ABOUT GURMUKH
Gurmukh is an internationally respected Kundalini yoga teacher and a pioneer in the field of prenatal yoga. She was born as Mary Mae Gibson in a small town in Illinois. At 19 years old, she left home and followed her desire to wander out West and do some soul searching. Her travels took her far and wide - she immersed herself in the ‘60s hippie culture of San Francisco, hitchhiked through Mexico, slept on a beach in Maui for two years, and spent a year meditating for seven hours a day at a Zen Buddhist temple. Her true journey began in 1970 when she met Yogi Bhajan, who brought Kundalini yoga to the West. She knew immediately that she had found her destiny. Yogi Bhajan gave her the name Gurmukh, which means “one who helps thousands across the world ocean.”
After studying with Yogi Bhajan for many years and teaching Kundalini yoga out of her home, Gurmukh and her husband pioneered Yogi Bhajan’s first yoga center in Los Angeles in the early ‘80s. Many years later, they opened additional studios in Hollywood and New York City. Since then, she has spent decades traveling the world to lead classes and trainings in Kundalini yoga and The Khalsa Way, her prenatal training program. Above all, Gurmukh believes that service brings people to their ultimate happiness, and she strives to serve and inspire others through her teaching.

What an amazing flow :-) thank you for being part of my Divine connection today. Spirit sent me here, and what you said about the sacral, the solar plexus and the heart is totally on point. It makes so much sense. Now to flush out my hips with a deep vinyasa flow 💜🔥🖤

Not sure if you’re aware, but RU-vid perhaps without your knowledge, has inserted ads in random places throughout this class.

I loved the practice but how can you focus on it if there are 6! ads in the middle of the video and you have to stand up to turn them off? Please, leave the ads only in the beginning and at the end of your videos. It will help a lot

Hi, I just did this yoga practice all the way through. It was difficult not because I don’t have a strong naval, I do, but because I have cam lesions on my hips that have over the years caused arthritis in my hips and back. Because of the cams my movement is restricted, because of the arthritis the movement is painful. My question is, should I push through the pain (I can do that) or does that ruin the mindful side of the practice. I can do the exercise in pain but my mind is only concentrated on the pain….which it can (for now) tolerate. I’m 60 next year. I would appreciate advice. Many thanks

The body has an inner intelligence. Really, only you can tell if you should "push through" or not. Listening, Listening, listening. For beginners, I would say do not push through the pain. Slow down, stop, modify...and keep the breathing and conscious awareness of the asana...and keep doing it perfectly in your minds eye! Just show up for yoga...it's the main thing. Sat nam.

The practice was great! But the advertising ruin it, the times was just in the middle of the exercises and I think it's irresponsable if you're trying to keep peoples attention to make it jump with a totally different vibe. I understand that your work is valuable and perhaps you do have to put ads but you could really do it before the next pose explanation, not every one can afford a youtube subscription, and they shouldn't be less cared, this is not a workout this is a knowledge transmition on understanding body and mind forces. Probably I could practice that ads do not to break my nerve but I can also speak my truth and ask if you could next time have this in consideration. The shooting was awesome.

Same here. The ads were very annoying in the middle. Alo is responsible for this because they can choose the ad settings to show ads only at the beginning and the end of their videos. Besides, Alo is a subscription-based website, so I don't see why this put-offish aggressive advertisement on their RU-vid.
