Ace Yacht Is For Sale. Lurssen Made A Mistake? 

If i work really hard, invest wisely,in 20 yrs or so id be able to buy one of those jet skies .

I love this yacht and think the exterior and interior is beautiful and elegant. I love that it looks like a yacht. Too many super yachts look like cruise ships or ferries. The operating and maintenance costs are the killer but to be expected. That being said this would be my dream yacht. 🥰

The problem with the M/Y ACE is, almost solely, its layout. An 85m/278'10" yacht with only 4 guest cabins makes this yacht hard to own if you like to take people on multi-day cruises to party and unwind. And the apparent need for a support vessel (seen in many panoramic shots of ACE with tenders and toys) makes the operating costs of ACE for a potential first time buyers prohibitive. If anyone has watched the yacht walk through with the ships captain, you'll know he explicitly states that it was build for a very experienced yacht owner. But any other buyer that is experienced, and has the money to buy Ace, with its support vessel, would most likely decide to purchase a new bespoke yacht from a ship builder instead.

Boats of this level are amazing, but I don’t care how rich you are, it takes a special kind of tool-bag to buy something like this to use a couple times a year.

This yacht is very beautiful and I have been in love with it for a long time. I believe it will belong to all the people who will travel with me on the seas of the world.

the support ship was for the tenders/toys. A lot of boats are put up for sale as soon as they are finished.

I love the fit, finish and materials used but I pretty much hate all the furniture and decore in the common areas.

Lurssen is one of the best builders - interior like a set for a TV show. Wouldn't say no though ..

A support vessel carries the mother yaghts toys ,soo extra tenders ,jetskies,helicopter operations can be performed there instead of the mother ship soo you are wrong it dosent offer any technical support ace would have her own engineer onboard it and so would the shadow vessel.

There's a lot more expensive yachts out there now for sale. Not complaining nice yacht.

When you build something so bespoke to your tastes, you're going to take a hit when selling it. Not only the money for changing it, but time and aggravation.

It may not be that the owner has no money problems at all. It is very normal for owners of huge yachts to sell them and build a new one. The actual price of Ace is $160 million not $137 million.

Good job with the story but why do you show a yacht other than Ace or Garçon repeatedly on the Lurssen dock facility?

Only 1.x Billionaire and buy a 200+ Mio Yacht? That sounds wrong to me, the yacht is clearly over his horizon. A yacht should never cost more then 3-5% of your portfolio. With 20% it's to much, hard to afford then.

It will be bid down from $137M as that price is negotiable. Whoever buys it will be extremely lucky. A very smart man who did not read his adversaries correctly. His misfortune is simply in crossing paths with the wrong people in the wrong place at the wrong time. It is no different than being amongst jealous co-workers who can't stand the fact that you are smarter, faster and better equipped to deal with life than they are. Ace is no doubt a beautiful yacht but it isn't the best yacht in the world. It was sold for the same reason all magayachts are sold. The owner simply wanted something else.

For the amount of money they want for this yacht, you would have to use that beautiful silver stairway to pp demolish to put in A' elevator so can you imagine the cost you would lose on the stairway but it would only be worth its weight in scrap and probably cost a bundle And what a wast it would be for me so my guest people an most of all family who no longer are able to do stairs because is you don't have another alternative for that amount of money or elevator it not worth the money on matter what invested inside because everybody has elderly in their family and they can't do steps so just pulling the designing in that department ,so not worth that to much money and construction configures that have to be done it would take years to finish I don't have years to play with somebody's think a toy to make it my tinker toy so looked somewhere else even at Solo has an elevator helipad pool all the necessities again necessities as the same age they will watch both the same amount of the net and it's only 60 million so there yes I'm going with the yacht that has everything I need now so if you buy this $160, 000 million yacht playing on putting it in a lot of money to change the figurations to your needs because we all have elderly people that need to go up and down this boat doesn't have an elevator you must have for family to have too move around make it's over easier for you that's my suggestion and that's where I'm going the ace is a beautiful yatch An yes I was really interested but backed out for the cost of construction to reconfigure It's not just a hole where you have to change you got to change what's around it the material and you're talking how many levels You must have a rip out the whole yacht and do it the way you want solo has everything you need for 60 so the aces only worth 60 or less because it doesn't even have an elevator period...
