That episode of MoonQuest shall forever be remembered in the annals of Minecraft history, up there with "Revenge, and "Fallen Kingdom." If I were to make a museum to Minecraft history, that specific part would be in there
Ad Astra also fits in very well with create, as the blocks have a simmilar style, and with crafts and additions, you can generate power for the machines
dragon block v is a dragon ball mod that coming out soon™. obviously it's mainly a dragon ball mod but it somehow has the best space system of any minecraft mod i've seen lol
@@astrapdankIt's not better, it's different, galacticraft with its addons has hundreds of planets and solar systems to explore, while the rockestry adv focuses more on space stations.
@@alejandrodasilva8110 Advanced Rocketry has infinite worlds generation. But the main reason I like it it's because is more realistic and satisfying to play than galacticraft
@@jeffboy4231 Yea but DBV is for minecraft 1.7.10 only and a lot of people are not going to play that version. Really I only expect people who are in the DBV discord to play it.
Only issue I had with it was that the ocean was filled with oil. Every 150 or so blocks there was a murky water pillar sticking out of the sea. Otherwise a wonderful mod with great promise!
Has anyone noticed the detail the mod creator went through to make this 1.19 mod to be excatly like galactic craft? I'm really excited to see what other mods get remastered in 1.19 so we can have a modern version of 1.12 mods
it definitely seemed like it was trying to mimic galacticraft at first, but then the moment I saw the NASA workbench, it immediately clicked that it either has direct inspiration from it or is meant to be a remastered and updated version
Ah yes my favorite episode of the apollo mission, the one where they use the souls of the damed to light up deep caves filled with cheese and used pure diamond blades to fight off aliens
I love how the oxygen works in this! Especially how you can have different zones with oxygen sensors in each, so when there isn’t any oxygen, you can block off the vents to conserve your “totally finite” water source and keep breathing!
Hey Noxus! I remember responding on one of your videos about Ad Astra. I do appreciate this review it’s actually really nicely made! I do have a question though. Was there any things that you think would make the mod better? I always love hearing feedback :) Thanks!
Did your mod has compatibility with mekanism like addon that beyond earth has. Also I feel really sorry when knowing what happen in beyond earth team and happy when you guy still want to continue this legacy :3
Just as a suggestion, try to poblate each planet more before adding new planets. As of there are too many planets (even more than in base Galacticraft in its final releases) but they are too empty. I would honestly focus in the Moon and Mars before continuing to develop other planets. I would rather have an unique dimension containing unique mobs with new mechanics than 5 barren planets with mobs copied from vanilla. Just my opinion.
The way you explained how to do certain things felt so innocent... Because I know someone is going to make extremely efficient farms that make the intended way look like an ant
The key to making a good space mod will be using the methodology behind the old airship mod and newer successors to it. This would allow one to build a rocket block by block. Even better, one could also design the lander vehicles.
@@tigerboy4705 I'm on the same page. In fact, it's almost like an anti-AR, because while Galacticraft's texture art has always ranged from good to... fine, AR is consistently dedicated to the worst, most unpleasant textures in the entire modding ecosystem. The fact that the texture art in Ad Astra is actually competent makes it even more distant from Advanced Rocketry.
Dude I love the way how you clearly explain everything in this mod Its as if my friend explains me a lesson and I understand everything ! keep going and I'm waiting for a part 2 of this showcase video
Loved the video @Noxus! Can't wait for the next video man! Not gonna lie though, I'm kinda Hoping that you can have the Ability to Build your Own Starships or even your own Fleet with this Mod at some point! Comparability with Create Mod and/or ComputerCraft would come in Handy for when you have to Build the Ship's Systems. Imagine seeing The Ships from "Star Trek", "Star Wars" or even "Battlestar Galactica" or "Babylon 5" in Minecraft with this Mod!
I like it, it's less complicated than Advanced rocketry with adventure elements rather than pure realism, but yet it's more complex than Galacticraft, Also steel production, energy and metal plates will fit well with other forge mods like immersive enginering
I really needed my space mod fix, modded minecraft really wasn’t the same for me once galacticraft stopped being update (but I think its being worked on) so this is great.
Hey someone from the team here. Ad Astra and beyond earth are made by the same people but the owner of beyond earth wasn’t a good owner so we had to compromise. Hope this made since.
@@PlayzzDumb Oh yeah I learned this after I made the comment. I recall seeing that the old project lead was incredibly immature. It's no surprise why anyone left honestly. I can't speak for anything else they did of course.
@@PlayzzDumb Oh no worries. I've been deep in the modding community myself for years. I've done development as well and absolutely understand how these things go. It irritates me when people are so confidently wrong.
Ok I'm going to get into this mod in atm8 for sure! All I need is to set up a better storage solution as I'm running out of space quite quickly, and then I can craft the required items :)
Still confused on which one to follow, Ad Astra or Beyond Earth. BE seems to be getting updates recently unlike AA. Also, i strongly dislike prebuilt space stations using End Rods as a pretend-lamps
We plan on revamping all our prebuilt structures, and really appreciate the feedback here! The Ad Astra team has been working on a large content update for the last few weeks, which is why we haven't release anything in a bit. We are still actively working on the mod!
@@CodexAdrian Variety of decorative (and functional are never not welcome either, haha) space-themed blocks and devices, of course. I mean, obviously space stations made out of stone\wood\iron blocks and lit up with medieval lamps or magic rods, with wooden doors and ladders and so on is just... no. End Rods are especially bad imo mostly because they're an End related materials and are most likely an important material for end-game stuff in any effort pack and them being pretend-lamps on the station means your mod has either have to be gated beyond The End or it's a potential sequencebreaker. But yeah, airtight space\laboratory doors, sturdy space glass, buzzing\beep-booping consoles and terminals, coolant tubes, station equipment, lockers, airlocks, all that stuff are, imo, important. Anyway, good luck to you guys! Making a pack for myself with your mod now. :)
I'm having a problem with the mod, I can't transfer energy from the coal generator to the other machines, I'm always putting the machines on the side of the coal generator, but it doesn't transfer, I've tried with the power cables and nothing, I even tested it with the mekanism generators power generation but none works, how can I solve this problem?
@@rubenrubs7371 I already saw what the problem is and that's not what you suggested, the problem is with optifine, it prevents fluids or energy from being transferred between machines
I very much prefer Advanced Rocketry style, at least the 'build your own ship out of blocks' aspect, but this looks like a worthy successor to the classic, the original Minecraft space exploration mod, Galacticraft.
Looks greats, my only concern is it’s compatible with other mods. My one issue with space mods is the inability to use other major mods’ cables/machinery since they’ll break the oxygen seal of a room, and I want to make my main base on another planet but can’t because of this.
I love how this mod tried to be less of a logistical nightmare than Galacticraft but failed because of the fuck ton of steel you require for your first rocket
It looks like the best option would be to make a sink from cooking for blockheads. It's an infinite water source that only takes up 1 block, and it refills water buckets too. I'd say it's a must for this mod.
I was a huge fan of galactic craft. Now this is a more polished version of it, and working on recent versions! I hope it keeps getting updated, this have the potential to be one of the best mods of the current era.
I have a modded server with my friends and I've become "the space guy" and I'm the one that goes to the planets, can't wait to hear what they say when I come back with the jet suit
this mod feels like it would be pretty clunky on its own, but would be pretty great in even a small modpack with a proper steal recipe, thermal machines, pipez for resource transfer, maybe powah. or literally just mekanism lmao
Amazing mod, I just think that the progress is really fast for the first year rockets. Just mine some iron, and make the easy to make machines and refine some steal.
I really wanna try this, since it’s more or less an upgraded version of Beyond Earth, but the 1.19.2 version is currently bugged so that it crashes the game whenever it tries to launch. :/
