Putting a Hellcat Blower on an RT? Fantastic or a Terrible Idea? 

RT used to mean something but it became the pedestrian car in V6 or V8 narrow body form. The rental car trim. Even for the trucks mines an SLT Plus, so its missing leather seats and wheel and two speakers from a 90s early 00s Laramie. Now Laramie is a tick above mid level. Even worse with RAM adding Tungsten now 😂 it’s basically just about the appointments and not the heritage.

R/T scat pack stock for stock is quite the contender.

I'm a Florida man myself aswell. And I can confirm that 5.7 hemis with a hellkitty blower is one of unexplainable goals.

Made 850 running 18psi ported by kong 1300cc injectors e85 122mm throttle body 2 demon pumps and a boost a pump injectors are at 60%

People have been doing similar in the mustang world for 20+ years the dodge guys are behind lol...people stuff 03-04 cobra blowers on mach 1s and gt and pre 2003 cobras that were na stock. People put 07 up gt500 blowers on 3v cars and even coyotes. Now people run the newest gt500 blower on the coyotes. People do it in the gm world too when they run zl1 and zr1 and ctsv blowers on other ls engines that didn't come supercharged.

@@bailey9r yes mine is a Shaker also, I will see if I can fab somekind of mount, either on the blower or to the hood room permitting. I ve seen one guy had incorporated the Shaker to the hood. Either way I will post pictures or a vid.

mraoj... i was taught to add ring gap for boost.... theres a formula for it if i remember right.... could too small of a ring gap be what tore your piston ul? just curious this fella didnt mention it except that it was all stock....

Don't worry your pistons are just disintegrating

You have to ring gap the pistons on the 6.4, then you're good to go... the tranny will hold up to 700hp

6.4s are specially made for N/A power, they have higher compression rates and thinner walls.

Yeah, boost a scatpack and it’ll blow. Dodge wants you to buy the Hellcat if you wanna go Hellcat speeds lol

@@Torrious it will blow because the 392 compression numbers are higher and for boost lower compression is better. The heads on the 392 won’t handle the boost

As someone who is a moron and doesn't know anything mechanically, is the blower and supercharger to separate things? I want to do it to my rt but I'm not sure where or what to buy

@alexandermgarcia6910 when I was stock motor with a 2300 Magnuson supercharger on 8lbs of boost with shorty headers I was a low 12 second car even achieved a few high 11.9 at 118MPH with a drag pack 17inch wheels, if you like drag racing get your self a set of 17 inch wheels, you'll be way faster then you are now that's my advice.

@@scarrevan6311A supercharger is a belt driven "air pump" of 2 or 3 different configurations, all are referred to as blowers then there are turbochargers that are exhaust flow driven. The superchargers are instant punch when you hit the gas cause the belt is always turning BUT it can take 100 HP to turn the belt and the turbocharger needs to "spool up" so there is a small lag as power builds but doesn't take HP to run. I have had 4 or 5 turbo cars and if balanced right (size of turbo to cubic inch engine) there is very little noticeabl lag.

It should hold up fine at 10 psi with good fuel and tune. The 5.7 is a decent boost motor much better than the 392s.

@bailey9r I was originally leaning toward the procharger route, but I started seeing these amd was kinda waiting for this to be more readily available/proven and for the favtory warranty to expire before I went crazy with the mods

You can’t do it with the scat the 6.4 have different internals

Also had a 3.8 v6 supercharged gtp right after the 3.8 v6 turbo grand national, so I have as close to an apples to apples comparison apart from the rwd to fwd which is a massive difference.

I also had an 87 gn.... love that black beauty

I had 2 87 t types and 2 grand nationals love them to death

@@dswervo1971 I have a list of everything needed. If you find a used blower for 2k it’s only 3k extra in parts including adapters, fuel system, bypass controller, cooling system, etc. everything for less than $5k plus tuning and labor (I install them for people and tune them)

@@dswervo1971 like money wise? If you can get a hellcat blower used for $2k, only $3k worth of parts are needed to make it work: adapter plates, cooling system, fuel system, boost controller, PCV system.

probably anout 550-600 whp anything more u gotta forget those pistons

@@MaximumEffortRT Did you gap your rings? And how is it holding up with 10lbs of boost? I just finished putting one on my 5.7 just waiting on a tune to get it running still debating on how much boost to run with

A 12.6 clearly isn't the best it will do. It takes time at the track to get a car dialed in, even an automatic. He will have that car in the 11's with a few more passes.
