lol I don't blame you. If you decide to do the work, use factory bulbs. The cheap aftermarket bulbs don't last.

I said fuck it, I'm trading Ariana the Acura. Might get a used Infiniti IPL. Hendrick Acura here in KC wants over $450 to fix the bulb. Hell I only put $400 down to finance it. I rather just pay a couple hundred bucks on a down-payment + trade before I dare spend that much on a bulb replacement.

it's the worse thought out design I've ever seen for replacing headlights. I did it myself but if you take it to acura I'm guessing they need to charge you 500 for parts and labor. for freaking headlight replacement!

Looks like too much trouble. Saw another video where you don't have to remove the bumper. I wouldn't try it without this video, though, because they couldn't show a good view of the bulb housing. This video fills that gap. Thanks!

These directions work well for a 2006 as well. There are a few differences in the attachment of the bumper cover at the wheels, screw instead of a 10mm.

I also did this back in 2009 when I sent mine in to be cleared for my Modded WDP TL Type-S . Cleared with carbon fiber from a guy on AZ. Then I put in all LED's cleared all. LED Turn signal amber/white flashing etc. Take you time guys. It is simple. Like making Killer home mad Lasagne :)

You don't need to remove the bumper. Pull the inner fender liner back. Plenty of room to get to it. Drivers side you could even remove the battery and have plenty of room to get to it.

Just removing the battery on a 05 does not give enough room. Taking the headlight out or removing the wheel and wheel well can work also. This was absolutely the most convoluted bulb replacement I've ever had to do. Someone who doesn't do their own stuff 100% has to take this to a garage for light bulb change. Insane.

Thanks for the heads-up that a security torx is required. Would have been nice if you'd have told us the size as well. ☹️ It's a T20 "tamper-proof" or security torx.

Guys don't need to take the whole bumper cover off, you can do change bulbs from inside. But if you want to swap the modul you have to take the bumper out then

Question, I just had my passenger side to blow on me. currently my driver side still burns but at times flicker. is there a ballast that I would need to change to or will changing that bulb too solve the flicker? Where did you order your bulbs ? I saw where you posted the after market ones don't last. Dealer or online from Ebay?

Great video, now I know never to try to do this. Was thinking about changing out my 05 fogs to LED's, that thought is now gone. I'm assuming Acura made changing the lights this difficult due to the 2g TL's HID's getting stolen all the time. They were a huge theft item back in the day when HID's were new technology, everyone wanted them, and they were easy to steal off the 2g TL.

I got a guy to do it at his shop I only paid 150, I wouldn't have been able to get the dent out of the fender to mount the light myself without fuckin something up! Im satisfied, but thanks for the video it was very informative! happy New Year brosky!

Please pay attention!!! Im online looking for something else and seen this. I changed my wifes 2008 TL and was about to remove the bumper and then realized. I removed the rim, peeled back the plastic wheel well and looked up and seen the cover for the bulb!!! S.O.B I almost removed the whole bumber. You have to unscrew it blindly. Hope this helps

Hi could you help me identify the bulb size I need ? I have a 2004 Acura TL and one of my bulbs is going bad (it turned pink) as far as I know they are xenon and I would like to put LED’s.. I’m a little confused with the whole low beam/high beam and fog lights location so I’m not sure which bulb size I need. So the d2s are the inner bulbs or the fog lights correct? So driver side the d2s would be the bulb on the left or right ? I need the bulb size for the one on the right if we are looking at the driver side... is that d2s ? I’ve also seen a 9005 and 9006 that fits my car but have no idea which goes where. Sorry for the long message but could you help me out please ? Thanks!

Not without some conversion kit, but why would you? This is probably one of the best if not the best HID lights setup on any vehicle out there.

I've had some comments over the years that it's possible to replace without removing the bumper. I have no idea how they did it. Even removing the splash shield doesn't provide enough working room. Don't forget, you have the cover over the bulb assembly. Nonetheless, you can give it a try. Hope it works out!

EASIER METHOD: I've done this job twice now on my 07 and wish someone had explained this to me. If you are just changing the bulbs, don't remove the bumper. The driver's side can be done by removing the battery and battery tray. You can then reach right in there to twist off the cover, pull it out, and change the bulb. The best way on the passenger's side is to remove the wheel and peel back the front half of the fender liner. This headlight has a T20 security screw that you need to remove. There is not one on the driver's side. Once you peel back the liner, you can get to the screw, remove the cover, and replace the bulb. Having done this twice, I can do this in under an hour from the time I enter my garage to the time my tools are all put away. Should be no more than a 2 hour job your first time with this method.

My headlights drive me nuts so I put them in the oven @ 225 degrees, etc.. What a pain in the A$$ To get all the old Glue out of the groves so I could silicone them back together. I did that around 2015. Its 12:11am Now sat. Jan 5th 2019. Shabbat Shalom = Peace . Later , I am 10-7

CarsNToys I just turned my wheel all the way to the left removed the wheel well and everything was exposed mines didn’t have a cap. So someone had that issue before and left it off. I removed the igniter, then pulled the clip that holds the light 💡 bulb one to the left and the other towards the right not just straight back and replaced everything. The hardest part was getting the light to stay in place when putting it back but eventually I got it and everything works.
