The police all seem to be trained to begin with the assurance that "you have every right to film" and then end with the directive to "just step back a little bit". They think the former justifies the latter, but it doesn't. You already knew what your rights were, and you aren't budging.

Doing security now is even more dangerous than being a cop there was an airport cop that got unlawfully arrested and charged and it was a trumped up charge called impersonating a police officer in this was done by the LA County sheriffs department and the LA County deputy sheriffs LA County generals from the LA County sheriffs department and that’s terrible and that’s not even good at all.
Did you ever notice that they send out one of the officers to stand between you and the action and distract you from what you should be doing. By talking with you, he is taking your attention from what is really going on and what really made you come to film. Move to the side, don't interact with the stooge taking your attention away. I've seen it multiple times from different auditors. Don't fall for it! They do it all of the time to keep your camera on the stooge and not on the real action behind them.

Question: is it an authority thing to move you back? Answer: It's twofold first authority, and second, it's keeping you distracted for as long as possible so whatever is going on you don't get to film.
Their whole game is to distract you and talk loudly and continue to keep talking loudly so that you can't tape any of the interaction between the police and the suspect. The best thing you can do is just ignore them and continue to record. The more you argue, the more you play into the game and miss the dialogue that's occurring between the police, who are most likely violating the rights of the suspect, and the suspect. Plus, they will eventually just put their hands on you and violate your rights if you ignore them.

If he is under arrest, just put him in the patrol car tow the vehicle and identify him later while booking him at the police station. Why cause drama at the scene.

Always love the work you do and I know you know this but it bears remembering: their tactic is to put a cop in front of you to distract you. I know you want to capture what this cop is saying but defeat their tactic. Ignore him, reposition to a better advantage and make the cop chase you around, all the while filming what the cops are doing in the vehicles. Keep up the good work!
State Law allows to Reposses a vehicle for non payment of towing or storage. If homeless living in a car the people will most likely remain homeless without a car.
Every cop has in their personal phone a few tow truck drivers phone number that pays them money. The cop will send the tow truck drivers a text with the description of the car and the highest bidder comes picks up the car. Some dude from Quality towing told me this. don't if it's fact. That red car their towing,, the office is probably getting $100 from the tow truck driver, easy. The hand is quicker than the eye my friend. Even cars that are not in criminal. Lamborghinis Corvettes they call their tow truck driver friend from that company and they get money bro every time they tow a car cop gets money
This veteran and former Federal Police Officer appreciates everyone fighting against tyrants in the government who abuse that power to feed their egos. It is just sad how many of them truly believe they are doing what is right and just and have lost the ability to know what is right and just. Abusing another person is NEVER RIGHT.
