It's more visual novel than adventure game but still does enough Adv things to be one properly. Other than these two there's; The first AA game is fantastic and 3 is great. 2 is awful but the last episode is fantastic (and every modern rerelease lets you just skip right to it). Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies and Spirit Of Justice are all bad. The Great Ace Attorney duology is the height of the series and totally standalone as well as some of the best ADV games in recent years There's also Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright but that's more of a Layton game than an AA
Great video To this day the worst thing AAI1 has in my opinion is that everytime i try to recoment this spin off series to someone, i remember it exists and they need to play it to experience the good stuff....aside from this, im bummed you didnt like AA4 , its understandable as the writing and pacing doesnt serve apollo justice (no pun intended) but i think the music in that game is pretty unique at the very least which made me consider it a guilty pleasure of sorts I need to check the great ace attorney games after this
@@TheKHC i Agree with ya, and while i dont think the following is a main contributor to the lower writing quality, i also feel like the period where AA4 came out also suffered from the "pass the torch" syndrome, where coincidentally a lot of capcom would introduce a new protag for the new generation but simultaneously get overshadowed by the old ones in the game, DMC4's Nero, AA4's Apollo and Sf4's Abel are examples of that
