I would DEFINITELY do a "freshening" on the transmission. If it's that far out, now the time, especially since you'll be hooking it to a V8!!!

Especially since that Orange/Red RTV on the input shaft bearing cover was definitely not factory... means someone has been in there before.

@@SarahnTuned they're pretty stout gearboxes and it's going in a super lightweight car so unless you decide to drag race it I think you'll be fine. I just wouldn't put it in (permanently) without going through it. No way to know how much it was abused previously.

I prefer this Celica build to any other builds on YT. Lamborghini Porsche McLaren blah blah blah are common as A holes. It seems every YT er has one or has had one and it meant NOTHING to them. This Celica build will be dipped in Sarah's secret sauce and THAT is why I'm here.

Hey Sarah, i’m surprised but very happy there hasn’t been more fabricating/cutting needed. so cool you’re able to get basically custom-made parts off the shelf when not all that long ago it would’ve been needed to be 100% fabricated. Instead of a wiper for the vapor blaster, Google "spin window". It's a round port hole looking device that spins the water off. They use them on CNC machines and also on ship windows (so they can see out during heavy rain). You can buy them new or used....

I have a 1uz w58 in my RA40 Celica. Great fun to drive. Did all the work myself but I’m picking up some things I might try. Also I’m ex Royal Australian Airforce mechanic now i teach high school kids about cars lol😅

I have a 1977 celica with a LS1 and I used a 1st gen rx7 (SA22C) radiator and it fit deeper in the radiator support giving you more room. Aftermarket ones are 3 core and will easily cool a v8

Maybe put a 'T' fitting on the water hose inside the cabinet and run another small hose to a piece of pipe, with holes drilled into it, that is fixed to the top of the window. That would give you a constant fresh flood across the glass.

Awesome 👍🏽 in New Zealand back in the day we had no new adaptation parts so you had to make them or know someone that new all the different cars and what could be swapped around on them, or you started the project and ended up just sitting there for a few years then someone had made adaptive parts for it lol 😀👍🏽 plus some guys could make new bellhousing from scrap metal to fit with adapter plates

A little cheek flexing never goes unnoticed. Nice judicious adjustments to get that chunk to fit under the hood. Amazing to see that it's possible. Always an enjoyable learning experience with a lot of laughs along the rocky path of custom fitment.
