I took accutane for 4 months, (I was originally supposed to be on it for 6 months but the doctor had to take me off of it because I was in a really dark place). Mind you I never had ANY suicidal thoughts or depression before I started taking this drug. I had a lot of side effects like depression, dry lips/nose, irritability/anger etc. But I also had extreme suicidal thoughts. Not only that but I also had thoughts about killing other people. Once I got off the medication, most of the side effects went away but the depression and anger still lingered. My skin IS clear but if I had a time machine I would go back in time and never let my self start this medication, it’s not worth it.
@@babygiraffe33if your acne is horrible then take the drug, if it isn’t keep in mind if you have a history of balding in your family then it will definitely speed it up. Gotta keep in mind what’s more important to you, acne or your hair lol (horrible choice to make I know)
@@sithddy7208 My acne is mildly bad. I’m taking the drug now, have been for two weeks with pretty good conditions. I’m a girl and my family has pattern baldness, it’s gonna skip me🙏
@@babygiraffe33 my hair started falling out after two months of being on 20 mg per day, I only had modern acne and will forever regret it because I’ve lost 60 to 70% of my hair in one years time. barely any regrowth
Accutane is a serious drug with serious side effects in SOME - usually the majority of patients who take it. Please be careful and consult a MD before you even consider using this drug. Stay safe shawtys

it caused permanent hairloss for me. ive lost like 50% of my hair 2 years later. ill probably be bald very soon, i also have permanent back pain, dry skin, and dry hair. hopefully i wont have long term health problems like kidney stuff.
My back has been KILLER since I was in the 11th grade... im 24 now!!!! Also, i still have dry mouth, dry skin & stiff joints! I truly hope no other teenager feels so insecure like we did and decides to take this death wish "medicine" 😢
I'm a dentist so this phobia you had of future problems is also coming to me but being in the medical field they are even more, i keep imagining the DNA strands and my bone formation but when i remember how difficult it was for me sometimes to even just put my face on the pillow, I say f.uck it , I'm on it for two weeks now but to be honest i can't forget that I'll pay some hepato or liver cells to clear my face!! God i never thought I'll keep having them till mid thirties !! and our hot weather in Egypt makes it worse
i took it and my eyes are very dry all the time and my skin is dry more than before(My skin was oily before obviously). i would suggest to anyone who takes it to drink a lot of water and get aquaphor. like a lotttt of both
I took it my junior year of high school and I STILL suffer from intense back pain, stiff joints, sore right arm joints, dry skin, and dry mouth & lips!!! I AM 24 NOW 😫
Wow never thought of it but yeah having a fatty calorie dense meal with the accutane could cause an ED if you don’t have a good relationship with food.
Super icky but my sweat increased heavily on accutane, super dry lips, unbearable rib pain, headaches, nose bleeds, increased laziness and fatigue, and lastly hair loss…. But I got my clear skin, my acne came back tho…. 🥲💥 the things we do for clear skin.
