I wish these video's were a bit longer, you're getting into the challenging aspects of this modification and it's really educating. Keep up the great work you three!
Watching you take surprises in stride is inspirational. You'll be a Toyota savant after this project. Altering the tunnel is something I look forward to watching. I was dubious about altering the bell housing.
I am totally enjoying watching this progress. You're a great teacher, a great editor/videographer and a great doer, those traits all in one human are rare, not to mention your quirky ironic sense of humor! You, Angel and Charlie rock.
This is the most interesting build of all the content I follow and I love the sentiment behind it. Thank you Sarah for some of the best content on the webs.
Biggest thing is making sure you have the correct engine/pinion angle that will make placement that much more simpler for motor mounts and give the proper clearances needed.
@@SarahnTuned This mod project build is so interesting.. For one thing i'm really certain when you done this Celica will be really cool and unique, because hard work always pays big time. Ohh by the way why the penguins do not help you 🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧?.. We are watching you from Europe and we love your channel ..
Just a useful tip incase you do not know already, when taking an old hose off as a radiator or vaccuum, instead of pulling on it first which causes the hose to stretch and shrink tighter on the metal pipe, try to push it further in first which will make it bow out away from the metal pipe and breaking the seal then it comes off much easier.
I'm so glad you found Angel! He's a great addition to the videos, and his being there cuts the risk or you being injured by trying to do stuff alone that, well, you shouldn't. The Celica project and Ford Ranger are definitely my favorites so far.
Finally at the cutting, fabricating and welding stages. ;) I was wondering if it might bolt in, but wow that is a lot more engine than it came with, so expected. I know you'll make it clean, that's what really matters.
This is by far my favorite build of yours and I’m really looking forward to both following the process as well as the result. I think this car is going to be quick. Keep up the great work!
I love your commitment at the beginning of these videos in the Celica series to say a sentence that absolutely has NEVER been said before. a patented recipe for hummus and brie gooch deodorant???? thats hilarious
Hi Sarah make sure you leave enough space between the bell housing and the body of the car because when you give it the beans, the transmission suport and engine mounts will flex and if the housing touches the body you won't like the sound.
@13:43 GREAT SCOTTS Marty, that is precisely the time when the lightning will strike the clock tower and the 2uz must be going at least 88 MPH to make the jump...
Now that I see where you are going with this build, I'm looking forward to seeing you get there. Also, it seems like over the last few videos you've reached a new level of self-confidence in your presentation. Relaxed is fun.
My first duty station in the Marines was Camp Lejeune NC and I tried very hard to find this exact same vehicle to no avail. If this goes on auction, I will bid. :-) Love it and loving the videos. Thanks for sharing.
I lived in Jacksonville before, had an Aunt & Uncle stationed at Camp Lejeune . This car will not be for sale, sorry. Although there is one on Craigslist in SoCal last I looked for about $10k.
I almost felt like it was going too well for a minute... I'd probably cut the trans ribs before cutting the firewall and chance it, hahaha. No matter what I know it's gonna end up really well done!
Gotta love how Angel is always ready to capture Sarah in pain. 😉👏🏻😂 Everything is going to be super tight in that engine bay. Hope there’s going to be enough room to do maintenance… 🤞🏻
This is 1 rad Toyota build. I love how you can mix and match parts like Legos. I have a project Mazda 323 and talk incompatible. Glad to see a fellow Southern AZ person putting in work. Benson reporting in, hope to see the Celica on the mean streets of the Dirty T soon.
I agree. If done right it would be cleaner and more solid than fabricating a section and welding it in. Especially for just a couple of small locations to make room for the bellhousing ribs.
How about an ITB (individual throttle body) setup for some hood clearance? bonus they sound and look awesome. There are some ITB setups for the 1,2,3,UZ out there just not sure if they will work with your overall plan?!? Been a long time since i have messed with Toyota's but all your Toyota content is jogging my memory of such things
The 2005 + 2uz has a plastic intake that added a dual length intake runner set up that was added when they went to VVTI. If you eliminate it you will lose torque and horsepower. It was a popular retrofit to older 2uz Tundra, Sequioa, 4runner. The 2005 2UZ had the highest horsepower and torque numbers because of the selectable intake runners and the VVTI.
For your engine lift, try to find a leveler. This is a spindle that helps you adjust the angle of the engine while hoisting. And get an ozone generator to kill the mold. And don't inhale the ozone.
Enjoying the project 😎. It will be interesting to see how you can get the torque and power down to their ground. 39 years ago I had a KKK turbocharged 1600 1975 TA22 Celica with @250 hp and that could brake traction pretty easy . Cheers 👍👍👍🇦🇺
This is Celica #5. 1, 2, UZ Vibe. Everyone watch the show and enjoy the ride. To the penguine score around the corner, the girl needs some cleaning juice before the frablicobler. Nuts bust like they did last week, I must stay deep because jokes are cheap. I like Angel, a hammer, a sander, a or cake, yah And as they continue, you know they getting cleaner (uh) So what did I do? I really beg you, my Lord To me it fitting but it’s just a little short. Everything is fried, it all good, let me dump it Please send me the trunk kit. A little bit of Celica in my life A little bit of Civic on the side A little bit of Quattros all I need A little bit of Dos is what I see A little bit of Ranger in the sun A little bit of Pokey all night long A little bit of Gump and here I am, A little bit of Charlie is her man
