Started flying in the 80’s. I can attest to the absolute horrible hiring conditions. We flew for free, logging every single tenth, volunteering everywhere, just to get 2nd seat time. Still flying today and making good money. Wouldn’t change anything.

29:40 the main issue I see is that flight school is still very expensive and most people, who do want to be pilots, have rent/mortgages full time jobs, bills, responsibilities etc. But I guess, where there is a will, there is a way.

Flight school is expensive but the return on investment education is high. According to the Bureau Of Labor Statistics, The 2023 median income for pilots in scheduled airline service is $231,560. What are your thoughts on the virtual reality simulator compared to investing in a traditional simulator with a setup including a TV? Do you believe the virtual reality option from Amazon is worth considering, or would you recommend going for the simulator with the full setup?

They both are good options. I lean more towards the traditional setup. Get in the car and go to the airport. I took that one to heart a few weeks ago. Went to a few local airports, spoke with multiple flight schools and booked discovery flights! You’re absolutely right, there is no perfect time. The perfect time was a year ago when I started listing to both podcasts and the second best time was the day I took action Truly appreciate you all for the honest, raw and encouraging content!
