To add onto that Donald Glover Easter egg, I love that Hobie Brown was the one who took MCU Aaron Davis down considering Hobie was the original Prowler in main continuity.
Literally just got finished seeing ATSV with my family and as someone who is in to comics, seeing all the easter eggs was amazing. Not just the mcu ones but the comicbook, videogame, tv show, ones as well. I kept pointing one out like every 5 minutes to my brother who is a bit casual but still very much enjoys spiderman. This movie really understands almost any and all people who go to view it.
I ABSOLUTELY loved the spectacular spider man cameo!!! Watching the show as kid was fantastic but since then rewatching made me realize it’s the BEST Spider-Man cartoon in terms of plot, action and development!! Loved it!!!! 11:16
I think it's highly possible that Hailee Street has recorded lines for beyond the spiderverse but just didn't know that it was for beyond the spiderverse since they have been making these movies at the same time
I really enjoyed Josh Keaton as Steve Rogers in What If, I thought he sounded a lot like Chris Evans. I might have to check out Spectacular just for him.
I firmly believe what the Handbooks and the Marvel Appendix have always put forth; there’s only one Multiverse, and any inconsistencies can usually be chalked up to variants. The whole 616A, 616B and 616-Beta stuff from recent Spider-Man media is so stupid, though. Just make up a number, there’s literally an infinite amount to choose from.
The mocap thing is a standars in video games with big names, but I could totally see it getting into the movies. It's such and interesting topic including the cinematography of the movies so glad you guys are talking about all the aspects of the movie !
I've heard of a movie or 2 recording the actors in a 3D space for the animators to use as reference video, pretty rare probably because they have to pay the actors a lot more money I'd imagine. Having them act things out on a stage instead of sitting in a booth for a few hours. But yeah I think its much more typical to have animators shoot themselves for reference, and as an animator that's worked on movies and video games, I much prefer just getting the dialogue and the previs and then figuring out the performance myself
Each individual and or groups has a different numbering system on naming universes. That was somewhat established and hinted at in Doctor Strange 2 when the Illuminati state they were the once coining the main MCU 616. It kinda makes sense naming universes as you discover them because wouldn't any universe wanna be Earth 1?

Craziest easter egg for me was that they used a cutscene fro TASM 2 Videogame when they were showing Uncle Ben dying in different worlds. That game is so bad looks so goofy with Peter's head being tiny.

Fun fact not only that American dubs of anime matches the lip flaps, the Japanese dubs also do that usually the American dubs also try harder to be in sync with the lip flaps. Believe or not but anime usually animates first because anime is made to be cheap and fast (the animators are insanely good it's a shame they barely get paid)
