Man, I'm constantly forgetting that unsettling presence and form of dread are two different things.

@n_the_sky It's actually just disadvantage on *the next* saving throw they make within a minute, not all saving throws! All saves for a minute would be insanely powerful right before high-level combat with multiple casters all using spells like Disintegrate and Hold Person. (Hopefully you knew that and just phrased it ambiguously.) Unsettling Presence would be really good if used on someone the party actually wanted to fail a save (including against a spell like Charm Person, Fast Friends, or Detect Thoughts, or Banishment), instead of only ever for RP fun. Laudna's never done anything mechanically useful with it except an enhanced intimidation check. (I checked the kryogenix transcript search.) It's limited to 1 / long rest. Combined with Silvery Barbs, Laudna could be very effective at getting an important spell to land, basically double disadvantage. But IDK if she's ever used Silvery Barbs outside combat either. :/ She was going to use it in combat once in C3E24 (when the first met / saved Dusk: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z1wNcUDnoBk.htmlsi=mnqKRsnO8T9PqYx5&t=9133 ) but changed plans after realizing that she was far out of range. And another time in C3E47 when dealing with a guard who hadn't seen the party, whom FCG later banished, the wall was solid instead of bars so she changed plans and didn't break her invisibility. Other than that, just used for intimidation or RP lulz. Which is fun and all, and I really enjoy how Marisha RPs Laudna, but Bell's Hells are still generally poor at coordinating their abilities in and out of combat.

I just watched the haunted house special with Travis, and Arturo speaks true. She's a spooky. I'm glad Marisha is really enjoying her creepy character. Laudna is such a barrel of laffs.

you have to know the exact range of "normal" in order to know what's abnormal. the people best at being creepy know how to go juuuuust outside that normal human range of movement/tone/behavior and right into uncanny valley. marisha does this amazingly well! the sign of a really good actor!!
