@@WEC_Connoiseur on God. I love playing lawful good characters but my interpretation of Trigger (and also based on how he's described a few times in the game) is that the dude is in permanent goblin mode just aching to get on a plane. No different to Mihaly just that he's on Osea's side
The fact that these tunnels were fully textured and fitted with all these tiny lights and sub tunnels suggests to me that the developers knew people would see a tiny hole in the ground and think "I'm flying through that"
One of the things I remember fondly my two brothers watching me do that at full speed and flawless run it. I got done and they both looked at me and said "What the fuck man you was on the deck and flew through that shit like you was on god mode. What are you?" I just laughed and said back " Great for a first run wasn't it? I think I can do better in a faster plane being 80 off the deck." lol I ran it back and did it. I will say this Air Combat/Ace combat series and Gunship were the main reason I wanted to fly. I wanted to be a F/A 18 pilot and an Apache pilot. But Ace Combat 5 was by far my favorite I still have my OG copy of it and play it from time to time.
the amount of sweat i had when seeing the tunnels brought me back to 5 when i was flying the SU-47 berkut threw the tunnels to be using an f-22 raptor in 7 doing the same stressful thing sometimes going full speed
My first ace combat game was 7, but I assume that 5 has far more tunnel flight. Pretty sure it's a meme at this point. You see a Jet fly into a tunnel, it's ace combat
It's actually harder if you go faster. Try it in the dark star. Took me 17 tries to get it without crashing. Never dropped under 2,500 miles per hour the entire time
theoretically if anyone was in the tunnels they would be dead due to the constant echo of the extraordinarily loud jet engines that would make you deaf instantaneously and the concentrated g-forces that would blow you away if the jet were to pass by
Anyone else feel like the only appropriate thing to yell out while flying a fighter jet through several tunnels and then up a space elevator to be “YO JOE!!!!”?
This puts me in the mood to play through the game again, it's been a while. I remember struggling so hard while trying to navigate those tunnels for the first time.
I like the idea of getting so into the song that Trigger just ignores the drone at the end of the tunnel and flies up through the wind break because he's vibing too hard to stop
This video got me to play Ace Combat 7 and brother, that was a wild ride. Also, that tunnel got me killed like 6 times and I was going at like 800km/h, and this dude goes at it at a 1200
Tower: Sir you don’t have a pilots license!!🤬 Pilot: stfu I’m listening to free bird! *loud free bird playing in the background while going 1200 kmph through a tunnel*
One of these games (5?) you have to do this during a mission while another jet goes the other way and you have to pass each other. I barrel rolled (thank you Zippy) and belly scraped the ceiling to do it. So BA.
HQ: It doesn't matter how good you are, nor that you didn't crash. That was incredibly dangerous, and your fi-(phone rings). Hold on. (One phone call later) HQ: Um, that was the President, he told me that he wants to make you Chief of Staff of the Airforce.
Well if you ever play the main campaign of the game it’s required to complete the last mission. Not as hard as it looks. In fact in the actual mission it’s way harder because you have to chase a drone, the doors randomly close, and you have to chase it around that room at the end and take it down. By comparison this is just easy as hell.
This is 1 of the easier tunnel runs in the entire series. The drone mentioned was actually easy. Dunno if it was just my game, but the drone just flew donuts the whole time. Spent most of the 30 second time limit destroying the 4 wall mounted limiters (wtf were they limiting? This was their first and only appearance in the entire game with no seeming connections to anything). Only after that did i realize the drone was actually in the room doing absolutely fk all. It didnt even evade or do anything else. 1 simple lock on and it was splashed. Wtf was the point of that entire subsection of that mission?
Funny enough, I actually flew through the tunnel on level 6 with the Raven after having died 7 times on this tunnel with the F22. Gonna try this tunnel with the raven, see how a high Stat balanced jet fares.
