they both have "detective personalities" like sherlock holmes, full of autistic traits...specially young miles , uninterested in fairy tales and other child like things and obsessed with law books at elementary school. you can already see a ghost of miles in gregory ...gregory is like a mix of wright and miles lol

but gregory has a personality into the normal levels , while miles's one seems a developmental disorder...worsened by the traumatic experience , but his personality was already clinically more different than the rest of the already eccentric anime tropes and stuff. it's funny how anime tropes ressemble people with mental disorders or developmental disorders like asd

It’s a very Johnathan/Dio type thing for myself. Polar opposites of a light and dark. Together they would bring up (even if they didn’t know it) a man who would have a lot of their qualities and would do what’s needed to make peoples lives and the law better.

@@000mjd the magatama was never strictly needed by Phoenix, it was more there for the players sake to give them an easily identifiable short term goal to help alleviate some of the aimlessness the investigations could sometime have in the first game. It does also have some cool story uses as well (namely the brilliant way it's used in 2-4) but you could technically remove it and not have to rewrite the games that much.

This case was 8 whole years before the “Great Thief Yatagarasu” became known to the world, so naturally, Badd’s view on Attorneys and such beforehand would’ve differed from how he viewed them later on after the incident that the Yatagarasu made their debut in.

Miles learned more from Manfred than Gregory (look at Miles fashion for example) Surprised he still does that knowing the truth though.

Not only that, but whereas Miles will move his pointer finger around in some animations as if he’s pointing at different things in front of him, Gregory’s corresponding animation has him moving his open hand as if he’s offering someone a handshake.

@@jello788 Von Karma definitely damaged Miles to the point where he became almost everything that Gregory wasn’t, and more than likely would’ve been destroyed completely if Wright hadn’t saved him from Von Karma’s schemes (in more ways than one) in “Turnabout Goodbyes” and Miles hadn’t been compelled to rethink his role as a prosecutor after that. But even though that was his official Heel-Face Turn moment, Miles did have his share of good-guy moments before that point that, IMHO, showed that he still retained at least some of his father’s principles despite all of Von Karma’s best efforts to crush them permanently. The most notable of these moments that I can recall is when he turned on Dee Vasquez in “Turnabout Samurai” and demanded more testimony from her when it started becoming clear that she was most likely the real killer in that case, even though he could’ve easily scored a guilty verdict by simply doing nothing and letting Vasquez’s original testimony stand as it was. If it were Von Karma prosecuting that case, he undoubtedly would’ve chosen to do the latter, so the fact that Edgeworth DIDN’T certainly speaks volumes.

Well, it needed to be on Christmas Eve, as the case needed to be exactly 1 year long so DL-6 could take place on the same special day, just as Turnabout Goodbyes needed to take place 15 years later, on practically the same day as well. It's called timing.

Knowing what happened in Goodbyes, we at least know Manfred didn't leave unscathed.

The case dragged for a year before coming to a close, which then lead to DL6. IS7 was put on hold for 18 years and was then solved despite the whole statue of limitations from AA1 allowing 15 years.
