In this video we explore the two prefectures that share Japan's world renowned volcano, Mt. Fuji (Yamanashi and Shizuoka). We set off on this journey super early in the morning by train from Tokyo and eventually get picked up by my sisters friends at Isawaonsen Station. Then we start to head toward our destination (by car) and stop at a rest station called Tabi No Eki. This is where I get the opportunity to try Mizu mochi which is a popular raindrop (water drop) mochi/rice cake snack from Yamanashi. If you have never tried mochi I highly recommend it. It is delicious. Since we are in such close proximity to Mt. Fuji we also get a glimpse of this beautiful volcano along our voyage. Then we continue down the mountain slowly making our way toward our final destination, the Fuji Kachoen Flower & Owl Park (富士花鳥園). Formerly known as Fuji International Garden, this park houses a wide variety of owls, falcons, eagles, parots, flamingos, penguins, and other rare species of birds. According to JapanTravel. com it is home to an enclosure of 120 Owls and a greenhouse of 10,000 Begonia and Fuchsia flowers that bloom all year round.
Fun fact: Yamanashi is much like a cereal bowl surrounded by tall mountains on every side. It is located two hours to the west of Tokyo by train. And is renowned throughout Japan for its fruit and many outdoor activities. Hence we were super excited to visit. Its harvest of grapes, peaches, and plums is consistently ranked as the best in Japan.
Have you ever been to any prefectures outside of Japan? If so, what did you think?

Rest stop??? Going to start calling Buckees the American Tabi No Eki. Owl park is something I never would have thought of seeing but it looked amazing. The tiny little owl on your shoulder and penguins just hanging out in a pond are hilarious. Great video and looking forward to seeing you on Drake's next diss track.

Fun video! I found your video because I'm looking up everything I can on Yamanashi. I'll be moving there in less than 2 years and I was hoping to get some additional perspective. If it's ok, think I could get a link to your sister's channel so I can watch her vids on the place?

My sister actually doesn’t have a RU-vid channel unfortunately. But if you ever have questions about Yamanashi we would be more than happy to assist! You’re gonna love it
