Loved the integration of CBT into the subject and your application of it to personal goals versus its typical application to psychopathology. It's definitely important to be cognizant of the attitude behind why you're striving for specific goals in the first place and to continuously reframe that mindset in order to propel yourself into the long-term. Awesome work!

Chris you helped me realize just now that I've been approaching saving money and debt management wrong for years now. I've been approaching it like a goal rather than a lifestyle this is why I've been successfully able to pay down debt multiple times yet never sustain financial freedom. I've been successfully able to change up my overall routines though and that's because I had to change the way I felt about adulthood and maturity. I saw my mother's struggle for years to take care of her family and I associate that with adulthood. I always resisted growt,h maturity and discipline and anything associated with those words because of my feelings on this matter. It wasn't until this year I realized that being an adult doesn't have to mean struggle or pain. Being a disciplined adult who seats growth and progress can be fun, rewarding and challenging in a good way. Once I wrapped my head around that it made it so much easier to embrace rules and routines.

Thats very helpful thank you so much, really helpful. Im also INTJ and kind of struggling with keep up with goals but i see it what needs to be done to keep it consistent. I get the point and it suddenly made me realise what i have to do to keep my gym routine consistent. Thank you.

I didn't get super far into learning CBT but just the idea that our thoughts and beliefs about experiences affect how we feel and react to them, was super helpful.

Good video Chris. Years ago at an introduction to a Weight Watchers meeting a presenter said: You’ll never be able to eat the whole pie again. That’s when I realized that losing weight wasn’t a short term commitment, but a lifestyle change. Somehow I’ve never connected that “aha” moment to other changes/goals that I’ve wanted to make. Till now. Thank you. It also occurs to me that there’s a sense of loss or sorrow involved because you have to let go or relinquish something of your present lifestyle in order to gain what you seek to achieve. Which could be a stumbling block. I guess this is where “thoughts, beliefs and actions” comes in to assist.

Nice summary of the benefit of searching for a supportive mindset shift rather than relying on “grit” to power through prescribed goals. “Lifestyle” is a helpful piece of the puzzle for me - I recently shifted my approach towards routine maintenance vs directed goals, and made huge strides in productivity from that change in mindset.

Great video as always. I share your opinion : in the case we want to gain/loose weight, we have to change our lifestyle and maintain it in a long term, it continues, we repeat it everyday. Whereas a goal, once we achieve it or fail, it's finish. (I think I never got the sensation to be hungry, on the other side I'm always thirsty) We can have zero, one or a lot of goals, but only one lifestyle. (correct me if I am wrong) Thank for the CBT reminder at 4:37 I agree it's important that what work for someone, might not work for someone else, because we are all different.

Hey Chris, I’ve been thinking a lot about gender roles and the workforce and gender equality etc. I have some ideas for research topics and my friend who worked in higher Ed for fifteen years has started a team building systems approached coaching company that I’m helping with creative design for. I have some ideas for you.

I miss videos with abstract and theoretical orientation, but I guess this is what's good for business.

Hey, I'd be open to hearing some video idea suggestions. I genuinly just make whatever videos tend to cross my mind, any videos that aren't type related are actually bad for my viewing statistics so I take risks with these.
