[Act 1.5] Solo Warlock - Destroying Githyanki Crèche Y'llek - Honour Mode

This time we take out the entire Crèche prior to fighting the Inquisitor. Allowing us a smooth exit once we've gained Vlaakiths wrath :D
After reaching level 7 it is time to respec for the last time. In this order: Fighter 1, Cleric 1, Warlock 5. This grant us con save proficiency, charisma stat on items scrolls etc and warlock extra attack. The build is still the same as in the video, just in a different leveling order.

Based on something you did in this episode I imagine we'll see a combination of Black Hole and Hunger of Hadar. Being able to recast the black hole back into the Hadar is so nice. I've always embarrassed a certain devil in his own home, no hope of escaping it. Don't seek help from a certain somebody who likes to ruin your plan with his crossbow though.

You just gave me an idea on how to play the certain devil in his own home, thank you :D. Gotta finally finish my very first playthrough, that I abandoned in the Lower City (if only for a specific achievement or two) and I'll make sure to include Wyll in my party :).

@@Kasiarzynka There is also that staff in Sorcerers Sundries (Markoheshkir) that will give it to you that is fairly easy to acquire. On my honour mode run my main was a Bardlock who had the HoH spell but Shart a tempest cleric had the staff with it pre cast before the fight so she had Hunger of Hadar on backup. Was almost tempted to drop her spirit guardians and have two HoH clouds running.

I used black hole and HOH at the house of grief, just below the stairs. It was satisfying.

Yeah, this is part of why the thief-warlock-sorcerer is so powerful on a character with the awakened buff. Might be the optimal player hero.

My favourite video of your honour mode runs yet for sure. Definitely inspired me to make a similar build for my next HM solo, love how you played this. Good luck on this one! Out of curiosity, how do you see this build scaling throughout Act 2/3? What are your plans to deal with the likes of Myrkul and Orin? 🙂 (In regards to damage output)

Thanks and glad to hear that inspired you! Good question. My only goal with the build was that it should be able to take down Myrkul, so I really hope it will! Tons of attacks and Hunger of Hadar is hopefully enough for em :). But I have not tried it out on the boss/es yet so we'll see heh (hopefully). :)

Still mid video but I gotta leave in a few minutes. For now I just wanted to say I actually learned using Minor Illusion from you 😅. One thing I noticed is its inconsistency in duration (it definitely doesn't always last 10 turns or a full minute) and that if you recast it while the old one is still active, they start walking away. If you DO however hold the new one ready until the old one disappears on its own volition, and THEN cast it, they're drawn to it. Saves recasting in stress, while they run away.

Congrast for the video. Your base class in con could be the sorcerer. Did you choose the warrior because of the action surge? Sorcerer could give more versatility in the way of playing.

Thank you. Yes fighter was picked for con saves, action surge and heavy armor as a bonus. It is quite a hefty investment but my reasoning is that I'd want to take out Myrkul as fast as possible (wiped there on my last attempt) and this combined with war cleric I'd end up with a truck load of attacks. We'll see if it's enough though!

Fighter also gives proficiency in all armor, weapons, and shields, as well as a little more starting HP. Using armor or a shield when not proficient hampers spell casting.

I love how the war priest charge obliges you to use a bonus action to attack even if sometimes it's unnecessary. Like when you fought the doctor. The game gave you another action but it forced you to use the bonus action war priest charge. What a waste :/

@@FriendlyLichTo fix this you have to respec to 1 Fighter, 5 Warlock (Extra Attack), 1 Cleric (War Priest Charges). This allows you to use the extra attack before you have to use the War Priest Charges. The game's combat sequence is apparently based on the order in which the skills were acquired.

I was only slightly worried only for Hold Person here due to the spore buff and wis proficiency from cleric. Also with 54+10 hp they would be unlikely (but not impossible of course) to kill me before making a save.

I definitely forgot about the cleric proficiency that was smart and the xt attack (even if it didn’t get much value lol)
