BIG OOOOF!!!!!.... I'm not trying to throw shade at Theory here... I am usually a fan of his videos, but Theory is completely misreading or misunderstanding the article and the journalist's points. THE TWO OF THEM ARE ACTUALLY AGREEING on the same points, but Theory has misinterpreted what he is saying... Examples: The journalist says in POINT ONE, "Just because the Sith were not around en masse like in the Old Republic days, it does NOT MEAN they did not exist and were hiding in the shadows." The journalist is basically saying, "The Sith were hiding in the shadows"... same as Theory. In POINT TWO, the journalist is criticizing A COMMENT THAT AN OBSERVER of the trailer made, (the Cantina1234 commenter, whose comment is shown within the article), NOT THE JEDI WITHIN THE STAR WARS UNIVERSE, and NOT KI-ADI-MUNDI as Theory mistakenly interpreted the journalists words to mean. In POINT THREE, the journalist is again REFERENCING THE SINGULAR OPINION(S) OF ANY ONE COMMENTOR (again, probably also the Cantina1234 comment, but also applicable to anyone single person's opinion), however THEORY AGAIN MISINTERPRETED HIS WORDS to be criticizing the in-universe character of Ki-Adi-Mundi, which he was not. Sadly, a misunderstanding like this just bolsters and amplifies the Star Wars fan base's frustrations and negative reactions to recent, current and future Star Wars projects. Admittedly, we often have legitimate reasons and examples from the state of the SW franchise in recent years to be frustrated, disappointed, maybe even a little mad, and certainly to be wary about future projects, but in this particular case, in regards to this particular article and this journalist's words... he's not 'the enemy'. In truth, he and Theory are not disagreeing here, and the journalist is actually trying to offer a glimmer of hope by showing us that the set-up for 'The Acolyte', at least as shown in the trailer, is NOT in contradiction to established Star Wars canon. Of course, whether the show ends up being a success and embraced by Star Wars fans remains to be seen, and we should reserve final judgement until we actually watch it, no matter how discouraged we have been from other SW movies and shows. My hopes would be that, if Theory sees my comment, or any of the others I've seen that point out his misunderstanding of the article, he would re-read the article to better understand the journalist's intended meaning, and then come forth with an acknowledgement of a mistake made. We all make mistakes and misinterpret things, (including the HUNDREDS of Theory video viewers who either also misunderstood the article or didn't bother to read the journalist's words for themselves... ), but when you have a platform with an audience as big as Theory's, and the power of influencing literally MILLIONS of people... the right thing to do is to set right an unintended wrong.

The only way The Acolyte could break canon is if anyone see's a Sith and stays alive to tell others about the Sith's appearance. Theory has covered this in his other videos. So that means, EVERY SINGLE JEDI WHO HAS SEEN, THE SITH OR THE DARK SIDE USER, NEEDS TO DIE. So in that case, no one would be alive to tell the Jedi that, there is indeeed, a Sith alive.
@jordan6254
@jordan6254 2 месяца назад
And there would need to be some kind of cover up. If a bunch of key Jedi just go missing there would be some kind of investigation. Psychometry would immediately reveal what happened so it's gonna have to be layered. I have strong doubts on that happening
@cmatt9374
@cmatt9374 2 месяца назад
@@jordan6254 That's true, I was thinking about that too. If a bunch of Jedi go missing and they end up finding them, they see lightsaber wounds on them, that would also be a hint that a lightsaber user killed them. I also do think that someone with psychometry could just solve the whole thing if they find the dead bodies of the Jedi. But keep in mind, psychometry is not a common power. Very few Jedi possess this power and actually know how to use it consistantly.

Many defenders are saying, "Oh, well that just means all the Jedi who discover the Sith characters in the show will be killed." But just look at the Obi-Wan Kenobi show... After the series ended, the Empire clearly knows about the connection between Bail Organa and Obi-Wan. Disney does not care about canon and hire people who also don't care about the lore. Also I myself have seen a fair amount of backlash/racist remarks to leads. 2:44 like again yeah... They where hiding in the shadows. Theory just backed his point again. 3:56 What paul said here has confused me a bit. But from what I'm understanding hes saying that if they didint know palpatine was a sith lord then how can we as viewers trust that the jedi know that the sith havent been around for 1000 years. Mundi reveals to us that the jedi dont know shit but they slipped up with palpatine showing that maybe theyve slipped up before. This video to me felt pointless. But the sky is not, NOT blue, just because some people think it's green." ...And then someone reads that, misinterprets it as if the commenter was saying, "The sky IS green, it is NOT blue." Honestly, the fact that the Sith have supposedly been extinct for a millennia is part of why I thought the High Republic was a pointless time period to explore anyways, since it’s supposed to be the golden era of peace and prosperity meaning no real conflict. Darth Maul appearing in TPM was the indication that the golden era was over and the Jedi were about to be wiped out. Would’ve preferred they explore something like their equivalent to the New Sith Wars that resulted in the Sith supposedly becoming extinct and how it reformed under Darth Bane. That would’ve been a lot more interesting.

The person who recognized her (her cousin), she caused him to go insane and the Jedi had to put him down. Creating fall guys, hiding bodies, and masking deaths is a Sith's bread and butter. I am upset that the lead is another generic human instead of aliens, somehow star trek shows have these insanely good looking aliens, even the orvil does and yet star wars only ever has aliens as bad guy goons or scene decoration. Only reason we got Ashoka was because she was pre disney. I mean how hard is it to have a twi'lek you slap a tentacle helmet on them and paint them green or some other color. I feel like the only reason the jedis in this show are of other races is because they are copying the prequels.

It's not racism, at least not on the commenters' part. One can see what people are talking about in Lucasfilm's offerings of the last couple years- they have established a certain way of writing characters based on their gender and race. The "Ahsoka" show offers good example of this. It makes for predictability, bad characterization, and nonsensical plots, so of course people are tired of it.

@@marychocolatefairy this is an incredibly good faith response and represents a valid concern. What you're missing is the abject racism and homophobia that abundantly weave their way into the livestreams and comments. I challenge you to wade your way through the comments on that clip and maintain your opinion about the people commenting on Theory's content.

People just want a good male character to go with either a good female character, a cast of fun and interesting side characters, or both. There’s nothing wrong with that. Black, white, asian, whatever. Just a good, solid, competent male character with a backbone who may or may not have allies that are competent when called for to aid him in his chosen mission. People liked Cal Kestis and Merrin and their crew, people seemed to enjoy Din Djarin and Cara Dune, Grogu, Greef Karga, etc…. but of course, there aren’t very many of those partnerships and characters that we can say, definitively, 'Wow, I'm really impressed with this', thanks to Disney being given esg money.

So many people are not only misunderstanding the meaning of the article Theory is talking about... they're also misunderstanding Theory. Theory himself literally says, "That's EXACTLY what the Sith were doing... hiding in the shadows!" @2:47. And the writer of the article himself states, "...hiding in the shadows... which is apparently EXACTLY what is happening in 'The Acolyte'." Theory simply misunderstood the journalist's meanings, and doesn't realize the two of them are in agreement. And sadly, people are confusing the issue even more by misunderstanding what Theory is saying. C'mon guys.... it's kinda sad that we're all arguing over nothing. Think of it like this... someone comments (admittedly not using the clearest language they could have chosen), "The sky is blue. Some people think it's green. But the sky is not, NOT blue, just because some people think it's green." ...And then someone reads that, misinterprets it as if the commenter was saying, "The sky IS green, it is NOT blue." And then everyone attacks the commenter for allegedly claiming the sky is green, which is not what they said in the first place. Does this make sense yet?? I promise you... We're all on the same side here... (mostly).
