This how-to video will show you how to add Bluetooth audio streaming to a Range Rover Sport or LR3 as well as other vehicles. While many vehicles come with Bluetooth calling, the quality of this module is not good enough for music. With two simple parts, you can add high-quality Bluetooth music streaming to these vehicles and other vehicles that happen to have adjacent power and aux ports.

Nice video wish I saw it before my installation but it wasn't bad. I also had the wire from the rear of my LR3 and was plugged in my phone but what I did was I ran the wire permanently from the middle of the console to the rear then when I want to hear pandora music from my phone I simply plug it in and no more hanging wires. Total cost $ 27 dollars for two sets of wires from best buy. Dealer wanted $1500 to set it up via steering wheel saw another video before yours. Nice info 👌

I purchased a 2006 Range Rover HSE and when I try to pair my Android phone to the car it says "Phone Not Fitted". If I find the Aux cable behind the console? Will I be able to somehow enable the phone for hands free phone use when I am driving? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Did you manage to increase the volume from the aux input using this powered Bluetooth adapter ? It's a known issue of low volume output when used through the aux input on both disco 3 (lr3) and RRS L320.

Strangely enough the volume is higher with the bluetooth adapter than when my phone was connected directly to the aux port with a cable. The volume is totally adequate, I only go to about 27 max on the volume dial, phone media volume is always maxed out.

Man you have saved me so much stress and hassle, thank you for all the videos. Quick question please. On my 06 range rover sport, both the tail lights work but when I press the brake, only the left brake light works. No R/h brake light. I have checked the usual suspects...fuses and bulbs. Thank you.

The bulbs actually have two separate filaments in the bulb, so when the brake is pressed the same bulb will light up even brighter. What can happen is one of the two filaments goes out, so when the brake pedal is pressed nothing happens. Consider replacing the bulb!

I’ve been using a Bluetooth radio transmitter in the cigarette charger. Is there an advantage to using a Bluetooth device plugged in to the Aux like you have? Maybe better sound quality or you can skip tracks with the steering wheel?

Possibly better sound quality, but the bluetooth radio transmitter is definitely a good option, particularly for vehicles with no aux port.

I have an 08 RR full size with only an aux option as an music input. Are you still happy with your Firefly bluetooth? I assume you can't make calls over it as well?

I'm still happy with it and use it daily. You can make calls with it but it would essentially be like calling with a set of earbuds plugged in, you'd still need to speak into the phone mic.

Question, you know when you have a normal aux cable plugged in you select aux on the stereo to play.. when this connection is setup and your connected via Bluetooth do you still use the aux button the make it play?

Yes you press the aux button on the radio to set it to aux input, but you will connect to the "aux input" through the Bluetooth connection rather than with the cable.

Needing to charge and replace it each time you get in the car is the biggest negative for it. It's just simpler to plug it into the USB and forget about it.

When I play music in my lr4 from the cord it sounds horrible with tons of static. Does this method make the audio cleaner and get rid of the static?

That's strange, when I play music using a cord it sounds good. I would try connecting a new phone and cable to the aux, if it sounds GOOD, then this method will fix your issue (because the problem is with your phone jack or aux cord). If not then this method likely will not fix your problem.

It should as long as you can still switch the input to aux, you can test with something plugged into the aux port before you buy the bluetooth adaptor

I would love to use this.. but my AUX input is all janky and sound cuts out, and contact cleaner doesn't fix it. I don't want to pay $100 to replace that AUX/power port with the same thing but that's what I am looking at.

@@HazyJay ha yeah I got one same day shipment after I read the pinned comment- not the same exact model but I think they all suffer the same problem, there's not enough signal to the FM radio from these, the volume is problematic. When you flip to another sound source (at least in my experience) like a CD or a real FM station, the volume is overpowering, and you have to quickly turn it down. Thanks tho, it was worth a shot!

If your phone is connected to the device, you will essentially need to talk into the phones receiver and the car speakers will play the audio.

I do not recommend the Firefly. The base is boomy and the sound is muddy. After switching to an ES100 the sound quality is drastically better.

If you receive a call on your phone it will override the audio as long as you're on the "Aux" setting on the dash

The sound quality is equal to using the aux cable in my opinion, only change I could notice is about 20% less bass that I had to correct with changing the head-unit settings.

It will show up as "Land Rover" on the devices, password is 2121. If you don't see it, it's possible your vehicle isn't outfitted with Bluetooth for calling.

@@HazyJay strange car, there is tv sets in both hedrests of seats for rear passengers, and cord phone for using multimedia? And i cant find more cars that on main screen would have only 3 topics, "navigation", "settings", "4x4" nothing else.

@@gmykolas The screens behind the seats is an optional add-on, my 06 RRS for instance doesn't have them. SOME 2006 RRS have bluetooth but all vehicles after 2006 should have bluetooth. Connecting to bluetooth is not done through the center screen (4x4, nav screen). There is no power to the aux port when the car is off, the light for the device turns off as well when the car is off.

That's strange 🤔, I've used this in this car as well as a Jaguar and it worked, make sure the phones Bluetooth volume is all the way up and the Aux cable is all the way in.
