Kendall has no license to say and teach this technique and she also has no knowledge of the eastern philosophy that goes with this. 05:30 I totally sense what you are saying regarding heat and health. I have friends who, after many failed attempts to have a baby (miscarriages, etc), went to see a Chinese doctor. He said the mother should be warm at anytime and not to ever get anything cold around her belly (no cold baths, no going in the swimming pool, always cover her stomach in winter with an extra protection). And indeed, they now have a baby at long last.

Had a Chinese friend serve me warm water with some herbs to all our meals. I found it weird at first, but she told me that "cold water and warm food would only make trouble in the stomach" and that I had to choose whether to cool down or heat up. Helping the body keep up heat, gave the body time to do other things. Drinking cold water would make the job harder for the body, and the gut and brain would be less prioritized and suffer. I still drink cold water, but sometimes I choose tea, and think about this. And after all, I know my body calms down with warm drinks. Glad to hear this being backed up!

Great questions! We like to treat Gua Sha as the end of our skincare routine -- and the oil is the moisturizer! It gives a good chance to really work in all your products to the skin. If your skin doesn't love oils, you could always Gua Sha during the oil cleansing step! It is totally OK to Gua Sha with acne! Make sure you start with a clean face and a clean tool, and don't do it over broken skin or open pimples (cover them up with a pimple patch first!)!

I came here to mention that book A Tooth from the Tiger's Mouth: How to Treat Your Injuries with Powerful Healing Secrets of the Great Chinese Warrior! It talks about heat when treating injuries and how “ice is for dead people”. Idk why this has stuck with me but it now drives me crazy when people go for ice with anything!

I enjoyed your video! Thank you for the great information. I was wondering, what are your thoughts on Rose hip oil with actives for the face such as vitamin c etc? Some dermatologists say that it's good and your also getting the benefits from actives also

I was just coming here to see if anyone had already asked about rose hip oil, especially for acne-prone skin.

This is great! I'm happy to know I'm using this correctly. I didn't realize I could go up on my neck strokes and will do that next time.

Subbed. Came to YT before using my new gua sha stone. Happy I did bc I'd just put it in the freezer. It's out now. Thank you!
