I just joined the Chromebook world and I must say I love it. I purchased the Acer 713 Spin 3w and it's so much faster than my windows computer. Now don't get me wrong I still love my windows laptop but for doing projects that are just online are in the cloud and I don't need windows software the chromebook is a no brainer.

Exactly I have this chromebook and it's just so fast I love it... and my windows battery is so terrible as well for example I wad going on a camping trip with and mate and it ran out in 1 hour WHEN I switched to this chromebook I could take this anywhere from cafes to trips and its super fast and battery amount is a lot The keyboard is just a problem and also the speakers

I've been waiting for something to upgrade from my Google Pixelbook GO and this Acer Spin 513 might be it. Love the fanless style Chromebooks and a 3:2 screen is something I've never tried before.

im on the fence between used pixelbook gos or spin513s, and i think you are probably correct... the main thing I see is that the speakers are trash compared to the go, but the expiry date on automatic updates is dec2030 instead of june2026, which is a big deciding factor for me

@@supersasquatch I've got a 16gb pixel book but the touchscreen stopped working in December and I replaced it with the 8gb 513 (MediaTek version). The 513 is faster, has a better screen, better battery life and plays games at much higher frame rates. The pixel book does have nicer build quality though

Why do I have an infatuation with mediatek and arm processors in general? Lol. Our house is now 100% arm based. iPads, iPhones, iMac and now a Chromebook with the 1380.

When reviewing Chromebooks , I think that a few use cases should always be covered like: 1.- Note taking 2.- Drawing 3.- Book Reading 4.- Video Viewing and video streaming to TVs 5).- Audio listening quality 6).- Productivity Apps: spread sheets, document creation, presentation tools 7).- Video Conferencing 8).- Photography and image editing 9).- Video Editing 10).- Programming - Software Development: IDE + Programming Languages 11).- Connectivity with screen displays and other accessories. The above list will help to convince many end users to switch to Chromebooks ecosystem

Totally agree! Great list. Hopefully revewiers catch onto that. I'd personally would be interested in video editing especially on this device. If it even runs and how effective it might be. I would not have a problem to completely switch from Windows to Chromebook if that one point would be covered decently enough. Fir me that's entrance level video editing, just the basics.

exactly i get bored of people saying in all reviews if you want more powerful system get windows without giving context , chromebooks have good battery arm processor no heat and also with linux and android support made it more appealing and flexible for allot of use cases

Decent processing with the kompanio SoC and graphics power for an ARM-architecture Chromebook

The MediaTek Kompanio 1380 is a great ARM processor for a Chromebook, but for some unknown reason it has been released with 32-bit version of Chrome OS whereas with 8 GB RAM it's capable of running a 64-bit version. I have noticed its performance does suffer consequently, especially if you have a lot of Chrome tabs / web apps open. I have i5 Chromebook with similar processor performance (based on Geekbench scores), and it also has 8 GB RAM, but runs a 64-bit version of Chrome OS and I experience less slowdowns / stuttering.

At around 4:15 you show Instagram only shows in a small window. Did you update the OS at all? I wanna say since ChromeOS version 99 or 100 (105 being latest as of today), they have a option to have resizeable apps.

Thank you for this thorough review! I think I've decided on this laptop but I have a question regarding the 'thin' sound of the speakers. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and podcasts using my laptop and I would prefer to do it without headphones/earbuds. Is the sound quality good enough for those uses?

reviews of Chromebooks ,, who buys them ,, type of thing?? The USA has 60 Million Kids of 0-14,,, 30 Million Chromebooks are issued to school kids, for 1 to 1 learning Thats one group of users,, then there is Developers with i5 machines where you can use onboard Linux AND then the onboard android, to test your android apps ( or web pages )
