I love your videos. Especially the funny bits at the beginning. The only fragrance reviews that I actually laugh out loud watching. Cheers from the U.S.
You put in to words something that I've never quite been able to articulate when you said, "I"m not sure I enjoyed it that much today." (8:05). I thought, yes, that's it. Sometimes I have a fragrance that I love one day, and the next day I wonder if I really do. It just clicked for me when you said that. Then I got to thinking about food. Some days you can eat a food you really do like, but it just doesn't quite satisfy on another day. Your comment got me thinking about all of my fragrances, and I realize that I have perhaps just three (out of about 12) that I always enjoy - Rive Gauche (I love old-school wet shaving), Polo Green, and Drakkar Noir (what can I say, I was a teen in the 80s!). As always, awesome video - thanks!
I have Colonia Leather and i’ll be honest with you... i hated it the first time i wore this perfume. But the second and third time i sprayed this scent it grew on me. I was slowly lured into the beautiful layers this perfume is made of. I can’t get enough of this perfume now. It mixes perfectly with my cigerrette smoke and creates an aroma that i absolutely love.
The usual excellent and thoughtful review. I've had this fragrance in my collection for several weeks and I very much like it. Love the leather with the rose in the background. I'd be very interested in your thoughts on Quercia and Ebano.
Excellent review Dan. I'm a leather guy so, I love this one. I own three of the Ingredients line. Quercia, Leather, and Mirra. I love the way Ebano smells too but, it doesn't seem to last on me. I'm a HUGE Acqua di Parma fan. I love my leathers bold. I have a fairly long commute to work so, even if I wear something bold to work, it's usually 'settled' by the time I get to work. I think I'll make this one my SOTD for tomorrow. Thanks Dan. You've just saved me a half hour worth of time tomorrow morning. LOL!
Hi James, I just bought the Quercia because I had a sample and loved the way it smelled, however i found it only lasts one to two hours on my skin before I can barely smell it, do u find this? Many thanks
Love this One & Ebano - The citrus/orange take opening is great👌🏼 The Oud has some of the same in your face opening - but In a good way 😎 Thanks for the presentation Dan 👍🏼🇩🇰
I sprayed a couple sprays of this Acqua di parma colonia leather on my lower arms before bed and then added some patchuoli oil from the heath-food store sparingly over-top of the colonia leather and in the morning after my shower, I was left with a pretty decent skin scent.
This isn't bad. Not sure how I feel about leather fragrances yet (most of the ones I've tried are weird/harsh) but this one is really smooth. Definitely liking this one more than Tuscan Leather.
Surprisingly, I do not like those signature Mediterranean Acqua di Parma fragrances...but I love both Colonia Leather and Essenza Oud - two brilliant fragrances IMO. One thing I need to state is that Colonia Leather is miles-apart from Tuscan Leather with only a faint passing similarity. Sure, they're both leather frags...but that's it as they are very, very, very different. Enjoyed the review as I feel this one, along with Essenza Oud, rate more attention. Cheers.
I disagree with your AI digital assistant. You're not bald. Great video as always, Mr. Smelly. I just bought my first bottle of Essenza based on your review of it. Loving it!
hi Mr smelly, wow this is a very in depth fragrance review, i really paid attention to what you had to say, and I really admire the fact that you leave the final decision to us, i think that we have or need a challenging scent in our collection, otherwise it is just a bit boring, i don't like tuscon leather (harsh ) so I am going to be looking for a sample to put my nose to, just a random question have you ever noticed on the magnetic top to savauge edt look on the inside and there is a picture of a fly, i notice when I was reminding myself of the scent when you review it
I blind bought this one cause i love the house but im trying really hard to like it. I dont know, there is something missing and yes i do get a lot of that boot polish note. 7/10 for me. But Ebano is great. Sweet woody patchouli spice. A bit old fashioned scent in the best way. Great video Dan.
I have got to try Acqua di Parma. I was thinking about starting with Essenza. Any recommendation would be appreciated. Great review. The leather sounds beautiful. Thank you, sir.
Hi mate, great review. I visited John Lewis today and tested it out along with a few creeds and ADP Oud. Leather has a Tuscan Leather vibe but no Rasberry, I get pure leather form it (noob fraghead) and seems to be performing well, I 100% agree with what you are saying here. I was about to drop £150 on some Tabacco Vanille but saw a MAC area so went for Velvet Teddy hahaha cutting corners mate!!!
Oh cool! You know Dimitri too? Yeah, nice bloke. Very opinionated. lol As for Colonia Leather, I think you've got something when you mentioned that it's rather "drier" than Tuscan Leather. I get that too. I tried layering a sample with MB Individuel to see if I could add some raspberry to it....total disaster. Your elaborate description is very much appreciated Dan - especially for people on the fence about purchasing the pricey stuff. Keep it up my friend.
Great review... I had to choose between Colonia Leather and the Essenza ...and I went with Essenza. But since I love leather this may be on my horizon. Bravo, well done. PS. Where ever did you find that photo of Audrey Hepburn, She never before looked so...so... round!
Thanks Lanier. I think Essenza is my favourite Acqu di Parma but I remember your first impression video helped me discover Leather! That lady is actually Maria Whittaker... a British glamour model who made an big impression on a 12 year old Mr Smelly back in the 80s!
I have Ginepro di Sardegna and Fico d'Amalfi from the blue line. Both great for spring / summer. Ginepro a bit more deep and complex but Fico is great for summer!
MrSmelly1977 sorry if you were offended by my comment what works in factory canteen sometimes doesn't work in an open forum, apologies again I will temper any future so called humour, yours Ali .
I just blind bought this based on your review. I love Tuscan leather but it's too expensive. I'm expecting good things. thanks for the review! I'm still in the haunt for ADP oud. Its awesome
Quercia and Ebano are beautiful but it's the bloody prices, I just don't get the ridiculous price point, and I have to say it's that what spoils the whole experience for me. Anyway, loved the Milo skit, surprising and funny.
I have this adp leather too be honest it strong for my taste every time i wear it i have wash my self off. i get the hype of tf tuscan leather it has the same vibe. this adp leather not for me. Love adp colonia intensa and adp oud .❤
Dont know if they smell the same i only smelled the “leather” not the colonia leather with the black bottle. Was the most disgusting fragrance i ever smelled in my life. Smelled like burnt rubber and ashtray. My wife and all my friends hated is as well. Projection is insane and even after a shower it continued to disturb my nose. I normally love leathers and knize ten is kind of my signature, but this one was horrifying. I dont get how anyone wants to smell like that.
