Same here, I get chills listening to this. And it makes me sad. There's a melancholy underneath this song. For a man with Sandler's experience in show business, wealth and fame to look back at his bar mitzvah as the happiest day of his life is kind of amazing. Usually people that famous seem pretty unrelatable, but it's really touching that Sandler shares our nostalgia for that adolescent feeling of discovery.

My son was invited to a Bar Mitzvah at 13. That sketch of the tall girls and short boys just about slayed me. That was EXACTLY how it looked...only the girls spent the time checking out the boys and the boys spent the time checking out the food.

This song and the Chris Farley tribute song really hit me in Sandler's special. Sure he's a comedian but you definitely realize just how talented he is musically, Bar Mitzvah Boy could be a heartfelt radio song with tons of staying power (imo). The Farley tribute is more personal obviously, you realize how close they were and that makes it sad enough, but then the guitar solo hits and it was for real hard to hold back the tears, especially if you've lost a close friend. Loved Adam Sandler since the SNL days and especially They're All Gonna Laugh At You. God knows I wore that cassette tape out.

I had to take my mom to the dentist so I downloaded this special so I could watch while I waited. I was in the car and it was SO HOT, the sun was literally burning me, but when that song was playing, a nice breeze came in through the window and it felt super good! I always feel and remember that when I listen to this song

I'm hoping Adam Sandler sees this!! My name is Kara from Hudson NH. I work at Hills Garrison elementary as a lunch lady. Myself and 3 other Co workers like to perform songs, dance and be goofy for the kids during lunch time. We dress up and bring in microphones. Our last performance was for spring break we dance, sing, hulahoop, and jump rope. We sang vacation by the go go girls. This Friday is lunch lady appreciation day. Unlike most of the people in this comment section I happen to be a real fan of Adam Sandler and appreciate his comedy and everything he does. I'm happy Netflix doesn't cater to the negative people and continues to give him specials at work. Fuck anyone who says otherwise. This man was a huge part of my childhood and I still respect him.
