What we really need is for the msfs to actually simulate the interaction of the weather with the planes physically, turbulence, condensation, in short.

I'm interested, but will wait and see how this will impact overall sim performance. MSFS is pretty slow at the best of times, but if this is just going to add to the MSFS weather system and not be able to replace it, I'm a little worried about the likely performance hit.

Needless, the weather at MSFS is already beautiful. It doesn't make sense to put more weight on the simulator

@@RiemsAI Just to have more beautiful clouds (which they already are), it won't change anything in the physics of the simulator with the plane, just an extra fps thief to make the simulation more difficult, experience gain is null

That's exactly the problem, Asobo is good on beautiful, not so much on simulation. Active sky is known to depict realistic weather physics and a proper weather radar too. But with the Api limitations I doubt this is gonna be on par with their other products.

if the screenshots in your vid are anything to go by ( and if they depict AS clouds ) - then no thanks !. Default is much better.

I don't believe they are bringing new textures. So what you're seeing is the default MSFS clouds.

it's going to be a downgrade since weather addons can only set global weather, so you won't be able to see weather systems in the distance

You won’t imagine how difficult things can be to develop for MSFS because the sim itself has lots of limitations 10 years later after its predecessor. I’m a developer myself so I can tell. It’s not easy to develop addons for this sim worse if you don’t have talent within a team. They may be late but people will still make use of their efforts and products. Your one person you don’t have to get the addon. There are plenty of people that will.

The point is that it will be the best wx engine for the flight sim available. It was in P3d and xplane too I think

They have also spoke about FS2024 upgrades too so it will continue to the new sim. I think the issue we have is MSFS hasn't given the sim enough time for the developers to get their products in before the new one releases.
