I had to look away from the screen because he kept blurring the words. My eyes kept trying to focus on the blurry words. This really takes away from the message.
Being a top 1 percent software developer, I cannot delegate, because the quality of work is going to drop, causing big maintenance problems down the road.
You don't have to delegate your strongest skills unless you want to (the main message is delegating areas in which others may be better skilled)... having said that, there are many great developers that can abide by coding standards and protocols that are established by the team lead.
Get better at finding OTHER 1 % developers. If you know what good looks like, you should be more able to effectively screen for them, or develop questions/tests to find them. That’s how you leverage your skill set.
