From his music as Owl City to here, i have never been failed when it comes to Adam Young. He is a true artist and i will always be astounded by his work. From space to the oceans, these scores show so much passion and feeling and i couldn't be happier he shared this with us .
Honestly, I must say, that Adam young is my most fav musician hands down. I love not like, love about 99% of all of his music old and new. And now he's an epic composer! His music makes me feel so there. I mean, dang. I feel like I need to put a heavy coat on just to listen to base camp.
Khumbu Icefall is just fucking legendary and breathtaking, i can just picture being on the enormous mountain with the breathtaking view feeling awe and fear and humbleness at the same time. Adam please use these instrumentals in your next oxl city album.
I just adore South Col. I can't really tell you why, but something about it is mysterious and relaxing and then it just turns so epic and adventurous so seamlessly. No idea how he does it!
I'm getting ready to crew for a theater production of Fiddler on the Roof and listening to this calmed me down so much. Adam Young, you have me in awe.
I just watched The Summit of the Gods on Netflix and kept thinking of this score the whole time. I still hope Adam gets the chance to actually score a film one day, or at least return to this project!
I've never been to Everest before, I've never hiked, but I really felt this score really captured the atmosphere of Everest, from the base camp, dangers of the khumbu icefall, all the way to reaching the summit. Sadly this score was quite short, only 24 minutes long. I wish there was another track after The Summit called The Descent :P other than that, 10/10
Track 7, titled: The Summit: . Features a recurring guitar melody, very similar to his old song: Chori Ward. . The melody in question is played in a different key, followed by a different chord progression but both songs are heavy metal! Compare for yourselves: . The Summit [20:18] .
