dot sight (very bright), which does not require the adapter plate for the install, which was smart on Holosun. I believe they offer 4 pistols for this direct mounting option. Keep up the good informative video’s!

Thanks for the history lesson on Accurate powders, back in the day Accurate powders mainly 1680 was a powder I used in 7.62 x 39, and it produced some of my most accurate loads in my SKS rifles. For some reason, it disappeared off the shelves locally for a number of years but finally showed up again about a month ago in many varieties, so I picked up a couple of lbs. of my favorite 1680. Of all the powders in the store, it was the cheapest as well at $33 a lb.

If I may , can I ask a question on a different subject? Are Tumble lubed bullets going to cause lead fouling of the barrel? I am trying powder coating, but results are not good . Will lead hardness be a factor? Thanks.
@copewy22
@copewy22 Год назад
I have not had any experience with powder coating but tumble lube has worked ok for me, you do have some leading, the bullet hardness plays a large part. Soft lead should be kept slow. I have pushed hard cast fast with good lube and gas checks with good results.
@HandloaderTV
@HandloaderTV Год назад
When it comes to leading there are two major factors, velocity and bullet hardness. A lot of folks have leading because they are pushing a soft cast bullet too fast. The next issue would be shooting an undersized or oversized cast bullet your bullet should be sized to your bore, with cast bullets you want a bullet that is about .001" over your bore diameter. Powder coating is tricky and a lot of what the people say on here does not really work well at all in my experience. I do powder coat my bullets and have had decent success with it but it doesn't seem to have much of an advantage over good lubed cast bullets other than it can be cleaner in some aspects. I hope that helps thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah
