Hearing about progressive advisors being picked is great. I’m liking this new version of the party. I feel like Bernie, despite not ever getting the nod, really moved us in a healthier direction.
Harris' plan on "price gouging" is about breaking up a monopolized food industry. It's not about imposing price limits on the food industry. Monopolies stifle competition and competition is the main engine of our free capitalist economy. Competition is what controls pricing, monopolies control and eliminate competition, thereby controling pricing indirectly. Only six companies control 85% of US beef production, 80% of corn seed distribution, 75% of fertilizers and 65% of grocery marketing. Breaking up a monopoly and allowing more competition to enter the industry and offer more supply at cheaper costs is the only way to bring down pricing. That's how she lowers prices, by breaking up monopolies not imposing price caps.
I'm so glad the Democrats are incorporating some progressive ideas that the majority of Americans love. Never thought I would see this day. I love everything so far.
Thankfully people finally realize that there was no inflation. Companies increased their prices for no reason other to than make their shareholders more money. In the meantime, there are people who dont do their due diligence to know the reason of why things happen.
To be accurate, there was and still is a little inflation, it is just that it has been greatly exaggerated and increased artificially by manipulative tactics of greed ... "greedflation".

I just about had it with all the major insurance companies I feel as if they are a bunch of thieves only jacking up my rates to steal my money. For years I pay hundreds of dollars putting my own health insurance coverage on hold to be able to pay my car insurance so that I can comply with the law so that my car registration is NOT SUSPENDED and the DMV does not fine me also hundreds of dollars for going with our car insurance. This issue really bothers me and I care for so come November or 2025 I want Democrats to do something for me just like WE THE PEOPLE are doing something for them. AMEN brothers and sisters..😊

Forget $12 plane ticket insurance that's unnecessary - listen to Ana - my homeowners insurance went from $2400 to $5400 in two years - yes I've shopped it around - and I live in the Midwest outside of tornado alley and not where flooding is an issue - we occasionally get wind or hail that can damage roofs but we pretty much have no natural disaster issues. I've made no homeowners claims in 15 years of ownership. This increase is unprecedented and insane.

this is amazingly good news. if Harris/Walz accomplish even a fraction of what's talked about here, she may end up being the best president we've had in my lifetime. dare i say, it may have been worth going thru the disaster of Trump's term if it led us to this. now we need to do our part and VOTE her in.
No candidate is perfect and no candidate will give us everything we want. To assume they will is naive. She has to be the president for all people not just progressives. We need to remember that.

Thank you for mentioning insurance Ana! It has gotten absolutely horrible, jacked up prices for measly coverage! I remember when you could switch insurance once every couple years and be guaranteed to get a better rate. Now, every year my mortgage has been going up about $100 a month because of insurance costs.
Speaking of resort fees I recently stayed at a hotel. I prepaid so I was shocked when I got my bank statement and there was an extra $24 tacked on for what I don't know!! That particular hotel also charged for parking. It's very difficult to stay on budget when you are nickel and dimed to death!!
I think over the last 4 yaers at least. Kamala Harris has moved more to the Progressive side on many topics. Especially the ones that matter most to people now.
ANA, I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT, though I DID feel the same way at your age. I'm 73, still backpacking and climbing and going to high fitness 3 times a week to be able to do the aforementioned. I have 6 kids and 21 grandkids, and can out hike all my kids but one. I DID feel the same as you at your age, but INAPROPRIATELY! I had to quit my family practice after a traumatic brain injury, but I can still drive, hike, and backpack. (Rock climbing and mountain biking had to stop secondary to loss of balance.) You will be just as good 30 years from now if you work at it ! And YOU, more than most, have the drive !!

IT is mind boggling watching American politics - Is capitalism really a good thing? Some complain so much about Socialism. Had skin issue yesterday and needed to go to doc. There was an emergency care & urgent. I said to emerg, b4 u give me a room, I need to know cost. They said it's against law to give cost.....we r so screwed as medical consumers

Plus I wanted a triage before allowing them to check me into room. If they were just going to give me a cream or med, but have me pay 1000s for vitals and a bed, I wanted to know what I could expect b4 committing. They won't give u any info until they can charge you for nothing (to start, ie bed, vitals). Then doc can come in, say nothing for me to do and charge 1000s for that. It's so bad
Ended up leaving and going to urgent care. Figured that is only a few 100 and result was antibiotic (some follicle infected) at this time. It's crazy that the emergency care couldn't give me any costs for facility or care. Same applies to urgent or pri as you have triage your own problem and then all docs do now days is put bandaids on it. No root cause or fix. And we still have no power to negotiate cost. No matter what, you pay once you walk in door whether or not they do anything to help
