How do you know they are happy? You don't know that at all. In fact, she wasn't. She left her mate of 15 years in 2018 for another woman. "Happiness" is overrated. It changes from moment to moment and is insincere at best. Usually it is wrapped in selfishness. I'm sure her ex was hurt. What about her sons? I'm sure they were hurt by the loss. But even more what aout the fact they never had their father in their home due to following her wants and desires. Do you think it doesn't hurt them to grow up without a father? It isn't wise to embrace self indulgence regardless of the consequences to other people or society in general.Better start again.

Firstly, that no relationship should break up; stay together for the sake of staying together. Secondly, that no lesbian relationship should have children as there is no father in that relationship (would you apply the same to a relationship between two men where there is no mother). I couldn’t disagree more with both statements. My wife is a Director of a very large charity and one of their functions is providing refuges for battered women. Women who are so abused that their mental health, their physical being is in danger. And yet, my view of your reply is that those couples should stay together. With regard to your view on the need to have to parents of both sexes, please provide the evidence on which you base your view that the children of same-sex relationships are emotionally poorer or mentally weaker.

Why would I be commenting on abusive situations when I am replying to your comment about it all being good as long as the person is " happy"? Makes no sense. I have zero tolerance for abuse and I would never want anyone to stay in an abusive situation.That is the time to leave. I know all about abuse in homes. I spent years working with sexually, physically, emotionally abused babies, children and teens. I have images in my mind going back 20 years ago that will never go away from young children malnourished with layers of bruises, 2nd and 3rd degrees burns on a 1 year old who's single mother got frustrated and put her in scolding hot tub water. Or the 12 kids I met from ages 3 to 17, all had been sexually abused except the 3 year old. 9 girls and one 11 year old boy. Or the 5 year old boy with empty eyes who police looked in the winodw and found being physically and sexually abused by his father and grandfather while they gave him alcohol. His mother was in the kitchen. There are all kinds of things that make people "happy". All kinds of evil, horrible things. I could tell you a 100 more stories. Divorcing a childs parents because you're not "happy", bringing emotional pain and destruction of the family unit. Then bringing multple partners in, drinking, drugs. When I worked at a juvie we had kids that were in and out of there year after year not for big crimes but because they were out on the street drinking, not going to school. Why? Their parents were locked away in a room in the house boozing or doing drugs. Or they worked but when they were off they spent their time clubbing, looking for another man. Father's that abandoned their families to be "happy". Mother's that were barely there to find their "happiness". It's a load of selfish bull. Homosexual, heterosexual it doesn't matter. Kids need their mother and their father there. They need them to be sober, to not abuse them. To be committed to their marriage and to pour into them. The need a good male role model if they are a boy. They need a good female role model if they are a girl. Children crave to know and have relationship with their biological parents. Adoption is wonderful but even then almost all crave to learn and know their biological parent when they are grown if possible. And they need to be with the parent of the opposite sex as well. They need to know what it is to be loved right by them. They need to see healthy, strong relationships between their mother and father so they know what a healthy marriage will look like for them. Do you know how many children struggle with only one parent in the home? The emotional pain of the other parent not being there? Or the pain of divorce(torn)? Do you know how many children of gay couples have spoken out in recent years about their pain from not having a father or mother in the home? How much they hungered for that. In general society is selfish. Seeking "happiness" is not an excuse for seeking what makes us feel good regardless of the impact on our children or how it breaks down the family structure and society in general.

As I said in my first comment - if read - happiness is hard to find but it should not hurt others. You still seem to insist that it is far better for a couple to stay together, despite perhaps being desperately unhappy or being abused. An unhappy couple, it seems, is better than 2 single happy parents. I really don’t need to cite personal experiences to believe that what I am saying is right - and that what you are saying is bad for the children of an unhappy couple
