At the time his original comedy tapes came out and his earlier films like Billy Madison are truly funny. I think his massive rise to fame got the best of him and his persona was worn out in a formulaic way that had massively diminishing returns but continues to fill his pockets and studios. I’ll always remember the classic Sandler stuff. Although I don’t care for his new material and movies I don’t think he deserves the hate he gets. Yea he’s not funny but he “made it” which some would call selling out logically so. Most who can make it in Comedy have done some work to get there and I think Adam Sandler will be always remembered as a comedy legend despite what people think of him now. It would be cool if he had another smash hit comedy film or two in him.
