Hi all, I hope you find this useful and/or entertaining. If you're an artist coming into resin like me and you have loads of paints and colours already, I hope you find this helpful and maybe for your first cures you can use what you already have. Y'know, before you spend money on lica powders and pastes and glitters ect. You gotta try what you have first!
✨✨
I really appreciate any and all likes, comments and subscribes, as a new channel they really help push me out there and I would love to build an audience and join the crafty community.

Thank you for watching - if any one had any suggestions or advice I'm always willing to learn to better my videos. Unfortunately my only microphone is on my mobile/cell phone so apologies for the sound in some area, I'll always aim to improve!

I like little orange gummy looking skull so cool! Also another tip if you have a little spray bottle use that with isopropyl alcohol to spray your molds before you pour your resin, the alcohol will dissipate and won’t effect the cure of your resin. A couple of spritz doesn’t hurt 😁 May your project have less bubbles! ☺️

That’s a great tip, I do usually do that and I think for the large skull mould I completely forgot lol. I’ll remember next time, thank you!

Acrylic inks won't fade either, unlike alcohol inks. Great experiment, thanks.

A good rule is no more then 10% pigment to resin ratio. The only exception is mica powder that usually is fine 😊 experimenting is fun anyway!

Aye I knew it was around 10%, my eyeballing it so far hasn’t pushed me above that yet lol. Thank you!

I love these. I wanted to eat the “gummy” ones, too! 😂 Very cool experiment.

I use India inks in resin…. Especially black…. A couple drops and it’s super black… but the other colors takes a bit more to get an opaque… otherwise, they produce a very nice transparent…. Acrylic paint works well too… and yes, I like the matte finish they produce… I NEVER measure either…. Except resin…. i ALWAYS measure resin lol…

I wondered if India inks would have too much water content in them but now I’m tempted to try - thanks!

@@looseskullsscrafts I’m guessing that the link I sent didn’t go through since I don’t see it here…. The black India Ink I use is Dr. Ph. Martin's Black Star India (Hi-Carb) Ink and then the colored inks are: Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay India Ink 1.0 oz, Set 1 Colors …. And …. Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay India Ink 1.0 oz, Set 2 Colors I love these inks…. I also use them with water color brushes that you fill….

@@ZippedUpKitz Aaaah, I don't have any of Dr. Ph inks, though they've been on my wishlist for a long time. I have Winsor and Newton india inks in the tiny bottles. I guess they wouldn't last long if I use them as resin pigments but I will definitely try one just to see how it goes : )
