Can we just talk for one second about the fact that Sam saved Travis's life, like how Grog saved Scanlans many times? Like, this is the ultimate thanks from Sam right here.
@@filipferencak2717 hold up. Intentional murder of a defenseless baby (granted to save someone else) = ok unintentional/ accidental murder of someone defenseless = Horrible? am I missing context here?
@@Firan25 1. I never said either one of them is ok, you're seriously misrepresenting me here. 2. I was actually saying that Nott's actions were worse. After rereading this thread, I can see how you would get confused.
Ah this is where it all started. Notts habit of pissing off large creatures to save her friends/family and barely making it out with just one hitpoint.
This was when I knew Nott was gonna be my favorite character. Also Marisha saying 'Nott the brave!' as praise before she realizes Nott is gonna fucking murder it.
It was the right call (in my humble opinion). Parents do amazing things when their kids are in danger. Translated to d&d rules the DM could call the manticore to rage like a barbarian. But that is hindsight. Again quick thinking and good call, keeping the flow in the story/moment.
And now coming back to this moment after ANOTHER epic 1ph moment happens with Sam and a blue bad guy they face in the future where he's also being brave and heroic...
If I had a nickel for every time Nott aggravates a giant flying creature to save an ally and get away with 1 hit point id have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s strange that it happened twice
This was the very first critical role clip I ever saw. I had no context for it, no idea who many of these people were, though I was vaguely familiar with Laura Bailey. I'm so glad I found it again, because this is where my fandom of CR started
Glad to hear that! I found out about critical role when i was in a very bad place. It made my days so much bearable. Its awesome to see how far they've gone and they totally deserve all the recognition that theyve been receiving throughout the years :)
Killing an actual monster raised by an evil actual monster to protect her friends and free the kidnapped/abducted townsfolk who would have been food for said monsters.
I was so disapointed by this action. I was already seeing the Mighty Nein taking the Baby Manticore and raising over the next couple of year to make it an awesome companion. This would have take a lot of care and consideration but could have been amazing.
@@CreativeUsernameEh This is up to your DM to decide whether or not creatures are bound by birth to their alignments, or if alignment is more a general rule to which an exceptional environment can bring exceptions. To me the second option opens possibilities for the world to be much more interesting for DM (more freedom) and players (unexpected behaviours).
Sure but even allowing that possibility, it would take at least a year (probably more who knows how fast manticores grow?) of in game time raising and training it before it was remotely useful, so unless they planned a break in the campaign, which since they're still just a wandering band of merc's would be difficult, it would just be a liability.
@@agilemind6241 I've never mentioned the "usefulness" of the creature. The very fact that they would have this creature to raise would have been a nice addition to the campaign. Now that i look back, this would have been incredibly difficult, especially after the hectic departure from Nicodranas. But still, a fucking manticore as a companion, how badass could it be!
But nott did it not only to get the people a chance to run but to draw the manticores attention away from fjord. I love same so much because hes constantly watching the field and looking on how to save everyone while making in game reasoning as to why he is doing it.
Innocent doesn't *technically* fit here. Even though the infant manticore hasn't done anything, the creature is still evil. As is the creature that abducted the innocent townsfolk with the intentions of feeding them to said infant.
