Gameplay of the Co-op mission "Moby Dick Pursuit III", using the A-10A Warthog and clearing the mission with an S Rank. (Shoot down all escort planes and support aircraft before giving the Aigaion the final blow)
The Otaku Gamer No, that'd be if it still used Nimbus warhead cruise missiles as an on demand cloak. Goddammit I hope they at least do a Block IV with the full scale FUCK YOU PEOPLE defensive functions, if not bring back Nimbus for III. I love a challenge.
Unfortunately the cockpit view is fucked up in this game. Way to close to the panel, restricted view (can't really look around) and the cockpits aren't even fully modelled.
SkylineGTRR34Freak I´ve played them all since Electrosphere. I wouldn´t dare calling them sims though LOL. I don´t agree with anything. You´re free to pick whatever view you want but there´s no need to fabricate hándicaps that aren´t really there. Even the most obstructive cockpits are perfectly usable if you know what you´re doing. And that should be rewarded IMO.
Smurfich Estronchen Harrs I didn't call any AC a sim, might want to read over that again. Let me put it this way: If I want a cockpit feeling, I want an actual authentic cockpit. Most of the cockpits are only modelled to 50% (Be it so save time, filesize, whatever) and thus, the view is very shitty implemented. It has been fine in all AC games up until Assault Horizon. It just doesn't feel right. You're saying there's no need to fabricate handicaps that aren't really there. So why would you want more credits then?
And the cost alone to make it would be a bitch too. Not to mention that it's so easy to spot in the air since it's so big. Plus, how do you launch something like that into the air? It just seems impossible.
They might have to deploy it from the water. The Gleipnir from ACX had a huge body of water for a runway, so given the shape of the underbelly of the Aigion, it must be able to take off from the water too.
There might have been gigantic doors at the front in order to keep any waves of water from entering the inside, and would open up when in the air or if it is still stopped in the water, so that transport ships would deliver any special cargo for the Aigion, such as fuel, parts, planes, or a new shipment of Nimbus Cruise Missiles. This is just my theory though.
Not "all" ace combat bosses look like manta rays, theres the SOLG, EXCALIBUR, CHANDELIER, XB-0 HRESVELGR, STONEHENGE, MEGALITH, ARSENAL BIRD, and the ARKBIRD.
I love the A-10. Sucks it get beat out so often from the pure speed of other aircraft in regular missions. I'll have to try that FAEB tactic. Never occurred to me!
That's true, I've got it on Level 9 and it still gets outrun easily... I have switched to the F-2 as my main attacker, it's faster and the UGB deals more damage than the FAEB
Mine is only level 6 currently. I use the RKTL since it's actually up to level 2. I've tried the F-2 a few times, but it's only level 2. Might have to look into that as a faster attacker. I've been working on getting the Su-34 for missions where I see a lot of faster attackers. Otherwise I always choose A-10 (or F-18 if ships). Zipang for Air-to-Air since it was free and already has already hit level 6 ha. Anyway, thanks also for explaining that hold triangle trick. Been using that as well. Need to get used to it a bit but it seems quite handy.
***** Well, got the FAEB to level 3 and UGB to level 2, but the UGB seems just a lot stronger and the radius is about as large as the FAEB. I think the F-2 is worth it. Been thinking about the Su-34 aswell, but that one doesn't has unguided weapons, only the GPB, 4AGM and LASM or LAGM (not sure). And I really like to pursue targets with triangle. I think I couldn't live without it anymore :D
I got the Su-34 last night and it's okay so far. Only issues I have is the ammo count on the gun is a fifth or less than me A-10 and takes forever to reload. It starts with 4AGM, then LAGM and then GBP iirc. I like the LAGM since it has long range and a blast radius for stuff like ships. Probably will just by a mission plane for me. The speed is great but stability is a bit lower. Granted it is still Lv1. FAEBs worked great vs Aigaion although I think I may have blown myself up a few times if that's possible, lol.
my call sign is Arch Demon ! downed 530,000 aircraft and ground targets in 7250 sorties. The heavens split asunder and sent forth a great demon with immortal power.
...Just make this a full, 60 buck game, Namco...I'll fork it over when you stop implementing bullshit f2p fuel barriers! Also I wish I could fly like you could, man. Nice flying.
Agreed, I really hate being restricted to 3 (6) sorties a day... I've racked up some stocked fuels, but I want to keep them incase another tournament or so pops up...
Same. Fuel system aside the co-op gameplay was just so much fun. Especially the special raids. It's sad how AC7 doesn't have anything remotely like it.
And thats why I went for the A10 first XD! the 30MM GAU is so damn powerful along with the rocket launcher on it. Easily the funnest plane to use on ground attack missions like pipeline destruction and alps mission
That's a really big opponent to take down. Not to mention the amount of firepower on board that flying fortress. Well-deserving of the title "Moby Dick".... ...what? *"Destroy the core!"* ?! That's a Gradius line!
I remember on Ace Combat: fires of liberation doing a similar mission. I used a A10 with fire bombs (forgetting what they're actually called) and destroyed the Target in minutes
No matter how much I spam the "Delay the final attack!" option, somewhere out there is an idiot who destroys the core before all other targets are shot down.
*sigh* I already miss these missions. Pursuing that big aircraft is fun! Now I have to depend on taking the shorter version in the campaign and without that red or golden texture.
Yea, it's kinda sad that Aigaion and Stonehenge can't co-exist as Special Raid Missions... That being said, I've had my first Stonehenge mission today (Red Ring) and it was really intense and harder to accomplish than the Red Aigaion (imo). I love both of those raid missions, sucks that we can only have one at a time...
i played it earlier today.... i think i got shot down like 3 times from the air burst over 2 of the jammer sites. it feels a hell of a lot harder than aigaion, even more if u dont have something like the UGB or RKTL
That concept designed wasnt accept for a reason. Its a last ditch effort plane if you asked. Sure, a goliath… but that plane has one purpose… The last crew
I'm just wondering at what point would I be able to get to that level of being able to earn that much credits and progress in one mission? I seem to be tediously grinding just to unlock event the basic mods.
This boos design is STRAIGHT from the N64 Aerofighters Assault "Air Battle" mission. In that game the giant bomber was armed with nuclear weapons and headed for New York City. You even destroy it almost the exact same way in that game. The only thing that would top this off is if the battle took place over the Atlantic Ocean like in the other game.
Ah fuck I miss this game. I used nothing but my F4G wild weasel and I actually used to be MVP on quite a few matches. I'd love it if they could port this to Ps4.
hey, when you fly very slow to hit targets, 90% of the time the enemy missiles just fly next to you, in my case if i don't dodge them, they hit me all the time
